This marks the unofficial soft "conclusion" of this RP, one full week past the projected end date. Not bad honestly, all things considered. I had lots of fun experimenting with this fomat and loved all the characters folks brought!

Thank you all for joining, and for your patience, since it went a little over, hah. Fantastic efforts all around by the players!

I will be posting a retrospective shortly, but as I said, please feel free to have your characters hang around! Characters can try to get some more clarity from Keldeo about his mind state before he was corrupted, or they can get final goodbyes in, or answer any other pressing questions.

When I do post the restrospective I'd very much love for everyone (even folks who didn't get a chance to hang around the whole way through) to give their thoughts! It will help a lot for future missions!

Mission 2: Fading Aria! Free Meloetta!​

Klefki once again cries out for help from brave souls across the multiverse! After some time, they've managed to open the door to another corrupted realm. This time, it's Meloetta's domain! With Terapagos' and Hoopa's help, they will summon interlopers to purify the suffering legend.

Meloetta is a graceful pokémon who lifts hearts with their song, but their powers have been perverted in unknown ways. Characters with strong ties to music, performance, or who believe in the power of words may feel a particular connection with this mission, but all are welcome!

The format for this mission will be similar to what was seen in the previous run, Errant Sword. This is a straightforward mission that will involve investigation, narrative puzzles, and combat. There are no content warnings besides canon-typical battle violence.

Projected Runtime
May 29th/31st - June 21st

The mission will begin May 29th with a weekend of casual RP, with the plot officially starting June 1st. The goal is for the game to run for three weeks, ending around June 21st.

Signups are open until May 31st!

Character Requirements:

Like the previous KttK mission, there are no particular character requirements this go-round! General guidelines remain mostly the same:

• Legends will be depowered
• Lone humans must obtain pokemon bodies (and will get basic instinctual use)
• Trainers can bring a single pokémon partner; if they do, they don't need a pokémon body. Supernatural human powers (e.g. psychic abilities) will be suppressed for this mission--trainers will want to rely on their pokémon for these things!
• Pokémon will be power scaled so that there isn't a large difference between "weak" species and "powerful" species. This is intended to allow any sort of pokémon to fight on fairly equal footing
• Otherwise, bring whoever you want! You can even devolve your characters as well if you feel like it.

Appearance: Otherwise pretty much a regular houndoom, but has a hair-like mane and two long floppy ears. See embedded image below for an illustration.
Personality: Not very social, but also not meek. Observant and analytical. Haunted by something in his past he tries to keep secret. Not a stranger to violence, but no longer wants to rely on it... unless the situation really calls for it, of course.

Personality: Laid-back, curious, and a bit of a prankster. She has no issues getting down and dirty and she's always seen noting down something in a journal she carries wherever she goes. Clearly, this is not her first rodeo as she seems to have an in-depth understanding of the multiverse.

Name: Raiki Hirose
Age: 47
Appearance: Middle aged man in his late forties, but that's fine, he's asian so he looks ten years younger at least. Black hair cut pretty short on the sides of his head, he wears an eye patch over his left eye. Always dressed sharply in a two piece suit and a tie, to hide the tattoos he got in his youth on his chest and back after some... Bad life decisions. Rarely seen without a sigarette hanging from his lips.
Personality: Usually loud and noisy, he uses that personality as a mask to hide a deep, long running self resentment for some bad decisions he did in his past. The incident that led to the loss of his eye also gave him a debilitating phobia for any and all Dragon types.
Now wanting in part to change his life around and also to atone for what he did in the past, he's an aspiring Pokémon breeder that specializes in raising Pokémon with small handicaps.
- Despite his appearance, he's a really good dancer.
- He also loves to sing, if "singing" means "getting drunk at karaoke and fumbling your favourite songs for an hour" (never said he's good at it, just that he likes it)
- Loves to fight, but never managed to join a real Dojo because of his attitude. He has a Ditto he trained to transform into a copy of him just so he could have a sparring partner.

