Chapter 7: Surprising Visits!

The morning over Lumiose City didn't break with a sunrise; it broke with a heavy, grey humidity that clung to the obsidian spires of the mansion like a shroud. Inside, the atmosphere was even heavier. Ash stood on the reinforced balcony of the master suite, his hands gripping the cold marble railing. He wasn't wearing the tailored blue suit or the high-collared mantle of the "Obsidian King." He wore a plain black hoodie, the fabric fraying at the cuffs, and his eyes, usually a sharp, tactical matte-brown, were glazed with a boredom that felt like physical weight.
Beside him, Serena leaned against the stone, her crimson dress a sharp splash of color against the dark architecture. She watched the way his fingers drummed a rhythmic, restless beat against the stone.
"Are you feeling bored?" she asked, her voice a soft hum that usually acted as his primary stabilizer.
Ash didn't look at her. He kept his gaze fixed on the perimeter fence, watching the National Corps guards pace their synchronized routes. "Hm. Nope. Not at all."
Serena hissed a soft, skeptical breath. "Oh, as if I don't see that expression, Ash. You’re looking for a glitch. You’re looking for a reason to pulse your resonance. You’ve been staring at that gate for twenty minutes hoping an Anomaly would try to crash it."
Ash finally turned, a small, weary smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth the "Bully" energy surfacing just for a second. "Fine. You caught me. It feels so... boring, Serena. After killing AZ, after the 15,000 bHz clash, the world just feels quiet. It feels like the volume’s been turned down to zero. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop."
"The other shoe isn't a monster this time, Ash," Serena replied, her gaze shifting to the driveway. "Sometimes, the quiet is the reward. You just don't know how to live in it yet."
Just as the words left her lips, a yellow cab rounded the corner of the boulevard, its tires screeching slightly as it pulled up to the massive iron gates. Ash’s posture shifted instantly. His shoulders squared, his eyes sharpened, and for a heartbeat, the air around him began to vibrate with that familiar, low-frequency hum.
"Someone’s here," Ash whispered, his voice dropping into that deep, "Leader" register. He reached for the customized Pokéball on his belt. "Clemont! Goh! We have a visitor at the gate. No bHz signature, but they’re bypassing the security protocol."
The cab door swung open. A woman stepped out, wearing a simple sun hat and a practical cardigan.
"Mom!?!?" Ash yelled, his voice cracking as the "King" persona shattered into a million pieces. He leaned so far over the balcony he nearly tipped over. "What is she doing here? Why is she at the gate?"
Before he could process the shock, the other doors of the cab flew open. As if it were meant to be, Grace stepped out, her designer clothes looking impossibly bright against the dark pavement. She adjusted her sunglasses, looking up at the mansion with a look of pure, aesthetic disapproval.
"Mom?" Serena gasped, her own "Queen" composure evaporating.
Then the backdoors of the cab opened to reveal Goh’s mom and dad. Goh, who had been walking through the foyer with a cup of black coffee, stopped dead in his tracks. He looked at the monitors, then at the driveway, and his jaw dropped.
"What are you guys looking at?" Goh asked, his voice shaking. Then he saw the screen. "Mom and Dad? What are they... how did they even get past the regional blockade?"
Down in the driveway, Delia Ketchum looked up at the balcony. She didn't see the "Obsidian Heroes" or the "Vigilantes of Kalos." She saw three teenagers looking down at her like lost Wingulls.
"STOP GASPING AND HELP YOUR PARENTS OUT A BIT, WON’T YOU!" Delia yelled, her voice carrying a maternal authority that 15,000 bHz couldn't touch.
They didn’t wait. The three of them ran downstairs as fast as they could, their heavy tactical boots thudding against the polished marble floor with a loud, uncoordinated clatter. There was no "stealth," no "resonance," just the frantic energy of kids who realized they were about to be lectured.
By the time they reached the grand front door and hissed it open, the parents were already stepping into the foyer. They stood there, looking around at the sheer, cold fanciness of the mansion. The obsidian pillars, the glowing blue data terminals, and the sterile white marble were met with varying expressions of shock.
Delia was the first to speak. She ran a finger along a nearby stone pedestal and looked at the grey smudge on her skin. "Wow. Won't it hurt to clean a bit, Ash? This place is a palace, but it feels like a museum."
Ash’s sinister smirk was nowhere to be found. He stood there, his hands shoved deep into his hoodie pockets. "Mom, we didn't have the time yet. We were too busy with... the work. The underground remnants, the bHz tracking"
"The only work you’re gonna do now is sit down for a proper meal!" Grace interrupted, walking past Ash as if he were a piece of furniture. She reached Serena and immediately began smoothing out the wrinkles in her crimson dress. "Serena, honey, you look strong, you look mature... but this mansion is far too moody. It needs some life. It needs some color. It looks like you're living in a tomb, dear."
Goh’s parents wrapped him in a hug so tight it effectively knocked the "Reaper" persona right out of his system. Goh stood there, looking smaller than he had in months.
"We saw your speech, Goh!" his mother said, her eyes welling up. "So sharp! So serious! You sounded like a grown man. But we brought your favorite snacks from home, because we know you’ve been living off nothing but coffee and data. Look at your face, you’re all skin and bones!"
The group moved as a chaotic, loud wave into the main living room. The mothers were already talking about "rearranging the light" and "airing out the dampness," but the chatter stopped dead once they saw it.
In the center of the room, sitting on a high-backed velvet chair that was clearly meant for Ash the chair where he sat when he planned the "Bite of Ash" strategy was a big, four-foot Dedenne plush. Its bright yellow fabric was a loud, happy scream in the middle of all the cold marble and obsidian.
"Woah," Goh’s mom whispered, her voice dropping into a sudden, hollow silence as the excitement of the reunion disappeared. The reality of why they were actually there was the reason the house felt so empty despite the luxury hit them all at once. "What’s this big plush for? Is it a gift?"
Ash stepped forward, his footsteps silent on the marble. He reached out and touched the plush’s big, soft belly. "It's a placeholder..." he said, his voice dropping into a quiet, raw register.
Then Clemont walked out of the kitchen. His footsteps were slow, his shoulders slumped. He didn't have his lab coat on. He looked at the four parents, then reached out and touched the soft fabric of the plush’s ear.
"For the little girl who should be sitting here," Clemont said. His voice started to crack, the "Science Bro" logic failing him completely. "She wanted it as a beanbag. We... we just didn't want the chair to stay empty. We thought if we kept the chair filled, the room wouldn't feel so... quiet."
Delia’s eyes started pouring out water like a fountain. She didn’t say anything about the house being dirty, or the clothes being moody, or the white marble being too cold. She simply walked toward the chair, then past it, and pulled Clemont into a crushing hug.
"Oh, what a sad, sad boy," she whispered, her voice thick with the kind of grief only a mother can navigate.
The silence that followed wasn't the "Peace of the Grave" Ash had talked about at the restaurant. It was a human silence. Grace stood by Serena, her hand gripping her daughter's arm, realizing that the "Queen" she saw on TV was really just a girl trying to hold her friends together while they all bled internally.
"Alright," Delia said, pulling back and wiping her face with the back of her hand, her expression turning into one of fierce, domestic determination. "No more 'King' talk. No more 'Reaper' talk. No more of this 'Obsidian' nonsense for one night. We are going into that kitchen, we are making enough food to feed an army, and we are going to be a family. Ash, grab the bags. Clemont, show me where the stove is. We're bringing the light back into this house."
The Obsidian Mansion finally had a heartbeat... and it sounded like a mother’s love.

