Winds and Waves chat: Predictions, Leaks, and Wants

Ever since the reveal trailer for Pokémon Winds and Waves came, I have been hard at work analysing the frame and leaks for anything that might come. But I have noticed there ISN'T a thread for any talk on this upcoming (Is it upcoming if it's in 2027?), so this also doubles as that chat. As the title says, this is talk on predictions, leaks, and what you want for Pokémon Winds and Waves.

My personal wants/predictions:

While people think that Pombon is going to be Fire/Fighting, I think that it would fit more for Fire/Fairy. This type trio would also include Grass/Flying (Fitting for a Grass Bird) and a choice of Water/Ghost or Water/Psychic (I could see both for Gecqua).

What Pokémon is known for both winds and waves? Lugia. It should be in game, even if it's not one of the main ones.

Did you see that dragon storm in the trailer? Watch out for special Gyarados/Drampa in the future.

If the leaks are true and sea exploration is a thing, I would love to see some ignored fish Pokemon get a revamp. Some of my personal favorite ideas are more Shellos/Gastrodon forms, a cross-gen Lanturn or Luvdisc Evo (or a regional form of Luvdisc based on a broken heart), and fossil Pokemon for sea monsters (we need Ichthyosaur and Plesiosaur Pokemon!).

Some real ones I would like to see are a Poison type one braised on the Industrial age, a Fairy type Victorian age one, and a Space age Flying type braised on a spaceship.

I'm hoping for SEA culture and things. I'm always hoping for environmentalism, pollution, mining exploitation etc. from gen 1/2. My sickest hope is that there's going to be Jakarta trash mountain which I feel is quintessentially poison-type, a humanmade phenomenon as part of the environmet now rather than an ideal pastoral fantasy.

I feel like those are more coincidental than specifically pertaining to Ages, but I agree on ghost isn't a material. Still trying to figure out Regidraco myself though - is that Dark/Medieval age? It is the metaphorical embodiment of all dragons, which should include Eastern dragons and related stuff too idk.

I honestly don't know that I have much in the way of predictions or hopes at this point, with how little information we've gotten so far. Surprise me, GameFreak! Do something crazy!

In a more practical vein, assuming they're doing another open-world game, I do hope they improve the environmental design over what they had in SV. There were a lot of areas of Paldea that I felt like I had no real reason to visit, especially after I'd largely completed the pokédex. They made a big world, but to me it felt like they had a hard time coming up with interesting things to put in it! I think both PLA and PLZA did a much better job of environmental design than SV (or the wild area in SwSh, which I straight up disliked), so I hope they can apply some of the principles of those games to WW.

Also, let me go inside buildings again, dangit.

I just want what I've wanted every gen, which is a bunch of cool new Pokemon designs - whether they're brand new Pokemon, regional forms or new gimmick forms. I think those are legitimately more exciting to me than the game itself. But of course I'd like the game to be great, too.
