"Like the oddish I met last time then?" Cynthian pondered, tapping the pen tip on the corner of the page.

Then why won't she meet me?

"Okay. I only have a few more things to ask so I'll keep them short. Do you know anything about the meteor that crashed not far from here months ago?" Cynthian winced and squeezed her vine around the pen till a small crack formed around it. Her eyes started to burn. "And where were you some days ago when our crew went to Worldcore?"

"Umm... I don't really know what you're talking about. I'm usually right here in the daycare... And, well, to your second question... I've been here!" Sunny nodded. "Um... Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'll be fine. I just need to lie down for a bit," Cynthian said, awkwardly shoving her notebook back into her bag. A numb ache spread from her chest and her legs felt weighed down by anvils when she turned around to leave.

"Thank you for your time, Sunny. I bid you a good day," she said, and then she walked out the entrance.

"Oh..." Sunny watched her go. "Well, um... Take care!" She waved awkwardly, then stepped outside to watch Cynthian go further for a little while longer. She sighed, then reentered the building and looked at the kids that had been watching her with concern. "Oh! Don't worry, everything's fine," she said, stepping inside. "Sometimes adults just have other things to worry about. That's all."