Chapter 7.5: The Kitchen Sovereignty

The transition from the hollow silence of the living room to the frantic energy of the kitchen was like watching a black-and-white film suddenly burst into Technicolor. Delia Ketchum hadn't even taken off her sun hat before she had effectively annexed the industrial-grade kitchen. The "Marble" high-tech appliances, designed for efficiency and sleekness, were now covered in flour, cutting boards, and a chaotic array of Pallet Town spices.
"Ash, don't just stand there leaning against the marble like a brooding statue!" Delia shouted over the sizzle of a frying pan. "Peel those onions. And Goh, honey, put that Rotom-Phone away. If I see one more data chart before dinner, I’m going to personally recalibrate your frequency with this wooden spoon."
Goh jumped, nearly dropping the device that held the "Black Files" of every criminal in Kalos. "Yes, ma'am! Onions. Right. I’m on it."
Across the island, Grace was moving with the precision of a Rhyhorn racer, though her current obstacle was a pile of Kalosian greens. She looked at Serena, who was standing awkwardly by the sink, still wearing the crimson dress that cost more than a mid-sized sedan.
"Serena, dear," Grace said, her voice a sharp contrast to Delia’s warmth. "You look like a Queen on that balcony, but in this kitchen, you look like a girl who hasn't held a whisk in a month. Tie your hair back. We are making a Magost Berry glaze, and I will not have 'Marble’' dust ruining the flavor profile."
Serena smiled, a genuine, tired sparkle returning to her blue eyes. "Yes, Mom."
The mansion, which usually vibrated with the low, 850 bHz hum of Ash’s resonance, was now vibrating with something entirely different. It was the sound of clinking silverware, the bubbling of stew, and the sharp, rhythmic chopping of vegetables. The "Tense" air of the Geosenge aftermath was being scrubbed away by the sheer force of maternal will.
Clemont sat at the small breakfast nook, watching them. He still looked hollow the hug from Delia had cracked his shell, but the grief was still leaking out. He looked at his hands, the same hands that had built the "Ultimate Void" sensors, and felt a strange sense of uselessness.
"Clemont," Goh whispered, sliding a pile of peeled onions toward him. "Help me with these. My eyes are watering, and I can't tell if it’s the onions or the fact that my mom just told me I have 'narrow shoulders' for a Reaper."

well the intro helps a bit... i tapped out of the anime after orange islands so i'm dreadfully behind...

Chapter 1: Obsidian Beginnings

The air in the Cerise Laboratory usually smelled of ozone and sterile data, but today, it felt heavy like the atmosphere before a catastrophic storm.
Ash Ketchum, eighteen and standing a head taller than he did a year ago, wasn't looking at a monitor. He was staring at Goh’s Frogadier. The blue Pokémon was practicing its Aerial Ace, but to Ash’s eyes, the movements were... slow. Simplified.
"The form is good, Goh," Ash said, his voice deeper, carrying the weight of the Alolan throne. "But it’s hollow. There’s no Pokespirit behind the strike."

Whike i get ash is canonically older (your helpful notes squared that up) i'm a bit baffled as to the emphasis on his height difference and voice changes. Unless they happened recently.

Curious to see spirit explored...

Goh looked up from his Rotom Phone, his eyes bloodshot from a fourteen-hour "Data Grind."

I thought everyones eyes looked like that. Bet goh lives off energy drimks too...