Personality: Moody, silent and deeply mistrustful, due to having been abandoned by his previous trainer, he's still trying to recover from the scars (both physical and metaphorical) it left on him.
Species: Vulpix
Ability: Flash Fire
Moves (4): Disable, Extrasensory, Will- o- wisp, Fire spin
- Still a young Vulpix, it has only three tails with a still white tip. The growth of the tails was stumped when it got abandoned by his trainer at a very young age (probably hatched by an egg), and didn't get enough affection having to survive alone in the wild. It's not clear if they could ever heal or the missing tails still sprout.
- Sports a scar on his left eye, and a couple thinner ones on his back and front paws visible because no more fur grows over them.

Name: Fennel Steeltail
Appearance: He's got very light gray (almost beige) fur and darker than usual eyes, but other than that, he's just your standard Minccino. I'll include a photo of one below for a quick reference.
Personality: Cheerful, mischievous, loyal to his friends, but sometimes a little too cocky for his own good. He's quite good at getting himself into trouble, but (usually) manages to get himself out of it.

- Fennel is a thief by trade, so he's pretty decent at moving quietly, pickpocketing, picking locks, etc.
- He's not a great swimmer and detests getting wet.
- Humans are ancient history in his world, so he's unfamiliar with / might be baffled by many human customs.
- Contrary to the stereotype for his species, he hates cleaning or even touching filthy things or surfaces. He'll usually only do so for valuables, to remove his paw prints, or if he has to touch it for another reason (like to press a button or a switch). He'd rather keep himself clean!
- Although he can hold his own if needed, he prefers to avoid battling where possible.

Appearance: Just a normal Floatzel with the two dots all males have.
Personality: Despite his bad temper and short fuse, he does his best to be a trustworthy friend, chatting and having fun with others. A delinquent at heart, he enjoys his personal freedom. He just doesn't tolerate wastes of time. He's quite smart, too, preferring to find ways around problems if brute force doesn't immediately solve them.

Age: 13
Appearance: Nori is short, only around 133cm, but has a light build from being relatively in-shape. He has chestnut-colored hair that isn't quite neat but not messy either, and warm red eyes. Often dressed practically, but at the moment, he's in his green pajamas (he put his shoes on at least).
Personality: While he has a habit of attracting trouble (by his fault or not), Nori is outgoing and compassionate at heart. He can be reckless and is unafraid to complain, but it's always with good reason. He's been here once before so he's proven his worth. Something seems to be weighing on him heavily, but it evidently didn't stop him from coming here to help. He's the president of his school's news club, so he knows a thing or two about words.

Name: (The) Demon
Personality: She is fiery, tough, and loves fighting to get stronger with aggression that makes her species' male counterparts seem calm. Her experiences in the wild have left her jaded at best. Hates injustices and often dislikes/distrusts others because of it, and is especially apathetic towards gods. After all, she got branded a race traitor by her kind and ended up finding an ideal person, so the progenitor has to have some funny ideas to her. Nori is almost a kindred spirit at times; it helps he knows how to throw hands and isn't into the human sport of Pokemon Battles. She tolerates others when needed, can respect a fellow warrior, and can be surprisingly insightful. Her name comes from the media which Nori just eventually adopted for lack of ideas.
Species: Nidorina (o'Fyma). A stronger, larger, and spikier (even has a horn!) variant with an important role to play in their colonies.
Ability: Inner Focus
Moves (4): Poison Jab, Crunch, Body Slam, Double Kick
- Charming her instead triggers an enrage/taunt effect due to personality reasons.
- Inner Focus is just a placeholder. Haven't actually decided on an ability yet, but most of the canon ones were implied not to be the case.
- Practically speaking and due to the power adjustment, her uniqueness won't affect anything unless something with Intimidate shows up.
- Deftness of course is a kind of gracefulness...

