Curio picked up the seed on Rosy Palms' behalf; god knows how Roselia actually manage to carry stuff. "Yeah, that's all we can do really, prepare." She blew a raspberry at the fight that ensued ages ago because of one particular Litten. "Sorry about Starr, by the way."

Cynthian was halfway through taking the stray blast seed when she said that, and he stared at her wordlessly for a few seconds. It was the first time anyone brought Starr up around him for the whole week.

"I-it's nothing," Cynthian began, "I'm used to that kind of treatment back in my daycare days, so it doesn't surprise me at all it follows me even as a Roselia. Luckily Starr hasn't been as persistent as those other bullies, so tuning her out is all the easier."

Curio sighed as she handed the blast seed back to Cynthian. "Yeah, that fucking sucks. I know the sorts of people you're talking about. I guess assholes exist in every part of the universe." She glanced at a few food and drink stands. "D'you wanna grab something and talk it over? My treat, though I guess Diyem's already got us set for life outside of these shadow monster thingies."

"Yeah... I've seen more crazy things in this past couple days than in my entire life." Cynthian adjusted his bag and huffed. Normally he'd turn down the food since he didn't need much, but he figured that'd be rude.

"Grabbing a bite while we talk sounds good to me too. What do you have in mind?"

Truthfully, she didn't know if she could take another bite of anything after succumbing to Mt. Currynet. "Well, what do Roselia eat? I knew a Roselia once but I don't think I ever asked her what her diet was like outside of just basking in the sun. Or maybe that's just a stereotype."

"We don't really eat much of anything really. I mean we could, but we don't have to. Sunlight and spring water are all a Roselia needs to be healthy and thriving. I only took a bite out of my curry earlier today and didn't feel like eating more. It was just after I'd finished sunbathing at the beach too."

Cynthian cleared his throat and waved his flower. "But don't worry about it too much, I'll take whatever you get for both of us."

Ah, so that made sense. She never really saw Lorelei eating much back in GeL anyway. "Alright then." The scent of red bean paste wafted in the air. "I only want a light snack myself. So how about we share a steamed bun or something? They're delish."

And there was much steam-bunning. Curio bought a big one for her to tear in half and give to Cynthian. As soon as she sat down, Curio practically inhaled hers. "So... do you wanna talk more about the daycare, or wherever you came from? You don't hafta if you don't wanna, but I can relate."

"Hmm." Cynthian had a thoughtful look and took a bite from his smaller piece. "It was all years ago, so I'm fine with talking about my past. I only spent three months in my second daycare before I had to pull out. It was too overwhelming for me at the time."

Cynthian sighed with downcast eyes. "You may think I'm meek and cowardly now, but you should've seen how I was as a budew. Every day felt like it'd be the last for me, and I don't remember a single thing from my first daycare in the Water Continent before our family migrated here."

"Oh, dear." Curio made sure to chew all her food this time before talking. "Water Continent, eh? So what other continents are there in your world?"

"The world I'm from is very much like this one actually. There's the Water, Air, Grass and Sand continents. This continent we're on happens to be the Grass Continent, known for having several open plains and tropical forests." Talking about his world lifted Cynthian's mood somewhat. He turned to Curio with a smile. "What about you? Is your world like this one?"

"And how'd you like the Grass continent? I figure it would be easier on you than the water continent since, y'know, you're a grass-type."

"Um, mine has humans in it. I might've been eavesdropping on Dave, so imagine his world, except there aren't morphs and shit like that. Oh, and we can talk too. Some of us can anyway, though it's pretty obvious since I'm runnin' my trap right now."

"That's amazing. Your world is the most unique one I've heard about so far." Cynthian took another bite from his steamed bun.

"I haven't heard from everyone, but their worlds are either like mine with only pokemon in it, or only humans, or with both but the pokemon are all feral and subservient to humans." Cynthian smiled. "The pokemon in your world must be just as intelligent as the humans then. You're living proof of that."

"Flattery won't get you anywhere," Curio said with a wink, taking a big bite out of her snack. Again, she tried not to talk with her mouth full. Why was that so hard? "But yeah, we are intelligent, though a lot of other people don't seem to realise it yet, which sucks." She gently squeezed the doughy bun like a stress ball. "We're all in the middle of this huge clusterfuck of changes where people are trying their best to improve this world--" she reflexively outstretched her left arm where the metal one would've been--"but a few groups, well, they'll do some screwed up shit to stop all this progress."

"Mmm. It's hard for people to accept change sometimes. There will always be those who push back against it whether the changes are beneficial or otherwise. Are the ones opposing the changes humans or pokemon? I'd figure it's the former if they're the ones who've been dominant this whole time."

"Humans, of course." Curio finished the last of the bun and stretched in her seat. "But never mind that, I could go on forever about it, but that ain't gonna change shit about my world. Not that anything does." She sighed. "Anyways how's that steamed bun taste? I could eat a hundred of these."

"It's quite sweet, warm and easy to swallow." Cynthian took another bite, though he neither looked like he relished or detested it. "I could eat a hundred of them too if it wasn't for my non-existent appetite."

Cynthian took a few more bites and nibbled his down. He huffed with a smile. "I wonder if I'll miss this if I evolve. Unlike Roselia, Roserade actively hunt in the wild. They very much have a taste for meals, as they need more nutrients to produce their venoms." Cynthian paused to tap his lips. "Do you ever worry about being different when you stop being a Riolu? Assuming you weren't already a Lucario before Diyem brought you. I've heard that some like Cabot were de-evolved upon arrival."

Cynthian paused to tap his lips. "Do you ever worry about being different when you stop being a Riolu? Assuming you weren't already a Lucario before Diyem brought you. I've heard that some like Cabot were de-evolved upon arrival."

"Well, I'm already a Lucario. And y'know, I found it hard to adjust to at first. Reading people's minds with aura, aware of what they're thinkin', knowing when they want me out of their face, it felt kind of isolating at first. I kind of missed being a Riolu to be honest when I only had a few puzzle pieces to work with, not the whole goddamn picture. But oh well, aura's fun too. Once, I asked a girl what she used to trim her moustache; she got really pissy at that." She snickered. "But back to you. You're not in the wild, are ya?"

"Not at all, I'm not," Cynthian said shaking his head at the idea of staying in the wilderness. "It's just I can't help but worry how my instincts may affect me mentally."

A quite breeze blew towards them, sending a whiff of gun powdery smell up Cynthian's nose from his bag. He really hoped no one would end up hitting his hoard a little too hard on his way back. Speaking of hitting stuff.

"Lucario are pretty strong, right? Your aura reading must've been incredibly resourceful in battle. You certainly seem the type to enjoy the sport, no? If I had your aura abilities, it'd make my life so much easier. I won't have to worry about somemon attacking me out of nowhere, and I can avoid any quarrels at all."