"What are you talking about, Ash? The math is perfect. His velocity is top-tier for his level."
Ash didn't blink. He felt a phantom itch in his chest—a literal tugging on his soul that stretched across the ocean, all the way to the Kalosian woods. The Bond Phenomenon wasn't just a move anymore; it was a heartbeat he shared with a King.

Blinks. Methinks i mised a lot of canon.

"He's hitting the target," Ash whispered, his eyes beginning to shimmer with a faint, obsidian blue light. "But he’s not deleting it."

The computer heavy analogy seems almost digimon in flavor.

Across the room, Professor Cerise froze. On his massive wall-sized monitor, a needle labeled [pokespirit] suddenly spiked from a calm 40 bHz to a screaming 850. The cooling fans in the supercomputer began to wail in agony.
"Ash?" Cerise's voice trembled, his 'Data Addiction' kicking in as he scrambled to record the anomaly. "What are you doing? Your molecular density is... it's shifting! GIVE IT TO ME! Give me the readout on that pulse!"

Ummm it seems like Cerise is going to.get a front view reading on wjats happening. Wonder if the walls are.gunna survive?

Ash ignored the Professor. He turned toward the window, looking toward the horizon where the Kalos region lay.
"Goh, pack your bags. " Ash shadow-boxed a single, lightning-fast jab into the empty air. The friction caused a miniature sonic boom that shattered a nearby beaker. "We’re going back to the roots. It’s time I showed you what a 100% Sync actually looks like."

One... i'm wonder when ash went from happy go lucky to casually does property damage to his host.. intentionally (aged uo after all doesnt mean grim dark, his word choice and stoicsm compared tonhis younger attitude are planting warning signs he went all grim dark)

In the shadows of the lab, Cerise’s eyes widened. He didn't see a student anymore. He saw a glitch in the universe that he needed to archive.

I mean company he keeps and all that probably isnt helping... Cerise reminds me of Colorless from Plasma a bit... if the man got a bit more energetic?

The Kalosian Journey had officially begun.
Ash and Goh got on a plane to Lumiose airport
Ash and Goh finally reach lumiose airport where they are greeted by Clemont and Bonnie
Since its the same line the second ash and goh could be replaced by they...

The air felt fresh and alive Ash relived his first time landing in Kalos with Alexa

Interesting way to show off flashback...
Ash "Hey Bonnie how have you been?"
Bonnie: "Ash! Clemont says i'll get my first pokemon today!"
Ash: "Woah Bonnie really which one?"
Bonnie: "Ash you know which one its obviously dedenne"
Ash "Oh yea where is it anyways?"
Bonnie "Hmph its sleeping."
Clemont "Bonnie come on let's go"
Ash and the gang go to the Lumiose woods , where Greninja spends his time defending Kalos from team Flare's corrupted vines
The air was dusty and corrupted Ash was very excited to see Greninja again!

my geeky mind immediatly went vines=memes because part because of all the little tech nods part becauae sleepy...

also saw 2x corrupted right next toneach other thought you might want to change it up.

Ash suddenly feels a familiar feeling like the Kalos league again
Cerise was just screaming "Ash, this isn't possible your bond hertz is rising above the normal level! GIVE IT TO ME"

Ash ignores Cerise's weird behavior and whispers to Goh "Please act like your range is cutting out he is annoying me"
Goh cuts Cerise video call acting like his range was cutting out
Ash feels the feeling getting stronger he can feel Greninja

feelsnthe feeling? What does that feeling feel loke, heat, tingling, aura trying to pjsh out of his body... also why is ash so empowered w a tie to a king?

also feel and feelong are roght next to each other on tje same line...

Out of nowhere a big vine radiating a energy that other Corrupted vines radiated but this one was one of the biggest he sensed in the forest
This was the Mother Vine this vine is the root of all Corrupted Vines if Ash defeated it the terror the vines caused would end

well jopefully ash can win against saod vine. Speaking of the word vine saw 6x instances od nit in... one line...

Goh "Ash i got this Cinderace will beat it to a pulp."
Ash "Goh you already don't need to i can defeat it no prob!"
Goh "*laughing* how are going to defeat that with a pikachu *laughing harder*"

tips head either goh is earning an aplus in "ignores canon" or ash os going to show off and fiwld it without a mon...

Ash "Oh i won't be using pikachu ... Greninja lets go"
Suddenly Greninja appears from the trees ready to fight
Greninja "Nin-ja!"
Goh "*Laughing even harder* you're gonna beat a grass type with a water type *still laughing*"
Clemont "Don't underestimate Ash even if he has the type disadvantage he can still turn the tides"
Ash "Come on Greninja use Ice Beam!"

i hesitatw to call a vine a grass type... much less one riddled with corruption... but between gohs cpmment and ashs use of ice beam hes got a ppint...

Greninja uses a ice beam dealing a little damage not that much but enough to show he has a weakness
Goh brings out Cinderace
Goh "Cinderace use Pyro-Ball!"

A super effective move but the Mother Vine absorbs the kinetic energy from it Goh is shocked and suprised it did nothing!
Ash uses his insane battle IQ to invent a new move
Ash immediately bonds with Greninja and ready to fight

so the combats written a lot like an anouncer would narrate...

so bonds as in x/y evolution, gigamancing, z movong, or actual merging (theres so mamy cues from dragon ball z its a slioper slope here) i think itd help to slow doen a little and show what ash is actuallyndling and how kinetic energy being absorved loos lome ect to make the fighting more personal...

as a system tho cpmbat hasnt strayed far from the games formula yet...

