"What?" Fray said, holding up a plush Goomy the size of her head. "No! Please don't make it a desert! I hate the heat... uh, no offense to any Fire-types.""Huh? Well, it's just a change in scenery! Uhuhu, don't worry. This doesn't have anything to do with your powers. I just like shaking things up! Maybe I'll do a big open desert tomorrow..."
"Oh...well that's reassuring then. If we haven't been tossed into another death game for D2." Nanu sighed a bit in relief. Before recalling what Ajia's Guardian was saying about the unknown "symbol" placed on them."Huh? Well, it's just a change in scenery! Uhuhu, don't worry. This doesn't have anything to do with your powers. I just like shaking things up! Maybe I'll do a big open desert tomorrow..."
[[Yeah, the diamond's not part of my role, so it must have come from someone else. I didn't get a DM about it, so I have no idea if it's good or bad. If it's good thing... maybe the person responsible shouldn't come forward just yet? Unless it's like... something I need to know how to use? Any thoughts from others?]]
"Oh, yes! I think you SHOULD make it a desert!" Courtney said gleefully. She looked around at the phantasms manning the various stalls and listened to the carnival music playing. She had never been to a fair before. But her childhood had been filled with plenty of ghosts. "Hmm... would there be any harm in torching this place down? After all, if it's just a bunch of ghosts, a bit of fire won't hurt anyone--right?""What?" Fray said, holding up a plush Goomy the size of her head. "No! Please don't make it a desert! I hate the heat... uh, no offense to any Fire-types."
[[Could he possibly have both? If everyone has an active ability, a passive ability, and a one-shot move, who's to say Bluwii can't have both a day ability and a night one?]][[But that would imply that Bluwii's role is a night action, not a day one. Wouldn't an ability that is activated upon voting for someone activate the moment when that player is voted, not at night?
[[Wait, where did you get the two dread from?]]She felt a strange sense of dread in her. She didn't know what it was but she assumed it was the dread thing her guardian talked about.
"Perhaps," Courtney mused as she circled the Slakoth, flames dancing around her mouth. "Even if he's not lying, he's certainly not telling us the whole truth.""Then perhaps the slakoth was lying then," Mademoiselle posited. "If these other roles show a clear effect on those who interact with them, such as the Strings, the mightyena's dread, and whatever is on the delcatty's chest, then why should this one be any different?"
"What? Fire is so icky and weird! Why would you want to burn this awesome place down!""Hmm... would there be any harm in torching this place down? After all, if it's just a bunch of ghosts, a bit of fire won't hurt anyone--right?"
[[Wait, where did you get the two dread from?]]
[[Yes, I have dread. 2 dread in fact. I volunteered for the Dread count, remember? The 2 dread came from Free picking a target. She gives 1 to whoever she votes or whoever targets her. And whoever she targets gets 2 instead.]]Unclear if Shini is claiming to have Dread.
[[I was referring only to his claim to grant a passive via a vote not his own passive/one-shot.]][[Could he possibly have both? If everyone has an active ability, a passive ability, and a one-shot move, who's to say Bluwii can't have both a day ability and a night one?]]
"Yeah, I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head." Nanu clarified for Laura's guardian Jackie. Before turning to Courtney the Ninetales threatening Sans the Slakoth with a disapproving frown.[[Have mono, am tired at 11pm, thinking over the available information until my brain hurts. Bed soon. Someone please take notes for me to wake up to?? Anyway, can we get Dread confirmed as a mechanic? Unclear if Shini is claiming to have Dread. And am I following this right - we think Chibi/Ajia might have got the power meant for Bench/A'zolt from Bluwii/sans?]]
"Woah Courtney was it? How about we hold off from attacking each other till we give Sans here a chance to speak, okay? Because it's not like he had much time to explain his powers before we reached the deadline for D1." Nanu pointed out, while giving Sans @Bluwiikoon his own wary expression."Perhaps," Courtney mused as she circled the Slakoth, flames dancing around her mouth. "Even if he's not lying, he's certainly not telling us the whole truth."
"That's exactly why!" Courtney giggled as she exhaled embers into the dry air."What? Fire is so icky and weird! Why would you want to burn this awesome place down!"
[[So you were night-targeted by Free then, correct? Because she said she needs to target someone to give 2 dread each night and you volunteered as a guinea pig for that. Did anything else happen, or just the dread count?]][[Yes, I have dread. 2 dread in fact. I volunteered for the Dread count, remember? The 2 dread came from Free picking a target. She gives 1 to whoever she votes or whoever targets her. And whoever she targets gets 2 instead.]]
"Fair," Courtney said with a shrug. "If it's a beneficial ability, whoever placed it may be laying low, if they have a particularly strong power and don't want to be targeted by scum. I think, unless the one who knows what this does speaks up, we've said all there is to say about it for the time being.""None of us, other than the one who placed that mark, will know whether or not it's helpful or harmful until we see what it does," Mademoiselle thought aloud. "If it's harmful, then it is natural for the one who placed it to keep quiet so they can hide in our midst. But, if it's helpful, we encounter an impasse. Which one is more beneficial? The perpetrator outs themself and explains what the mark does giving us valuable information; or, do they keep themselves safe by not speaking up--which would paint a target on their back, thus removing us of a potent ability?"
Mademoiselle leaned over the delcatty to give herself a closer look at the mark. "I am saying to not be surprised if no one speaks up about it today, as there are many reasons as to why no one will take responsibility."
[[But would his ability grant a passive via a vote be considered an active or passive ability?]][[I was referring only to his claim to grant a passive via a vote not his own passive/one-shot.]]
[[I don't think Bench confirmed he wasn't the recipient of Bluwii's power; Shini actually pointed out that Bluwii's recipient doesn't get any notification as to what the ability is or does. I think Bench just said he didn't receive a notification that anything was different.]]Since he was still on the fence as to whether or not Sans whole "voting power" could be trusted. As they didn't know which target he struck now that Arctozolt [Bench] confirmed that they weren't the recipients of San's power.
[[Active, since it requires player input.]][[But would his ability grant a passive via a vote be considered an active or passive ability?]]
[[ i don't know that anyone actually thinks this. it's just an idea i'm floating. ]]And am I following this right - we think Chibi/Ajia might have got the power meant for Bench/A'zolt from Bluwii/sans?
[[ i'm still not clear on why most people who have spoken about it seem to consider bluwii's power a daytime action. as far as i can tell the power affects the person he's voting on at the end of the day, according to a condition that isn't evaluated until the votes are final, which to me doesn't really feel like a daytime action at all. it would not go in effect until night definitionally -q ]]That's besides the whole redirecting daytime actions thing.
[[That sounds like something that would resolve at the beginning of the night phase/end of day phase, not at the end--which is when swaps go through, meaning that it bypasses any nighttime swaps. This point makes no sense.]][[ i'm still not clear on why most people who have spoken about it seem to consider bluwii's power a daytime action. as far as i can tell the power affects the person he's voting on at the end of the day, according to a condition that isn't evaluated until the votes are final, which to me doesn't really feel like a daytime action at all. it would not go in effect until night definitionally -q ]]
Odette held up her hands defensively. "What'd you want me to call you? A Dewott?" she asked sarcastically. After a quick bout of silence, she shook her head apologetically. "Sorry. Bad time for jokes. I just...I've never...seen something like you before.""Finally! And I know this thing we're stuck as is horrible, but do you really have to call us a thing?"
The Ninetales was a meanie."That's exactly why!" Courtney giggled as she exhaled embers into the dry air.
