Day 18
Bigtime review

out of a the villians i'd rank game canon n and any canon sada/turo as the most fame advoident. Let them do thier thing, and they are happy clams. Fame seems like a punishment and i could see it driving the professors of violet/sacrlet to entrenching themselves in deeper into area zero, and everything attached to it, to avoid the adoration/attention.

I feel like their fame heavily influenced their eventual paranoia. Did people take an interest in their research or only in their spotlight? What could they share with anyone that wouldn't be stolen? And so on.

Yeah that makes a ton of sense. And definitly encouraged so many bad decisions in canon. Nice in showing how it all dovetails together into the disaster train that was canon.

Day 19--Relaxation​

The intensity with which Miror B kicked the break room door open was in sharp contrast to his exhausted sigh of "so uncool..." a moment later.

"Long day, boss?"

He dropped his sparkling performance top on Trudly's head and flopped onto the couch. "That *darling* barkeep wouldn't know music if it bit him in his *generous* hindquarters!"

His lackey quickly set the garment aside and started massaging his boss's shoulders. "Same as always?"

"If disco is ever to truly die, it's because twits like that will kill it!"

Trudly didn't dare mention that disco had been considered dead for decades.

Day 20--Avoid​

"I told you, no encores..."

"Bro," Marnie sighed as she pulled the blanket off of Piers, "ya need to get yer arse out of bed. It's been ten hours they've been out there."

Piers stretched out before sitting up in his usual slumped posture. "God, I hate the press. Rose says one thing and they go wild, and Spikemuth gets the brunt again. Thought this would have stopped after he got that sparkly ankle bracelet..."

Marnie flopped next to him on the ratty old couch. "Yeah well, I'm the one they're after. New gym leader an' all."

"We'll order in."

Day 21--Quirk​

"And do you know the most important part of being a scientist is?"

The Plasma grunt tracked Colress's movements, or more specifically the movements of the bagel sandwich in Colress's gesturing hand. "A clean work environment, sir?"

"Unfettered curiosity!" He thrust his arms wide, sending a stray pickle slice flying. "Without wanting to know 'why', 'why not', we would never get anywhere! We never would have left the trees!"

"Could hardly imagine," the grunt murmured as a heavy dollop of mayo began to form a large droplet.

"Exactly! They could hardly imagine what they'd become!"

"Cleaner than this, I'd hope."

Day 22--Illustration​

"Are you all right? You stopped."

It had been well over a minute since Burgh had set his palette down. As kind as N seemed, he didn't dare paint the new king's portrait with a shaking hand. "Sorry, I've never been asked to depict royalty that wasn't the queen of a hive before."

"And she would ask it of you? You can hear the voices of pokémon?"

"Nothing so direct. What is that like?"

"I've never known any other way. Their voices have always been there."

"You'd never be lonely."

N looked off to the side, at nothing in particular.

Day 23--Companion​

Chimchar's eyes showed something Mitsumi couldn't understand. She knew of the concept, something Cyrus had always derided. There wasn't supposed to be any such thing as unconditional love. Everything was conditional, Cyrus had taught. Even the universe itself hinged on the whims of malevolent forces.

Such an illogical thing shouldn't exist, but it did exist and that was enough to break her entire worldview.

She felt it through her entire body, the shaking, confident *warmth* that came with accepting that wild affection, and fell to her knees still holding Chimchar. Thin arms hugged her, and she finally hugged back, sobbing.

Day 24--Sick Day​

"Chaaaaarm, let's go steal some medicine..."

"Not a chance, Coin," Charm murmured as she stoked the campfire. "We get within sixty yards of a guild merchant, our sneezes are gonna give us away."

Clover tried to add something but it came out as a series of incomprehensible noises from somewhere inside her piled blanket.

"And if we go picking, that Galaxy brat will track us down like a Paras on energy powder."

Coin pouted, pausing to wipe her nose on her armband. "We could use some energy powder right now..."

"That stuff'll kill you," Charm sniffed. "Galaxy doc uses arsenic."

Day 25--Walk

"It's weird to think that tomorrow, none of this will be here," Jupiter mused after taking a drink of her soda.

Beside her, Saturn crumpled his burger wrapper. "We'll see what Master Cyrus has in mind. I doubt it, but we might have fast food."

Her "no..." was lost in the evening air as they both slowed their walk to look around them.

Every building and every living thing in them, every alleyway and pokémon that darted in and out of them, every cloud that drifted overhead, even the sun setting beyond Veilstone, everything would be gone to Cyrus's ambition.

Day 26--Book​

"Hey hey hey!" Plumeria called with a strong clap to snap the attention of the surrounding grunts. "I don't wanna hear any of that 'Poindexter' or 'neeerrrr' shit around here, got it? A good education is key to gettin' ahead in the world! So you!" she pointed to one grunt in particular. "Give him his book back!"