Ash "Greninja use Ice Impact!"
Greninja "Nin-Ja
Goh "Ash that's not even a move!?!?!"
Even if it wasn't a move Ash's sheer B hrtz (bond hertz) was so powerful that he signaled telepathically that "condense a ball of water into your hand and just as you hit the Vine Freeze it into Ice"
Now The Mother Vine was frozen solid with sheer power of Ice Impact

Clemont "Ash you really used your bond with Greninja to improvise a new move! that's Genius!"
Now the finishing blow was required to finish it off!

? Why is genius cappitalized? Is it a name?

Ash "Greninja! , use Aerial Ace!"
This shatters the ice and ends The Mother Vine's Corruption
The air (that) was eerie and dark now shifted to a happy and pleasant atmosphere.

Serena was just practicing for her next performance in the Lumiose woods and heard the clash
Serena "Pangoro Follow me!"
Serena rushes to the area where she heard the Impact
She knew greninja was here and knew that she would hear some clashes but she didn't expect one this powerful!
She reached and saw a crater with smoke coming out the dust clears out and she sees ash
Ash "Serena! Long time no see!"
Serena "I always missed you Ash so great to see you again and greninja such a big clash didn't except that"
Ash "Missed you too!:
Greninja "Ninja!"
They head to a hotel to rest.

Ash said to Serena "Hey Serena, Wanna go to a macron cafe tonight?" Serena replied "Yes!" Bonnie giggles and whispers to Clemont "Look Ash is inviting Serena to go on Date!" Clemont says to Bonnie "Hey Bonnie knock it off"
Transition to night
Lumiose City at night was a sea of neon, but the Macaron shop was a quiet sanctuary of warm light and the smell of toasted sugar. Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Goh sat at a circular booth.
Goh was staring intensely at his Rotom Phone. "Ash, I’m still trying to process that 'Ice Impact.' My sensors recorded a localized temperature drop of absolute zero for exactly 0.01 seconds. That shouldn't be physically possible for a Greninja......"

i dont remember goh being married tonhis tech tjis hard in canon.. is this a fanon reinterpretation?

Ash leaned back, looking much more relaxed than he did in the woods. "The data doesn't matter, Goh. It’s about the Pokespirit. When you stop looking at the data, you start seeing the soul."
Serena laughed, placing a tray of colorful macarons on the table. "You’ve definitely grown up, Ash. You sound like a philosopher now instead of just a kid who wants to battle."
"Two years and a throne in Alola will do that to you," Ash said, his voice dropping an octave. He looked directly at Serena, not missing the way she blushed.

snoets. I'm thinkong some background showing what experiences in those 2 years helped him change migjt help a bit bridge this ash from most peoples concepts of canon ash... bjt for nkw his presemce is an exlerience....

Bonnie giggled from the next table over. "Clemont, look! Ash is actually looking at her! He’s not even eating his macaron yet!"
Clemont adjusted his glasses, looking nervous. "Bonnie, shush! Let them have their moment."
As they ate, the conversation flowed easily, but Ash could feel the romantic energy between him and Serena humming it wasn't like b-hrtz it was love at first sight serena resonated golden
"Serena," Ash said suddenly, standing up. "Let's walk. Just us."
Goh looked up, confused. "But we haven't finished the Data Sync on the..."
Clemont grabbed Goh’s collar and pulled him back down. "The data can wait, Goh. Trust me."

Ash and Serena walked out onto the balcony of the shop, overlooking the Prism Tower. The wind caught Serena's hair, and for a moment, the 'King of Alola' felt like just a boy again but a boy who finally knew what he wanted.
"Ash?" Serena whispered. "You’ve changed so much. You're... stronger. But you feel different."
"I spent a long time chasing the horizon, Serena," Ash said, stepping closer. "I realized that being a Master isn't just about winning. It's about who you want to share the world with when the battle is over."

I see pairongs are not gping to be a question in this story, at all.

He didn't wait for her to drop a hint. He didn't wait for a sign.

um ew... turn off that. Bet she swoons into it though.

Ash reached out, gently cupping her face, and pulled her into a firm, meaningful kiss.
The air around them didn't explode with ice or shadow. Instead, the Prism Tower behind them flickered with a soft, celebratory gold. For the first time in years, the "Obsidian" light in Ash's eyes softened into something human.
Serena pulled back, breathless, a radiant smile on her face. "Took you long enough, Ash Ketchum."

yeah, called it. I'm not much for romance so i'm not going to comment here.

Ash smirked, the 'King's' confidence returning. "I had a lot of training to do. But I think I finally got the timing right."
RIP DENSE ASH

Well that was an experience. Thanks for being patient and thanks for sharonf.

