[[…oh. When you put it like that…HECK.
Shoot I just thought of something…what if Equi is hostile third party? And he can communicate with aliens to try to find them so he knows who is bulletproof? I felt like his fervent questioning of my role was a tad weird (though I won’t hold that against him because all these roles are weird and WHY do we have so many messengers) but this makes a lot of sense. He knows enough about aliens to fake claim as one, all while he tries to sniff out the other aliens and present as friendly???
Idk maybe this is crazy. I’m not gonna vote for him today because this is literally just a lightbulb “what if” theory that went off in my head annnnd maybe I’m galaxy-braining here—someone please tell me if I am, lol. But…it’s possible???]]
Steven shook his head. Unless Amy had forged a lot of their info, it didn't make sense. From what she had told him about the way her communication worked, there was no way for her to get any sort of information about another Alien's powers. "Their communication is similar to the way the Telemarketer works. In code."
"However, I
do agree that there is a distinct possibility of one of the Aliens being mafia aligned, or have a win-con that is aligned with eliminating Town and maybe even their fellow Aliens. It seems as if your role, Rui, was it? Your role is one designed to reach out and connect with Aliens via one-way communication, and the Aliens, as I understand it, can only contact their own species, but with some kind of code."
Steven was pacing now, theories tumbling out. He'd had a lot of time to think, and figured at this point he might as well say what's on his mind. "So, coupled with the Telemarketer's info, there seems to be a common thread of players confirming each other and using that information to sus out those who are not part of the communication loop. This leads me to believe this game is meant to be solved over time, as players figure out how to connect with each other and what that connection means."
"Still, I am concerned about voting someone out today. With so much information circulating among the players, losing one link in the communication by mistake is a huge blow for anti-mafia factions. I would rather hunt mafia players first, as if it comes down to it, I have a very good idea of who those in the Alien faction are."
"Because of that, I choose to
abstain from voting today. If we do lose two players in the night, we'll be right where we'd be if one player had died each night. In return we gain more information, specifically a mechanical confirmation of innocence from our Telemarketer."
"Speaking of..." Steven finally stopped pacing and raised his voice slightly, so that he could be heard no matter where the person might have been. "
Telemarketer, I'm not entirely sure how your powers work, but if you can grant Town an extra boon along with your message tonight, please use a color in your message to deliver any extra information you may have about what we may ask, what your powers are, or what you can share with us to help prove another's innocence."
