"It's ethereal in nature," Wishkeeper said, giving Ivy a pensive look, narrowing his eyes. "If I get too excited, or I'm in a battle, it burns hot. You should... be careful about that sort of thing." Wishkeeper cleared his throat, then continued forward. "So, Ivy. Do you know anything about who or what you're based on, coming from Cynthian?"

Wishkeeper frowned, but then decided it wouldn't be worth pursuing. Ivy was happy, at least. Cynthian... Perhaps he could help him later.

"It's to help differentiate the two personalities," Wishkeeper said. "Owen and I are of the same spirit, and technically of the same mind. The Shadows... fragmented us. I am his past, and he is my present. Due to... a number of circumstances, we are very distinct. Even our speech patterns are different... though I do slip into his present accent now and then. I prefer not to." He looked ahead, scanning the crowd. Cal was somewhere nearby, probably hiding in some alcove. "I get the feeling that his casual manner of speech is what leads to so many people not taking us seriously. Nobody believes an optimist."

"Whoa, that sounds so cool! You're definitely worthy of being great and mighty just like Ivy!" Ivy said, patting him on the shoulder with her claw.
"I get the feeling that his casual manner of speech is what leads to so many people not taking us seriously. Nobody believes an optimist."

"That's awful! Everyone should believe the great and mighty Owen Wishkeeper." She kicked a small pebble into a nearby wall and harumphed. "At least I do! Great and mighty think alike!"

"...It's technically Wishkeeper Owen, not..." He cleared his throat. "I'm neither great nor mighty. At least, I do not think of myself as that--I'm just another member on the team fighting toward the same goal. A lot of us on the team were leaders of another back home; it's better if I not butt heads with anybody over something like that." He caught a golden ember in his peripheral vision and hid his smile. "...Ivy, why don't we get something to eat? I heard that there is a fried mochi stand nearby."

Wishkeeper grinned. "Then let's get some mochi."

It was a short walk through the small crowd, most of the passerby citizens giving them a spare glance or two, but after so much time in Destiny Village, they didn't get much more than that. They were just 'those odd outsiders' or 'the not-Dark Matters.' Rumors must have spread quickly after that match against Rayquaza and the others...

"It looks like they have different flavors," Wishkeeper said after purchasing a few. "Pick two. I have six here." He held out the sticks, each one enough to count as a decently sized smack. Each stick held three lumpy spheres of some kind of sticky, sweet treat. They were different colors and had noticeably different smells, too--Oran, Pecha, even some proper fruits like apple, melon, or banana...

Cal peered out from around the corner, her shadowy claws squeezing into the stone.

"They're all pretty and smell so good too! Very well, Wishkeeper, Ivy shall humbly accept this offering!" Ivy extended two vines from her stubby arm and collected the Melon and Pecha flavors.

She opened her mouth wide to reveal her sharp rows of teeth and shoved the mochi, sticks and all, down the hatch. An explosion of sweet and syrupy flavors went off in her mouth at once and her eyes glowed a bit brighter from joy.

"This really is so much better than the trash can bread! Can Ivy have more?!" she asked, beaming up at Wishkeeper like a tamed puppy.

Wishkeeper looked unnerved at first, but forced a lopsided smile anyway. "Well, er, I suppose--"

"Now, hang on just a second!" Cal called, marching toward them with her ember blazing. "What's the big idea, huh? Going around with a new Ultra Shade just because I ran off?"

"You see, Ivy, I got two for each of us," Wishkeeper explained smoothly, , flashing the four remaining sticks to Cal, who flinched.

"You... you tricked me!" Cal pointed. "You were doing this all along just to--"

"Did you want to pick two, Cal?" Wishkeeper asked, tilting his head.

Cal bristled, golden embers bobbing, until she grumbled and muttered a few things while taking two for herself.

"You must be Cal! You're like Ivy too!" Ivy said, gleefully waving at the angry approaching lizard.

"You see, Ivy, I got two for each of us," Wishkeeper explained smoothly, , flashing the four remaining sticks to Cal, who flinched.

"Okay... That's alright. ᵀʰᵉ ᴳʳᵉᵃᵗ ᵃⁿᵈ ᴹᶦᵍʰᵗʸ ᶜᵃⁿ ˢʰᵃʳᵉ ᵗᵒᵒ," Ivy said, now eyeing the mochi food stall. "I must bring Soul here! Soul must try some of these mochi things!"

"It's still winter, though! If it weren't for all the nightmares, we'd still be asleep right now. I had to wake him up early." Ivy said with a neutral expression.

"At least we got mochi things by speeding up the schedule!" Ivy walked over to Cal and poked her tail flame too. "Ha! This one doesn't burn either. Weird fire!"

"Hey!" Cal flicked her tail away. "That's personal! It's like, my projection source or something. Or another eye. I don't know."

"It's mimicking a Charmander's flame," Wishkeeper remarked, but then glanced skyward. "...Hmm. Owen wants to return. I suppose I'll be speaking with you all later."

The black patterns shrank away and his flame returned to normal. He blinked a few time, and then cleared his throat. "So, uhh... good mochi?" he asked, taking his first bite.

The sky was purple, but Tricky was trying not to think about that. That was becoming a running theme ever since she'd been pulled into this--what's that, black shade creatures were running around and corrupting pokemon? Don't think about it. The shades were corrupting legendaries now, and some guy called Giovanni was pulling the strings? Don't think about it. Darkwhite was somehow three different pokemon, and now there was a big dragon in the sky that was going to wipe them all out soon? It isn't your problem. Just don't think about it and go have fun.

So that's why she went to Pasta Plaza. This place was supposed to be bustling with things to do and distractions to catch her attention on any normal day, but today it was quieter than usual. She supposed she should have seen it coming, given that thing she wasn't supposed to think about, but that didn't mean she had to happy about it. She folded her arms, sat down in some random nook of the square, and watched the pokemon in the square attend to their business in front of her. She grew weary of that quicker than she'd sat down to do it.

"This is boring..." she couldn't help but sigh.

When people left the group pow-wow, Esper went off in search of fabulous sunglasses. After running up an exorbitant tab on Maple's behalf, he emerged from a boutique carrying a bag practically overflowing with sunglasses. And that wasn't counting the three pairs on his conical head.

He would've brought them back to the guild but he saw one of the Spectrum folk sulking in the middle of the place. "Hey, hey, why the long face? Still in denial about the impending apocalypse? I hear that's a sweet river in Egypt."

"I'm not sure about that, actually." Esper looked at the bag. "But, like, if you guys are going to have a big ol' ultimate anime fight of ultimate destiny with a giant light dragon, you're probably going to want sunglasses."

He took a pair out of the bag and tossed them to Tricky.