Clemont let out a weak, shaky laugh. He picked up a knife, his 170 IQ focusing on the simple, geometric perfection of a diced onion. "The math of a stew is much simpler than the math of a bHz spike, Goh. It’s... refreshing."
Ash, meanwhile, was working in silence next to his mother. He felt the "Obsidian" edge in his soul receding, replaced by a grounded, heavy warmth. For eight years, he had chased the horizon, always looking for the next battle, the next badge, the next "Master" title. But standing here, smelling the Pallet Town stew, he realized that the "King" persona was just a suit of armor he wore to keep from falling apart.
"You're thinking too much, Ash," Delia said, not looking up from her pot. "I can feel your brain whirring from here. You're trying to figure out how a dinner fits into the 'Declaration of War' you gave on TV."
Ash paused, his knife hovering over a potato. "It doesn't fit, Mom. The world is still broken. AZ’s remnants are still out there. The 'Anomalies' haven't stopped existing just because you're making stew."
Delia stopped stirring. She turned to him, her expression serious. "The world has been broken for three thousand years, Ash. It’ll be broken tomorrow, and it’ll be broken a hundred years from now. But your friends? They’re breaking now. Clemont hasn't looked at the sun in three days. Goh looks like he’s forgotten how to breathe without a monitor. And you..." she reached out, wiping a smudge of soot from his forehead, "you look like you’ve forgotten that you’re eighteen."
"I have a responsibility, Mom," Ash said, his voice dropping into that deep, Kingly register. "The League gave us immunity. They gave us the leash. If I don't hold it, who will?"
"Let the girl hold it for an hour," Delia whispered, nodding toward Serena, who was laughing at something Grace had said. "She’s the only one who isn't afraid of the monster you think you've become. Now, finish the potatoes. The 'Heroes' need to eat."
Dinner was served at the long, oak table the one usually covered in maps and bHz charts. Tonight, it was covered in white linen and steaming bowls of food. The four parents sat amongst the four vigilantes, filling the gaps in the conversation that usually hung heavy with grief.
They talked about the old days. They laughed about Ash’s first battle with Brock, about Serena’s first performance, and about the time Goh tried to catch a Magikarp with his bare hands. For two hours, the "Obsidian Heroes" didn't exist. They were just kids.
But as the meal wound down, the silence returned, settling over them like a soft blanket. They all looked at the four-foot Dedenne plushie sitting in the chair at the head of the table. Delia had placed a small bowl of fruit in front of it, a silent acknowledgement that the "little girl" was still part of the family.
"The silence is different tonight," Clemont whispered, looking at the plushie. "It doesn't feel like a grave. It feels like... a memory."
"That's because memories aren't supposed to be cold, Clemont," Grace said, her voice uncharacteristically soft. "They're supposed to be lived in."
As the mothers began to clear the table, refusing to let the "Heroes" lift a finger, Ash walked out onto the balcony once more. The Lumiose night was bright, the neon veins of the city pulsing below. But he didn't scan for bHz spikes. He didn't look for anomalies. He just looked at the stars.
Serena stepped out behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist. "Gonna cry, Ash?" she teased, her voice a soft, romantic echo of his own sinister taunt.
Ash leaned back into her, his heart rate a steady, peaceful 60 bHz. "Not a chance," he whispered. "But I think the 'Monster' is taking the night off."
"Good," Serena replied, resting her head on his shoulder. "Because the 'Queen' wants to see the sunrise without having to check the monitors."
Downstairs, the sound of a mother’s laughter echoed through the vents, and for the first time since the world broke, the Obsidian Mansion felt like it was finally, truly, standing on solid ground.

Very intaresting review
Review for

Intro and chapter 1
erm what the sigma?
I swear this piece is half ninja. it disapaered under me amd took my firat review with it.
greninja is doing shi rn
Gaaaasp, no gio?
i cannot confirm or deny that
well the intro helps a bit... i tapped out of the anime after orange islands so i'm dreadfully behind...
um very bad for u bro
Whike i get ash is canonically older (your helpful notes squared that up) i'm a bit baffled as to the emphasis on his height difference and voice changes. Unless they happened recently.

Curious to see spirit explored...
yea the anime cannonically has a 9 month distance from alola and journeys due to kukui's baby and yes they did change recently.
I thought everyones eyes looked like that. Bet goh lives off energy drimks too...
No they don't, and bro lives off coffee tons of it.
Blinks. Methinks i mised a lot of canon.
bro ur cooked bro u are cooked i reccomend u watch the team flare arc of xyz and the ending of it to get a bigger grasp on the story , it mainly revolves around xy content

The computer heavy analogy seems almost digimon in flavor.
do not speak of digimon on this thread bro.
Ummm it seems like Cerise is going to.get a front view reading on wjats happening. Wonder if the walls are.gunna survive?
bro is um tracking the surrounding area's bhz, so bro saw a massive spike.
One... i'm wonder when ash went from happy go lucky to casually does property damage to his host.. intentionally (aged uo after all doesnt mean grim dark, his word choice and stoicsm compared tonhis younger attitude are planting warning signs he went all grim dark)
it is very grimdark and he had that change from xyz's team flare arc i will give a full rewrite of the alolan league instead some random shenanigans
I mean company he keeps and all that probably isnt helping... Cerise reminds me of Colorless from Plasma a bit... if the man got a bit more energetic?
IDK what to say on that shi
Since its the same line the second ash and goh could be replaced by they...
bro its a diff line 💀
SKULLCANDY VOUCHER!
Interesting way to show off flashback...
flashback no it's the same feeling.
my geeky mind immediatly went vines=memes because part because of all the little tech nods part becauae sleepy...

also saw 2x corrupted right next toneach other thought you might want to change it up.
VINE BOOM sound effect. and i don't wanna change it I LIKUH A CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA
feelsnthe feeling? What does that feeling feel loke, heat, tingling, aura trying to pjsh out of his body... also why is ash so empowered w a tie to a king?

also feel and feelong are roght next to each other on tje same line...
I will specify the feeling and how many damn spelling mistakes do u have , and ash is OP as shit training arc happened here is his physique from the training as a reference
Screenshot 2026-03-19 072434.png
ok ts the physique he has op as shiit
well jopefully ash can win against saod vine. Speaking of the word vine saw 6x instances od nit in... one line...
it is 2 lines bruv

tips head either goh is earning an aplus in "ignores canon" or ash os going to show off and fiwld it without a mon...
Goh is gonna earn a F- in my fic's battle logic
i hesitatw to call a vine a grass type... much less one riddled with corruption... but between gohs cpmment and ashs use of ice beam hes got a ppint...
The meta reason is its funny and the in fic reason is Goh is wrong here it doesn't have a typing Goh is assuming.
so the combats written a lot like an anouncer would narrate...