The grunt sighed and handed a thick tome back to another. "I'm sorry..."

"That's more like it," Plumeria smiled. "Y'know, Big Boss Guzma is a big reader. Used to always have his big nose in some book or another about bugs."

"So cool!"

Day 27--City​

Some part of Molly's mind still expected to wake up in the crystal tower. It had been decades since that overwhelming experience as goddess of the Unown, but to some extent she was still that unstable child.

Her life had taken her to Goldenrod, replacing crystal with glass. It didn't even reflect the light the same way. But her memories didn't care.

"Papa!" a little girl in the park called merrily, and Molly was five years old again, calling out for that illusory beast as if it was her father.

A thick blanket at night could even feel like fur.

Day 28--Pondering

Maybe Giovanni would never see his home again. But it didn't matter. Every world had a weakness to exploit, and that meant he would succeed in time.

His gathered cadre of villains, brought from all corners of the multiverse, were starting to obey him. Some were the same as previous attempts, and were learning that there was no way out but obedience. The others would learn. They would have no choice.

"We stand together with a singular goal," he addressed firmly, "to subjugate this world in the name of Rainbow Rocket."

A redheaded boy in the back glowered at him.

Day 19 -23 reaction

Day 19

It might not be safe to ever mention Mirror B's pet passion has been dead for decades. It might start the mans path to darkness and tsking over a region to "correct" present tastes "bad decision" to let disco die...

Seriously whats up with japan and poking at disco, they do it a lot in the Zelda series too (thinking about windwaker specifically)...

Nice to see Mirrors grunts are smart enough not to challenge the status quo and get themselves sucked into things.

Day 20
I think team yell/the goth gym leaders is stretching "evil" about as hard as it can... just saying... but it is funny and fitting to see them hiding from thier fame and fans.
Though when Rose was name dropped... the gym leaders and whole League system really was his lackies, even if by association to him, weren't they, considering I think canonically he was helping sponser all of them...

Makes it pretty murky but considering swird/shield was pretty murky as a whole, it fits.


Day 21
Love how snarky the plasma grunt is. He seems like one of the smart ones that flocks to N in black/white 2 when he realizes they've been had and goes on a redemption arch...

I'm surprised Cloress hasn't killed someone via lab accident tbh via contaminants at the least. Or himself. How did he manage to live past black/white 1 to 2 without some accident occurring?


Day 22

Love how observant Burgh is. It's different from N, who is situationally hyper aware (for so many heartbreaking reasons) and the artist's awareness runs on an intellectual slant. There's a lot of social commentary with the painting, and how it's being handled. And one wonders if N actually had any choice on who did it or how it was done (Ghestis being wonderful like that), and that idea that he might per being manipulated or coerced into this situation twists the knife a bit. It makes one wonder how aware of N's situation Burgh is, considering the man's nerves.

Aww, it's nice to see Mit's growing a bit beyond her conditioning. While you get the sense in your work Cyrus means well, as well as he can considering everything, Mit's got a lot of extra struggles added on per her upbringing. Her bonding with cimchar feels like the first step to her healing from her Galactic past.

day 24 review

Funnily enough i got a crash course on these guys from a diffeeent mon fic. So despite not playing Arceus I have a loose grip on the cast.... I'm surprised they just don't fold and buy the meds to be honest. Being on the watch list of the 10 year old protag, Arc's chosen, plus a clan... yeah they might have to be honest until the'yre better, or they could send thier mon to steal I guess?

Ah well hopefully thier home remedies and time help them shake it off... but considering the times medical knowledge (aka the arsnic comment) it might be safer to hope thier autoimmune system

Day 25 review

Poor Saturn, the king of second thoughts and a certian authors fav chew toy during Charon's uprising.... Jup, seems a bit cautious about thier end game, worried, but both seem resigned that everything will be gone in the end and that its for the best... still I have to wonder, are they aware that Cyrus plans on deleating them too?

Day 26 review

Team skull always came across as familial in game canon, seeing the exec Plumeria acting as team mom and riding herd on a bunch of half feral kids is really sweet. Shes got the underlings pegged and has an ace in her hand. If she prefaces most of her "be better" speaches with a "Guzma said/did" the Skull kids likely would fall into line like eager ducklings.

Day 27 review

... Goddess of the unknown. This feels like a movei nod. As I have no knowledge thus piece sounds like a kid protag having to recover from the damage a villian did to them, rather than a villian centric piece by itself. Or at least distancing from the experience, but doing so imperfectly considering shes spending a lot of time comparing present to her (sketchy?) past

Day 28 review

Aww we are ending on a team rocket note? Nice to see Gio and crew again. And its rainbow rocket no less, so everyone is here. Even a slightly homicidal Silver lurking in the background. Per the lack of recognition I suspect conquering-Gio is not this redhead's dad.

Congrats on getting all of them done. It was a fun read from start to finish.
