What is It?
What if there existed a place, a pocket of space where you were free to be as you pleased, where meddling ten year olds and do gooders wouldn’t interrupt your sinister plans for world domination or rewriting the universe? Where your plans of expanding the glorious land we all lived on, snacking on humans, or unleashing eldritch abominations from the basement wouldn’t be scorned? A place to be heard, uwu.
Welcome to the Villains Pub!
Villains Pub is an RP space centered around RPing as the villains of our stories (whether they be the protagonist or antagonist) in a semi-relaxed, casual setting. As the name implies, this is basically a ‘pub’ in the multiverse, a little pocket dimension that villains can access for a drink and a conversation, or just to chill out. RPers can flesh out their villains through interactions with other villains.
The idea was wholesale ripped off of How it Should Have Ended shorts about the ‘Villain pub’
Villain Pub Compilation - Volume One - YouTube
Given the idea behind this RP is villain centric, it's not really intended for reformed or secretly good guys. This is a place to be bad >:3
It is intended to be an open ended RP, hop in hop out, welcome to anyone. Community led, as opposed to a one-time structured campaign or momentary flash rp. Players can plan OOC who to use, and have small scenes in the RP thread. (Think similar to the 'general RP' already on the forums). There’s no plot here or overarching narrative, just a villain-centric hangout. Scenes can be group or one-on-one, at the prerogative of the participants.
Also, just to be clear, I am just organizing this! I'm not a GM, just an organizer providing a space for this. You do not need my approval for characters or scenes, unless you're doing something that might violate or brush against TR rules, in which case speak to a mod. Feel free to speak to individual players if you have specific scenes in mind, as I am one person and will definitely not always be able to RP.
Introduction
How the envelope finds you is a mystery. Somehow, no matter who you are, or where you live, it finds you. In your mailbox, on your desk, inside your nest, or perhaps it simply drops from the sky.
Even more oddly, your name is on it. Yet there’s no indication who sent it. Inside the envelope is a fancy embellished pin in the shape of a gold and red moon. The note that comes with it is short:
There is nothing else in the envelope. Whether curious, afraid or filled with righteous indignation, at some point you simply cannot resist trying. So you hold the badge and speak the word, and the world around you melts away, and for a moment you are floating, your vision a web of strange white lines.
And then you are once more back on solid ground in the strangest place.
To some, you recognize it as a bar or a pub. A place to gather and drink and be merry. Quite a large bar too. The aesthetic feels both modern and ancient, timeless and cozy; blending wood and stone and tech. Its filled with tables and chairs for all sizes. At the far side of the bar, behind the large counter, a shining blood red Lunala floats, its piercing gaze seemingly cutting right through you. Behind it are shelves of bottles filled with colorful liquids and beyond that, a kitchen where delightful aromas drift from.
If you approach, they address you with an oddly soft, melodious voice, yet one that seems to carry an edge. “Welcome to the Crimson Crescent.” Seemingly anticipating a question, she continues. “This place is my private domain. Here you are safe to speak and be as you please, without moral judgment. You may stay as long as you like, providing you abide by the rules. When you are ready to return home, you must simply speak the word again, and you will return as if only a moment had passed.” She dips her head and turns to gesture with one wing to a sign above the bar.
Fascinating.... Well, you might as well check this place out.