so bonds as in x/y evolution, gigamancing, z movong, or actual merging (theres so mamy cues from dragon ball z its a slioper slope here) i think itd help to slow doen a little and show what ash is actuallyndling and how kinetic energy being absorved loos lome ect to make the fighting more personal...

as a system tho cpmbat hasnt strayed far from the games formula yet...
Bond as in the battle bond from xyz with Ash and Greninja having a battle bond form
? Why is genius cappitalized? Is it a name?
I may not confirm or deny that.
i dont remember goh being married tonhis tech tjis hard in canon.. is this a fanon reinterpretation?
bro loves his tech bro go- nvm
snoets. I'm thinkong some background showing what experiences in those 2 years helped him change migjt help a bit bridge this ash from most peoples concepts of canon ash... bjt for nkw his presemce is an exlerience....
That will be shown in some like time
I see pairongs are not gping to be a question in this story, at all.
Romance the thing is romance is heavy in this story
um ew... turn off that. Bet she swoons into it though.
Amourshipping fans will hunt you for that sentence.
yeah, called it. I'm not much for romance so i'm not going to comment here.
Your choice.
Well that was an experience. Thanks for being patient and thanks for sharonf.
lots of spelling mistakes and couldn't grasp your thoughts clearly
Thanks for the review here is a SKULLCANDY VOUCHER and a voucher for chicken tikka masala at raj chicken

Chapter 8: The Resonance of Brothers

The morning in the mansion was peaceful and then Serena woke Ash up “Ash wake up it’s 7 am!” Ash said “Okay i’ll go brush” Ash finished brushing and showered he looked at his cupboard to see many black compression shirts and baggy white pants these will look cool he wore them to see his 6 pack on the compression shirt it was the perfect drip he walked out of the room and Goh reacted “Where’s your jacket and hat?” Ash answered calmly “Hm thought this was more intimidating for anyone who crosses us.” “Well it’s already working, those abs could never see those clearly , never knew you had a six pack” Goh said , Delia said “Well he has been training since he came back from Kalos for a special someone!” she giggled , Grace nodded a sign of respect, Serena was redder than a tomato , Clemont said “I thought Ash just learned about romance” Delia answered “Well i had a lot of explaining to do after he came back home, that kiss really made him curious, wouldn’t you agree, Serena?” Serena was redder than a tomato and said “I had to give him a shock y’know? He was clueless for a whole year!”

Screenshot 2026-03-19 072434.png

"A shock is an understatement, Serena," Grace added with a sharp, knowing smirk as she sipped her tea. "You nearly short-circuited the boy's brain right there on the escalator. I’m surprised his bHz didn't reset to zero on the spot."
Ash rubbed the back of his neck, the black fabric of his compression shirt tightening across his chest. The "King" was nowhere to be found; he was just a guy getting teased by his mom and his girlfriend’s mom at the same time.
"I wasn't clueless," Ash muttered, though his smirk betrayed him. "I was... calculating. A tactical delay."
"Tactical delay? Is that what the kids are calling it now?" Goh laughed, leaning against the marble island. "Ash, you were so deep in the 'friend zone' you needed a GPS to find the exit. If Serena hadn't made that move, we’d still be talking about 'battle synergy' instead of 'vows.'"

“Ash was more dense than the Kanto rainforest” Clemont said.

"Hey! The Kanto rainforest is actually quite easy to navigate if you have a Bulbasaur," Ash retorted, though the "Bully" smirk was already back on his face.
The kitchen erupted in another round of laughter, the sound bouncing off the obsidian pillars. Even Delia couldn't help but join in. "Clemont, dear, the Kanto rainforest has nothing on a boy who thought a girl's 'I like you' meant she wanted to trade Pokémon."
Serena leaned against the marble counter, her blush finally receding into a confident, 'Queen' smile. "He wasn't just dense, Clemont. He was a black hole. No light romantic or otherwise could escape his battle-focused gravity."
Ash crossed his arms, the black compression fabric stretching over his chest. He looked at Serena, his matte-brown eyes carrying a depth that hadn't existed ten years ago. "Well, I guess you were the only 'Queen’' powerful enough to pull me out of it then."
"A 15,000 bHz romantic impact," Goh joked, sliding his empty plate into the sink. "It’s a miracle the airport's foundation survived the resonance."

“Even I was shocked , she leaned in and it wasn’t on the cheek , she went straight for the lips” Clemont joked

Grace set her teacup down with a final, elegant click. "Well, it seems the 'Black Hole' has turned into a 'King.' But even Kings need to stay sharp. Ash, if you’re done being the target of the morning’s jokes, I believe your mother mentioned the training room."
The atmosphere in the room shifted instantly. The maternal teasing didn't disappear, but it was overlaid by the Obsidian focus. The "Resonance of Brothers" wasn't just about fighting; it was about the shared history of being "clueless" kids who had to grow into monsters to protect the world.
Ash nodded, his voice dropping into that tactical, deep register that made the National Corps guards at the gate nervous. "Goh, Clemont... let's go. If I was 'dense' back then, I'm going to be 'impenetrable' today. Ten minutes. Training gear on."
As the three of them walked toward the heavy, reinforced doors of the mansion’s gym, Serena watched them go. She knew that behind the six-packs and the compression shirts, they were still those boys from the rainforest; they just had much bigger shadows now.

