As the team deliberated on what to do, it became clear that the best solution was simply to take on Soda as they could. They had no choice; if they were too slow, then it would spell the end for Cibus. They simply had to do everything they could.
"Please, do everything you can," Cresselia said. "We're trying to slow it down, but..."
"Nn... Nnnngh...!" Giovanni was putting an effort into it. Even he recognized that they had a mutual interest in saving the planet. His wings pulsed with light like a heartbeat, getting stronger and stronger. He kept a rhythm. Credit where it was due... he was doing his part. It also looked like, when it was over, he may be too tired to do any other antics immediately.
And then, Destiny Tower brightened amid the world's shaking.
"I am calling out to all creatures of Cibus..."
Pop. And more than just that, there was a new tinge to his voice, an echo that reverberated throughout their spirits, and it was like the whole world had stopped. Everyone knew, on some innate, core level, that this was Arceus speaking to them. It seemed that even the most wild of Pokemon would understand these words.
"A great calamity is approaching Cibus, and the world is in great peril. As we speak, heroes from other realms have gathered together to fight the perpetrator and halt the calamity in its tracks. But they alone cannot save Cibus, and it is up to us to keep our home intact. The world is shaking; the tides are rising; the balance between our moon and our world is deteriorating. As Cibus' new heroes save us all, we must help them from home.
"Save yourselves and your loved ones. Move to high ground and keep away from all buildings. To those of flight, evacuate all you can; to those of water, rescue all who drown. Preserve yourselves above all else; your material things can be replaced and restored, but not your lives.
"You will see around the world, silver-eyed gods."
Images flashed in their minds of several that Team Spectrum knew--Lugia, Dialga, Rayquaza... But their eyes were different. Featureless and instead glowing a pure, silver light.
"Whatever they say, you must follow. It is in your absolute best interest to obey any command they take, as it is in the interest of saving everyone. Cast away your conflicts and strife for but one day as we unify against a cataclysmic threat."
Dialga, Palkia, and all the other Legends looked toward one another and nodded. Buffet, too, looked skyward and closed his eyes. They all did. And for a brief second, they seemed to go limp while standing or floating upright. Then, a spark of light--and an overwhelming energy radiated from them. The next time their eyes opened, it was just as the images had shown. They held no expression; they had submitted directly to Pop's control, to become extensions of his domain. They must have agreed to it beforehand.
Even those foreign to
this Cibus were under the same trance. Balm and Cepa had the same looks.
Palkia pointed a claw at Dialga, and he disappeared. Then, Balm and Cepa, and they disappeared. One by one, Legends were sent across the world with Teleporters as the keystone managers.
"Thank you, and continue to hold Hope for all."
The words and presence faded, but Destiny Tower did not stop glowing. The battle for the world was at hand.
"It's ready!" Joule shouted back; the portal was about to open. "Team Spectrum! It's time to go! Good luck!"
