With the posts logged here, we've reached a grand total of
44884 words!!
That's almost an entire average book we've collectively written!!
I'm sure there's even more that people haven't logged here, but still, we have smashed way past the threshold of 20k words for the event! Awesome job to everyone, no matter how many words you contributed!!
Since we reached Tier 1, I want everyone that took part in the event to post the following for their Mystery Egg reward:
- The
generation of the egg
- The
type of the egg
Note: to simplify things and help people "aiming" for specific Pokémon, generation refers exclusively to the Pokémon that were added in a specific game/Pokémon generation, not what region they are found in. So make extra sure to check when a certain Pokémon was added.
Yes, Slugma and Skarmory are Gen 2, doesn't matter that everyone remembers them as Gen 3 because you find them in Hoenn much more prominently than Johto
- If the Pokémon has two types in its base form, it will be found in eggs of its
primary (first) type. So yes, if you look really carefully at the Pokémon types of what you hope to get, that drastically increases the odds of something specific hatching from it! (A freaking Gen 4 Fire egg would have... An extremely limited egg pool lol) That's why I put being able to choose the gen *and* type as the Tier 1 reward.
If you have doubts about what generation a Pokémon is, either ask here or check the National Dex.
- Unique stuff like for example the Galarian legendary birds would be Gen 8, because while they are still an Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, they are still pretty much different subspecies and so different Pokémon.
How will the egg hatching work?
After the anniversary ends, I will reply to each request specifying how many possible Pokémon can come out of the choosen egg. Then I will roll a die or generate a random number to determine what comes out of it, and *then* I will generate a number between 1 and 3 to see if the Pokémon is shiny!
So to go back to the Gen 4 Fire egg from before:
It only has two possible candidates, Chimchar and Heatran. (Magmortar is Gen 4 but does not count because the base form is Gen 1)
So if 2 comes out, it's an Heatran. If then 1 comes out in the next random number, it will be a *shiny* Heatran!
