The fact that now there are people considering the possibility of me being drunk or poisoned, when they wouldn’t give it the time of day earlier, is massively suspicious to me. Of course it’s easy to change tune after I’m dead. It does nothing for town at that point.

Morgan stared blankly into the space behind Rui, approximating where the guardian's 'voice' seemed to be coming from.

"You are now being taken as drunk or poisoned because someone's reasonably well-substantiated hardclaim included you as town. Also, I disagree that deciding your innocence after you die is useless. It confirms you as town, which means we don't have look at this and decide whether you've rated an entire evil team's worth of people as more suspicious than Madeline because you're upset your charge lost her emera, or are pushing a scum agenda in defence of Madeline. Which is what I would otherwise be doing right now."

And it would be useful again if the cat saved her ghostvote for the endgame, since deciding which ghostvotes are from evil and therefore probably not voting for their demon could be an important factor in solving tricky endgames. But that was a matter for another time...

But that does make it very curious that another player is reading me as scummy… How curious.

Well, I suspect my emera isn’t long for this world in any case. I know how suspect the truth looks. The most I can do is submit it for consideration and rely on slightly more than blind luck to vindicate me.

Ah yeah what was going on yesterday! That's a good question! I have an answer.

As for what my ability is... I could say it, but I think it might be better for us to keep it ambiguous, because it could be one of the abilities where I get information at the beginning of the game and none later, or it could be one of the abilities that I can use every night, and if the evils don't know which one it is, then they could waste a night poisoning/killing me, or by not poisoning/killing me. But maybe I should just say it?? Gah.

I wanted to keep it ambiguous whether I was the Empath or Washerwoman or Librarian, who would be able to have the information to back up Rui. I softclaimed one of those roles by being able to corroborate Rui's information, but I didn't want it to be obvious which one I was. For example if the mafia thought I was Washerwoman (before Hareta claimed), then they wouldn't gain anything by poisoning or killing me, so I would slip under the radar and be able to have a second use of sensing my neighbors. Regardless of my plans, I wasn't going to claim on D1 because I didn't trust one day's readings enough to come forth and claim on the very first day - that almost guarantees that I'll not be able to get a second Empath check, and I had no idea if I was poisoned or drunk.

I think the question I have was whether I was baffling enough to the Mafia for them to notice/consider me as a poisoning/kill target for this night. It sounded like Morgan and Rocky got the hints I was putting down, and Odette, Rui, and Dave didn't. I'm guessing I might've slipped under the Mafia's radar if more pokemon didn't notice than they did...

"If they have a Spy, they would know the game setup. Why, then, would they target a Soldier? Why, if they knew who the Monk was, would they not first kill the Monk? Why would they decide not to kill anyone if they knew who they could safely kill? I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief that it seems less plausible that they have a Spy than not. For this reason, I am now more willing to trust the Squirtle, incidentally."

Elgyem was also wondering about what happened last night, and agrees with Malachai's logic. The Demon either hit the Soldier, who didn't die, or hit someone who the Monk protected, so no one died. There wouldn't be any reason for the Demons to intentionally not kill anyone, right?

Night zero, I picked my neighbours and found a demon. Night one, I did a replication experiment: Rocky, who’s not townsfolk and therefore can’t be chosen as my false positive, and Madeline again.”

... Impressive. That evidence does make me feel more confident in my vote. Also, I feel like I've been wanting to /w whisper to Morgan this entire game.

Ngl usually I’m a lot more on top of all the details like this and spend the night phase rereading and taking notes. but if I’m being honest, I checked out pretty hard after the way day 1 ended. I’m trying to approach this game much, much more casually than I’ve done other games in the past but I fear that’s just coming back to bite me, heh]]

That... is a good point [[lol]]. In my defense I will say that the votes were like 7/2 for Rui at that point, so my vote wouldn't have mattered either way. My vote came out of the spy idea I was considering last night and thinking my N0 info was compromised, but since it didn't matter... It would've been better if I didn't vote at all, it sounds like?

