All is still in the Ilex Forest. The little shrine dedicated to the protector of the forest suddenly starts to glow, and with a flash of light, the elusive form of the time keeper appears. They drift around your Pokémon, seemingly challenging them to chase them around the forest, before disappearing with a light giggle. You hear Celebi's voice echo from deeper into the forest....
Welcome to the first event of the TR Writing Buddies!
In this first event, Celebi has mysteriously appeared and is challenging people to chase it all around Ilex Forest. The way to proceed is, of course, by writing words!
Once you reach Celebi by reaching certain word thresholds, they will leave, but not before leaving behind a bunch of
Mystery Eggs...
What is a Mystery Egg?
Legends say that when leaving for other times, Celebi will leave behind a Pokémon egg. These eggs could be from any point in time, and could contain pretty much
anything!
To win an egg, for the duration of the anniversary, once a day I will total all the words written in that day by all participants and see how far we've come. The prize will be determined by the highest tier reached at the end of the anniversary.
The tiers are as follows:
Tier 3: 10k words written in total between all users, rewards a Mystery Egg that can contain any Pokémon from any generation, randomly picked for each user. 1/10 chances to also be shiny.
All writing buddies also get +3 bonus levels
Tier 2: 15k words written in total between all users, rewards a Mystery Egg that can contain any Pokémon from one specific generation chosen by each user. 1/5 chances to be shiny. All writing buddies also get +4 bonus levels
Tier 1: 20k words written in total between all users, rewards a Mystery Egg that can contain any Pokémon from one specific generation and a specific type chosen by each user. 1/3 chances to be shiny. All writing buddies also get +5 bonus levels
Depending on the tier reached, there will also be small achievements to commemorate the event to put in your trainer card. And of course, bragging rights.
Once received at the end of the anniversary, I will make another post about how to handle the Mystery Eggs! If you don't want to assign them to any writing project right now, you can simply "box them" like you would in the games.
