A week. That was all the bedrest Brisa could tolerate allowing herself after the gyarados fight. One week, and not a day more.
It wasn't that it was a perpetual discomfort to be cooped up in the hidden quarters trying to avoid interacting with other folks... or it wasn't just that. It was that if she was resting up, she wasn't on the lookout for further threats. There would be further threats. The unkown disease. The mysterious fighting elsewhere. More berserk giant mon. She was sure of it.
She dragged herself out of the town and over to the Bluff, wanting to remember how she'd felt on the first day here, to spit out over the edge into the sea and feel that same feeling of confidence and reassurance. Without Curio this time — it would be humiliating if she struggled to make it to the Bluff unaided and Curio was around to see. She made it okay in the end, in any case.
But it looked like there were some folks already there.
She almost turned back, but... if they were all going to be sticking around a while, she ought to get comfortable around them. And hey, she knew Celeste. Sort of. The golett, not so much. And what's more, they reminded her of Gil...
Fuck it. She'd go say hi all the same.
"Uh, hey there you two!"
