Be careful while you are here, said Diyem, his voice suddenly chiming in. Feral Pokemon do live in this area... but there are different levels of feral. Some Pokemon species, even when wild, are intelligent enough that the society here is hesitant to kill them. I will guide you.
Hunting wasn't very easy during a time of crisis. Even the feral Pokemon had evacuated for the most part--the smarter ones, at least. The more stubborn creatures, or the ones who were driven by habit and instinct than rationality, were left behind.
They happened upon a Staraptor, standing tall and proud. It looked at Brisa and Celeste with a predatory glint, but that faded seconds later as it continued to scan the ground. A lifeless Paras was under its left foot.
Staraptor are too strong for you, Diyem said, and some feel they are too intelligent. But the Paras near it is noncontroversial. Though, it's odd for it to be hunting for another... it must have a hatchling. Note its stance and the eyes. Small changes in head shape, too. That is the easiest way to tell a feral from a civilian.
If you're lucky, it will hunt for something else and leave this Paras behind for you to scavenge. Or, you can go elsewhere and hunt for a different Paras. I wouldn't fight this head-on, but it seems to recognize you as a civilian. They have long since learned not to attack unless provoked.