"Oh, you heard correctly~ I knew that if I didn't get Elegym's eyes on you, I'd never know for sure if you were the demon, or my false positive. You'd have claimed to be my false positive, and frankly, it could easily have been true. If I'd heard they got a 0 again despite reading you as a demon, at least I'd be pretty sure of where my false positive was. Elegym was the only way I could determine which one you were. And the unlucky cat just so happened to be in my way. Should I have argued her innocence? It was clear that she was going to have a majority vote against her either way, and it was in violation of what I believed to be our best interests to stop it. I don't make a practice of fighting losing battles for no reason, and the only way to argue her innocence and justify executing her anyway would be to try to hardclaim my and Elegym's roles to make it make sense."

After the Virgin reveal, Malachai voted Hareta, Drake did some waffling where he voted you initially, then Rocky voted Hareta, then Drake also moved to Hareta instead. After that I voted for you, then even after that Odette voted for Hareta, although obviously she was doing it for innocent reasons. After that Madeline voted for you and the train for you picked up from there."

Yes, definitely agree here. I don’t feel confident voting for anyone right now and will definitely not use my vote unless/until absolutely crucial for town.

It’s not just about your vote, it’s that you didn’t say anything when you supposedly had evidence of my innocence. Not only did you not share, you voted FOR me despite (again, supposedly) knowing otherwise. This is very sus behavior to me!

Re: timezone shenanigans, I definitely don’t want to hold it against people unfairly or rely on it more than in-game evidence. However, Dave did start the vote train on me and it feels…odd to accuse me of an insanely reckless scum play when there were plenty of much more reasonable explanations very readily available. Yes, technically Hareta started the vote train, but I’m 100% certain it was a retaliatory vote more than anything.

Thus, my suspicion on Dave remains and Elgyem is now Hard Sus to me.]]

Hmm, I did though! ... is what I was going to say but I reread what I wrote and

... okay. I can corroborate Rui's claim with my ability. With the particulars of my ability and the power of logic, I strongly believe that Watt is the Scarlet Woman, and Hareta is innocent.

It's true that I didn't. I was worrying over my wording quite a bit because if I were to say directly that Rui and Hareta were innocent, then that would ascertain that I was the Empath, which I wanted to avoid (it felt VERY obvious that I was sitting right next to Rui and Hareta, the two people I would be claiming as innocent, which would make it super obvious that I was the Empath who had information about the people next to me rather than the Washerwoman/Librarian), but obviously that's not a solid claim of Rui's innocence that I could've made. My consideration at the time was that it would be obvious that you were an investigator if Watt was guilty, but if you were a Spy, then you could have been lying about your targets while also appearing innocent to my checking, because Spy would read as innocent. ... And then since Watt was innocent, that called into question whether Rui was innocent. If Rui was telling the truth and there was nothing going on, then Watt or Hareta should have been guilty. But that didn't happen. Based on our shared information, one or both of us were compromised.

... or we got unlucky with a drunk investigator. The more you talk the more I feel like you're innocent rather than making an insane play though? So I'll vouch for Rui being innocent now, as penance for my mistakes, even if that puts me under fire.

I was a bit leery of poison at first, but after reading Morgan's experiment I'm very convinced that I couldn't have been poisoned. Also as an added bonus, if Rui's the drunk then I can't be. I guess technically she could be evil and I could be drunk, but I thiiiink that's actually straight-up incompatible with both Morgan and Elgyem's inspections.]]

I’m well within my right to question why 1) so many were so content to let two town members die D1 over a very far-fetched galaxy brained theory and 2) why on earth anybody would have actual proof of my innocence and not provide it if they were town.

If Rui was telling the truth and there was nothing going on, then Watt or Hareta should have been guilty. But that didn't happen. Based on our shared information, one or both of us were compromised.

But regardless if one (or even both of us) were compromised, that doesn’t change our innocence or alignment. A Drunk is not anti-Town! And being Poisoned doesn’t change one’s alignment, either. So this still doesn’t explain why you wouldn’t reveal this info?

Idk maybe I’m projecting my own playstyle too hard. If I had strong reason to believe someone was innocent, I wouldn’t stay silent. But maybe I’m tunneling. I’m just trying to make sense of why you played the way you did.

"If you are as you say, and you have a clear suspect, then why would you not do it sooner rather than later? There's no detriment to town if the shot goes astray, correct? Other than the lost opportunity to fire at a better suspect. Resolving the situation early would give us more time to think."