“Who’s up for the challenge?” Ash challenged Clemont and Goh , Clemont said calmly “Not in the mood to battle.” “Well that leaves you Goh let’s battle!” Ash challenged Goh “No holding back!” Delia commanded

“The Battle arena of the mansion isn't just your normal arena , it’s built to withstand even the power of 1 million bhz” Clemont announced “Come on Ash, show Goh what you got!”

"A million bHz?" Goh’s eyes widened, his charcoal-black training gear fluttering from the sheer pressure radiating off the floor tiles. "Clemont, you really went overboard with the 'Abyss' tech, didn't you?"
Clemont’s glasses caught the blue glare of the monitors. "When your best friend can vaporize an ancient King with a snap of his fingers, 'overboard' is just the baseline, Goh. Now, stop talking and start surviving. The sensors are hitting 12,000 bHz and Ash hasn't even blinked yet."
Ash stood in the center of the reinforced arena, his black compression shirt straining against his chest. The "Bully" smirk on his face was sharp enough to cut glass. He didn't look like a trainer; he looked like a force of nature waiting for a reason to break something.
"You heard the man, Goh," Ash said, his voice dropping into that deep, rhythmic hum that made the air in the room feel heavy as lead. "The walls can take it. Can you?"

“Let’s go Greninja show him how a king truly works with his pokemon!”
The air was now heavy Greninja’s aura was unmatched the sheer bhz he was resonating reached 10 thousand the second he came out of pokeball

Delia asked “What’s the reading on Greninja?” Clemont answered his jaw dropped “TEN THOUSAND BOND HERTZ! And he just came out of his pokeball, this isn’t possible for a Greninja.” “Anything is possible with the bond with your pokemon!” “Greninja! Full power! Water Impact!” Goh’s Cinderace was now emitting more black smoke now “What’s the reading on Cinderace?” Delia commanded Clemont to tell her, He said “A mere five thousand and he is still trying to power up!” As Greninja’s Water Impact
"Greninja's Water Impact didn't just move, it erased the distance," Clemont screamed over the roar of the atmospheric pressure. The monitor in his hand flickered as the bHz hit 12,000. "Ash, stop! The friction is turning the air into plasma!"
The high-pressure obsidian water blade slammed into Cinderace’s smoke shield. The collision didn't sound like a splash; it sounded like a building collapsing. The violet-black smoke was shredded in an instant, the weight of Greninja’s 10,000 bHz base power acting like a hydraulic press.

Goh staggered back, he couldn’t see greninja

Ash roared “It’s time i finish this, Pokedomain open ; NINJA’S ULTIMATE VOID.”
The area was engulfed in a black void Delia cheered “Go Ash!”

Goh parents just were just coming to see the battle with popcorn

“Let’s go Cinderace,Pokedomain Open!; Flamed Ruin!”

Now a part of ‘NINJA’S ULTIMATE VOID’ was flaming

“This is okay Goh , but can you survive Greninja’s 50% power?” Ash roared

Clemont astonished said “The power… it’s 50 thousand bhz”
Ash claimed “And i’m just at 25%, Goh can you survive 50%?”

The training grounds groaned as the physical world tried to reject the sheer amount of energy being forced into it. The "Ninja’s Ultimate Void" didn't just swallow the light—it swallowed the sound, leaving only the rhythmic, terrifying thrum of Ash’s 25,000 bHz resonance.
Goh’s "Flamed Ruin" flickered like a candle in a hurricane. The black flames of his guilt fought to carve out a space in the obsidian darkness, but the pressure was immense.
"Fifty thousand?!" Clemont screamed, his monitors exploding into static. He threw the tablet aside as it began to melt. "Ash! You’re reaching Legendary-Tier suppression! If you hit fifty percent, you’re not just defeating Goh—you’re erasing the mansion from the map!"
Goh’s parents sat on the observation bench, popcorn frozen halfway to their mouths. They weren't watching a Pokémon battle; they were watching a collision of gods. "Is... is that our son?" Goh’s father whispered, his face pale in the flickering violet light of the Flamed Ruin.
Ash stood at the center of the Void, his black compression shirt shimmering with a dark, crystalline sweat. His matte-brown eyes were glowing with a predatory, kingly light.
"Twenty-five percent is just a greeting, Goh," Ash roared, his voice echoing from the very walls of the Void. "Greninja... DIVIDE THE SPACE!"
Greninja, now a silhouette of pure obsidian energy, didn't move. He simply vibrated. The 50,000 bHz pulse hit the Flamed Ruin like a physical hammer. The violet flames were flattened against the floor, and Cinderace fell to one knee, the 'Reaper's' dark smoke being crushed back into his fur.
"Gonna cry, Goh?" Ash’s "Bully" smirk was visible even in the darkness. "You wanted to be an Obsidian Hero. You wanted to walk the Abyss. Well, this is it. The Abyss doesn't care about your data or your guilt. It only cares if you can stand up."
Ash raised a single hand, his fingers curling into a claw. "I'm stepping up to fifty percent. GRENINJA! Final stand… !"
The air didn't just get heavy; it became solid. The popcorn in the parents' bowl turned to dust instantly from the vibration.
"Reading is... ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND bHz!" Clemont yelled, diving behind the reinforced lead shielding of the console. "ASH, STOP! YOU’RE TEARING THE ATOMS APART!"
Goh looked up, his eyes bloodshot, his teeth gritted so hard they threatened to crack. He felt the weight of a King pressing down on his soul.