Appearance: Is this necessary, how many times have I used her now? Very long blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail, green eyes, red single-shoulder top, black loose and wavy pencil skirt, black combat boots with red socks, black star necklace. See image below.
Personality: At the time she's being pulled from in my fic (far, far in the future), she's a bit more open with her emotions; not drastically, but she's been through enough shit by this point that she's starting to feel more numb about it rather than guarded. So long as she's not suffering, however, she plays nice with others. Can be a bit cheeky and/or snarky, but rarely means it in a derogatory way, even if she has a habit of sounding like it.
Any special notes, powers, skills, etc you want to note?: Nada. Unless you count skill at singing and a fairly decent guitarist, which perhaps may or may not be relevant to the mission at hand.

Personality: Effectively a canon 'jolly-nature'. Quite carefree and cheery. Tends to skip, twirl, or dance around, rather than straight walking; mildly irritated by slow walkers as a result, but you'd never know it. Prefers her role as a comfort 'mon than a battler, but is a fairly adept battler as well by necessity. Would still rather spend her time cheering others up, but will defend them if necessary, too.

Any special notes, skills, etc you want to note?: I don't know if it will be relevant due to Four Moveslot Syndrome, but she is also quite skilled at aroma therapy - usually for calming down her human, although would normally function in battle just fine for more traditional status-alleviating use. (Perhaps could just spin it as 'this is part of the pokemon's natural ability' the same way 'all gloom smell bad' or 'all flygon levitate' but eh, we'll see if it matters.) Also has been training to use triple axel, but hasn't quite gotten the hang of the cold energy required for it to be effective in battle yet. Looks cute when dancing, though.

Personality: Stoic, cold, blunt and rather distrustful of strangers, people of the other sex most of all. Is independent, observant and kind to people she trusts and secretly loves all things cute and cuddly. Keeps to herself otherwise.

Name: Melody? It's whatever. Once you’ve had the first thousand or so you start to lost track of them all.
Species: Mew

Appearance:
Yes, all of them!
In particular, they’ve been using one particular human form lately, which they’ll stick to here outside combat. A relatively androgynous Kantan woman, wearing distressed jeans, old black sneakers, a violet hoodie, and a pair of sky-blue headphones wired to an MP3 player.

Personality:
Older than time and desensitized to a lot of things, making them relaxed but passive and disconnected. Unlike their direct siblings (the creation trio) they still make an effort to keep up to date with the events and cultures of the time, and have a particular fondness for music. It's a comfortable habit from a guardian who's mostly been hands-off for most of their existence, something to fill their time with while they serve their role as a silent, unnoticed observer. Or at least, that's what they've doing for the last few millennia: More recently, they've been saddled with a second, more human layer of core memories and fears from their time being psych-suppressed and cut off from their old memories and abilities while Team Rocket tried to clone them. Even after escaping, reconciling with that is an ongoing project.

Age: 35
Appearance: Adonis but better. He’s so hot.
Personality: Cordial yet intimidating, domineering yet respectable. All things that describe Corbeau. As the boss of the feared Rust Syndicate, he’s aware he has to hold himself a certain way. That, of course, doesn’t cover cracks that spider out of control when things don’t go according to his exact plan—that’s a side of him most are wary to catch. His dry sense of humor and, most of all, his love for his Pokemon partners keep his “scariness” factor in check.

At this point in time, he’s found himself operating at the wits and whims of a much bigger criminal threat and he is not happy about it. At all. Unnaturally versed with a katana and hand-to-hand combat.

Name: Bellamy
Personality: An absolute snooty contrarian of a brat. Corbeau spoiled her for too long as a budew and now everyone has to deal with the consequences. She’s just amicable enough that she’s not completely insufferable to be around, but she toes the line regularly. Don’t underestimate her, though. That poison point of hers is particularly nasty, especially if you’re fucking with her trainer or brothers.
