Ivy perched upon her head, Petram alongside, the trio departed for other prospects. Ones that didn't involve flying, this time. Nor anyone trying to fly and ending up a ghost for their efforts...

A Meganium with an autumn-red leaf walked out of Treasure Town, heading towards Sharpedo Bluff. They'd heard that in this world, the human hero of the Grass Continent was a Meganium, just like them! That was so cool! Hopefully they were here. They wanted to meet them.

 

[Namohysip]

By luck, it seemed that, indeed, Thyme was present. It didn't look like anybody else was home--perhaps they'd gone on an outing while he stayed behind to clean the place up. Now that winter was quickly coming to an end, perhaps he wanted to get a head start on spring cleaning.

The Meganium was atop Sharpedo Bluff, inspecting the bushes near the cliffside with his vines.

 

[IFBench]

"Hi!" Saltriv said, waving their leaf while approaching the other Meganium. "You're Thyme, right?"

 

[Namohysip]

Thyme glanced toward Saltriv. "Oh, hey," he greeted with a nod. "You, uh... Right, Team Spectrum." He eyed the leaf, but then nodded. "Yeah, I'm Thyme. If you're looking for Pepper or the kids, they're out shopping."

 

[IFBench]

"You're the human hero of the Air Continent in this world, right?" Saltriv asked, smiling.

 

[Namohysip]

"That's me," Thyme said fully, returning to his cleanup as he listened. "You, uh, a fan or something?" Been a while.

 

[IFBench]

"Sort of!" Saltriv said. "I knew the version of you from my world, though I don't know much about you in this world. You seem really different than Apoyime, though."

Their expression grew uneasy, as they prepared to ask one of the questions they came to the bluff for. They took a deep breath, before speaking.

"Do you know about the Thunder Continent?" they asked at last.

If the greatest explorers in all the world hadn't heard of their home...then maybe it just didn't exist here.

 

[Namohysip]

"Thunder Continent?" repeated Thyme, humming. "Nope. Must be one that only your world has or something." He bobbed his head, satisfied with this bush, and moved on to the next. "Guess we can't expect every world to be the same."

 

[IFBench]

Oh.

Of all the continents, why did it have to be their home continent that didn't exist here?

They missed home.

They almost turned and walked away right then, but decided to ask another burning question that was on their mind.

"Do you know the other Omen Heroes?" they asked.

 

[Namohysip]

"Yeah, we know each other," Thyme said. "Not too long after the Dark Matter crisis, we sort of reached out to each other after realizing that we all sorta did the same thing at different times. I don't know them too well, but, you know, we write each other and stuff."

 

[IFBench]

Despite so much changing, some things still remained the same. Saltriv smiled.

"Well, thanks for talking with me!" they said, waving their leaf.

 

[Namohysip]

"Wh-uh." Thyme usually expected an autograph or something after that. Then again, this was Team Spectrum, the 'current' Omen Heroes, even if they were a little unorthodox. The Meganium stopped working the bush to face Saltriv properly. "Yeah, uh, no problem. Heading back for more world-saving stuff?"

 

[IFBench]

"Yep! I need to go check back up on Sword," Saltriv said, before beginning to turn to leave. Midway through, they stopped, as an idea popped into their mind.

Turning back to Thyme, they asked, "By the way, have you ever heard of any amnesiac Pokemon that weren't humans? Like, a Pokemon who has as much amnesia as a normal former human does, except without being a human? To the point of not even remembering how to use moves?"

 

[Namohysip]

"Uh... Yeah, actually." Thyme nodded. "That'd be Nutmeg, Pita's partner on the Water Continent. She used to be Mew during ancient times, but had her memories sealed so Dark Matter couldn't take advantage of dark memories that gave him power to begin with, or something."

 

[IFBench]

Huh, yeah, that does kind of line up. Maybe Gen was another former legendary with sealed memories?

But Gen couldn't have been a legendary. As much as they liked him, he was so weak, while legends were so strong. Even Leviene, the former Mew of their own world, at least knew Tackle from the beginning.

Speaking of former Mews, though...

"Do you know how severe their amnesia was? Like, did they at least remember what mystery dungeons are?" Saltriv asked.

 

[Namohysip]

"Not really," Thyme said. "From what I was told, it was practically some kind of... reincarnation. So, she didn't really have any memories for a while. I figure they might have some basic memories, but probably nothing more than instincts, if I had to guess."

 

[IFBench]

Huh, that was odd...Gen definitely had more than just instincts. Something wasn't adding up here.

"Thanks for the help!" Saltriv said, waving their leaf as they turned to leave.

 

[Namohysip]

"Yeah, good luck," Thyme said. "...Weird kid." His antennae bobbed above him, and then he looked at Saltriv's leaf. He wondered what that'd be like. Oh well.

He returned to cleaning.