“I won’t stay a sidekick Ash, Cinderace, Dark Pyro-Ball!” Goh roared

“Greninja, Let’s finish this ULTIMATE WATER SHURIKEN” Greninja manifested a giant black water shuriken. Just as Cinderace fired ‘Dark Pyro-ball’ he dodged and threw it at the speed of 50 miles per hour… Cinderace fainted

Water Shuriken collided with the remaining black flames of Goh’s domain. The speed of the impact was so surgical that the sound didn't even reach the observation deck until after Cinderace was already on the ground, unconscious.
The 100,000 bHz pressure evaporated instantly. Ash stood in the center of the training tiles, his black compression shirt soaked in sweat, his breathing heavy but controlled. The "Bully" smirk was gone, replaced by the weary, proud look of an older brother.
"Readings... back to zero," Clemont gasped, leaning over the console. "Ash, you just delivered a 50,000 bHz physical strike in under a millisecond. Cinderace’s 'Dark Core' didn't even have time to react."
Goh fell to his knees beside his fainted partner, his hands shaking as the Dark Smoke of his guilt finally turned back into normal exhaustion. He looked up at Ash, his eyes red-rimmed but no longer filled with the 'Sidekick' fear.

“I…I almost beat you there Ash” Goh whispered Ash walked over, his tactical boots clicking on the ruined tiles. He reached out a hand, pulling Goh to his feet with a single, powerful tug. "It was strong, Goh. It was enough to make me jump to fifty percent. You didn't lose as a sidekick, you lost as an Obsidian Hero who forced the King to actually try."
Delia and the other parents rushed into the arena, their faces a mix of terror and relief. Goh's parents dropped their popcorn bowl, rushing to hug their son.

“Ash, honey don’t try to blow the mansion next time” Delia yelled with maternal authority she had over Ash “That was HARDCORE!” Clemont yelled, “Pretty good for my son in law” Grace calmly said

"Son-in-law?" Ash choked, his 100,000 bHz composure instantly evaporating. He went from the Obsidian King to a stuttering young adult in a black compression shirt in record time.
Serena turned a shade of pink that rivaled a Magost Berry, her "Queen" persona currently offline. "M-mom! We haven't even talked about that yet!"
Grace just leaned against the reinforced glass, unfazed by the literal craters in the floor. "Oh, please. You two share a 'Golden Aura’' that can stabilize a nuclear reactor. If that's not 'son-in-law' material, I don't know what is. Besides, Ash looks much better in that suit than a Z-Ring."
Delia marched over to Ash, poking him in his newly revealed six-pack. "She's right, honey. But if you blow up the kitchen before I finish the Magost glaze, you’ll be sleeping in the 'Ultimate Void' tonight. Now, help Goh up. He’s earned a seat at the table."
Goh groaned as he stood up, dusting off his charcoal training gear. He looked at Ash, then at the scorched tiles where the Ultimate Water Shuriken had deleted the air. "Next time, Ash... I’m not letting you hit fifty percent. I'm going for the 'Bite' myself."
Ash smirked, the "Bully" energy returning as he wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Gonna cry, Goh? You’ll need a lot more than 'Dark Smoke' to catch the King. But... that Dark Pyro-Ball? It actually made me sweat. Good work, Reaper."
Clemont walked onto the field, his tablet showing a jagged line of red data. "The mansion's integrity is at 82%. If you guys go to 100%, we're moving to the Moon for training.

They moved inside, Delia told Ash “What are you gonna wear now?”

Ash replied “Maybe one of the TEN of the same outfit that YOU packed me.”

"Ten?!" Serena let out a soft giggle, leaning against the obsidian doorframe. "Your mom really knows your 'style,' Ash. It’s either world-class formal or 'I’m about to delete an Anomaly' training gear. There is no in-between with you."
Delia huffed, crossing her arms with that maternal authority that could silence a 100,000 bHz resonance. "Well, excuse me for wanting my son to have spares! Do you have any idea how much soot and 'Obsidian' residue stays on fabric after a 50% power clash? I’m not spending my vacation in Kalos doing laundry every hour!"

Ash sighed, but the "Bully" smirk tugged at his lips. He looked down at the black compression shirt now scorched and damp from the spar and then at the row of identical outfits in his wardrobe. "Fine, Mom. You win. I’ll go change into 'Carbon Copy Number Two.'"

Goh, who was currently being fussed over by his own mother with a damp towel, looked up and smirked. "At least you have a brand, Ash. The 'King's Uniform.' It makes it easier for the criminals to identify who’s about to put them to sleep."
Clemont walked past, his eyes already glued back to his tablet. "Actually, the matte-black fabric provides a 15% better heat dissipation for high-frequency bHz pulses. Your mother accidentally picked the most aerodynamically sound vigilante gear in the region."

"Accidentally?" Delia winked at Grace. "I knew exactly what I was doing. A King has to look sharp even when he's sweating."

“If those shirts aren’t stylish and practical, I don’t know what i will wear for my ‘Queen’.”

Ash said with a sharp whistle, the "Bully" smirk playing on his lips as he checked his reflection. He adjusted the matte-black fabric of the compression shirt, feeling the reinforced seams that were built to contain 150,000 bHz of pure Obsidian pressure.

Serena leaned against the dresser, her blue eyes shimmering with a mix of pride and that "Obsidian" edge. "You look fine, Ash. Practical is the new 'King' style. “You tell me huh? If I hadn’t packed those you would’ve still looked like a kid with your jacket, so why not a change?” Delia smirked, “Miss Ketchum he looks hotter than the sun!” Serena smiled while sitting on the couch.