- Do not destroy the property
- Resurrecting people is annoying. Don’t murder anyone.
- Clean up after yourself. Or else.
- Tip well. Or Else.
Fascinating.... Well, you might as well check this place out.
Rules
- Characters must be a villain. There are no exceptions. Characters who are grumpy aren’t villains, nor is the usual say, grouchy guy with a good heart. Anti-heros aren’t really villains either, or good people coerced into doing something bad. A few notes:
- They don’t have to actually believe they’re the villain, nor do they need to be a supervillain or world domination level but they should still be villainous in some form (so like, Hunter J or Rose or Maxie are villains, but canon!Silver is not, nor would canon!Team Star be)
- In essence, they should be wicked, evil, malignant, cruel, etc, as opposed to ‘jerk with a heart of gold’ types (such as canon!Wes). Think like the villain pov contest.
- A reformed villain is not a villain. You can play a non reformed version of them though (e.g. Reformed!Lusamine wouldn’t be allowed, but Villain!Lusamine would)
- If you’re not sure, feel free to ask me!
- That said, all villains are welcomed, from small to big time, trainer, PMD, pokemon, etc. However, they should be tied to the pokemon franchise in some way, whether as an OC or canon, etc
- No godmodding. Never imply a reaction or write another person’s character for them, unless you pre-approved something with your partner (this includes things like ‘Giovanni took a swing at Rose, and Rose flinched’. You shouldn’t imply Rose would flinch, or any other reaction, without permission).
- Keep things PG-13. Stay within general server rules. Violence, implied violence, and blood is fine. Discussions of gore or heavy sexual themes etc should be tagged or avoided entirely.
- Keep the RP in the RP. Don’t get personal or take anything personally in RP, particularly villains. What happens IC isn’t a reflection of anything OOC
- Please spell check your posts. I don’t expect perfect grammar or no typos, but it should be reasonably coherent. If grammar is tough for you, most basic spell check programs will catch the worst errors! Doing this helps your partner!
- For the sake of consistency, please write in 3rd person past tense (he said, pikachu jumped, they ran, etc)
- If you read and understand the rules, please include a ‘I read and understand the rules’ in your signup
- There is only one RP thread planned and may be used by multiple people, so do feel free to use the reply function to keep things clear
- On that note, you're not obliged to acknowledge another RPer unless you want to, you can keep scenes between your own characters)
- Do not interject into a scene between two RPers without their consent. You can start your own with someone else or wait your turn
- For simplicity, please only have one active scene per user at a time
- If something someone does makes you uncomfortable, please inform a mod
IC
- Please refrain from actual killing/murder, unless pre-discussed between RPers. A good ole bar brawl is fun and fine, but keep in mind anything beyond that is something the Bartender/Bouncers wouldn’t permit, generally. We’re villains here but we’re in this together, heh.
- Wounds inflicted here heal mysteriously swiftly (a broken arm might mend in like... ten minutes, a bad gash in a couple). Any attempts to kill someone will result in your gracious host being very annoyed. She doesn’t seem to mind fighting though
- Feel free to make up whatever drinks/food you want! Characters will find that Lunala is even able to recreate dishes and drinks from their respective universes
- Everything seems to be surprisingly low cost and all forms of currency are accepted
- Universal language translation is in effect. Anything spoken will simply be heard in the character's tongue/instinctively understood. This applies to pokemon villains too
- Despite the wooden aesthetic, nothing seems to burn, fortunately
- The bar is pretty big, and there’s accommodations for different size pokemon in tables and chairs.
- High powered characters (like legendaries, etc) will find they don’t have full access to their powers here (i.e. Dialga would find he can no longer control time, even though he remains very strong)
- Gigantic legendaries would find that their size is slightly reduced to a more manageable one that can fit in the bar
- The bar seems perpetually empty save for Lunala and whatever other villains happen to be around, and a Malamar in the kitchen
- Attempting to exit the bar or look out the windows will reveal and endless starry void and leaving will send your character home as well
- While the Crimson Lunala is my character, you are free to imply simple interactions, like Malamar bringing food or drinks to a table, etc

This is a loose example signup, but you don’t have to include everything if you don’t feel like it! It is helpful, however, to give your RP partner an overview. At the very least your signup should include things like Name, Age, Personality. However you don't need my approval! Signups are just so prospective RPers can see your character!

How to be a great RP Partner
I’ll point folks over to https://forums.thousandroads.net/index.php?threads/rules-mechanics.1150/ and the section ‘a helpful guide to RPing’ in which I outline some advice. Some further principles to abide by:
Try to keep length reasonable. You don’t want hulking paragraphs, but you probably want something longer than a single line. Generally, you want to give your partner room to reply and a hook to reply to.
RP is not your time to write a one-shot, or infodump everything about your character onto the other person, or write an entire fic. RP is a collaborative experience where two or more parties cooperate to create a narrative via interactions. You want to engage with the other person.
There are some good rules of conduct to remember.
Collaborate: Remember this is something you are doing with someone else. It's ok and normal to make slight tweaks to your characters presentation to make them approachable or a little easier to interact with. You can also discuss a scene beforehand with your partner(s).
Cooperate: Check in with your partners, discuss ideas for the scene, provide prompts IC to move scenes along. Always remember to be mindful of others, and their time, both when replying and when someone is late for a reply. Be sure to ask if your partner likes reminders or not, and remember to be respectful.
When in scenes with more than one other person, be mindful to not post so often one person gets left behind.
Compromise: Be willing to concede ground on small things to make the experience better. Accept that maybe your character isn’t the strongest, smartest, coolest, etc. Maybe there’s a fight and you decide to write your super cool OC losing. Or maybe you let someone get the proverbial drop on your character. Don’t think of these as losses! These are just fun adventures.
Conflict: Conflict can be a fun spice to a scene! Remember to do things in moderation, but finding points of tension between characters can be a great way to push things along.
At the end of the day, remember to be polite, courteous, and abide by all server rules! Happy RPing!

(The RP thread will be posted in a bit, this not the RP thread.)
Final note: Feel free to organize amongst yourselves if someones bio interests you! I am just providing the space, its up to players to decide who they're interested in scening with.
