    Chapter 8.7 Quiet Departure

The morning rays were shifting, stretching the shadows of the Obsidian Mansion across the perfectly manicured lawn like dark fingers reaching for the gate. The air, which for forty-eight hours had smelled of Pallet Town spices and maternal warmth, was beginning to reclaim its dark obsidian heaviness.

The Obsidian Heroes stood in a line, their tactical boots unmoving on the grass. Ash, in his matte-black compression shirt, looked less like a son and more like a statue of a guardian. Beside him, Serena’s crimson dress caught the shifting light, her "Queen" gaze already beginning to settle back into its sharp, protective resonance.

The yellow cab sat idling at the end of the driveway, a splash of ordinary life in a world of 100,000 bHz anomalies.

Delia stepped forward, her hand lingering on the door handle. She looked at Ash, her eyes searching the "King’s" face for the boy who used to come home with scraped knees and a pocket full of Caterpies. "Ash," she said, her voice dropping the playful gossip of the balcony. She reached out, smoothing the collar of his black shirt. "I know you have a 'Responisibility' now. I know you have a throne. But don't you dare let the King forget the boy who rescued a girl in a straw hat. If you lose him... the Darkness wins."

Ash’s "Bully" smirk didn't just fade; it dissolved. For a heartbeat, the 100,000 bHz pressure around him evaporated, replaced by a warm, human depth. "I won't, Mom. I promise."

Grace leaned over and tucked a stray strand of hair behind Serena’s ear, her fingers brushing against the "Golden" resonance that hummed in her daughter’s skin. "Stay the anchor, Serena. The world will try to turn you into a monument. Don't let them. Keep him human, or he’ll become the very monster he’s hunting."
Serena nodded, her fingers interlaced with Ash’s. "He’s not going anywhere without me, Mom. Not ever."

Goh stood to the side, his hands in his pockets, feeling the hollow space where his own parents had already departed. Delia didn't miss it. She reached out and pulled the "Reaper" into one last, crushing hug. "Eat your greens, Goh. You’re starting to look like a shadow again."
Goh let out a small, shaky laugh. "Yes, ma'am."
The parents piled into the cab. As the tires crunched against the gravel, Delia leaned out the window, waving a single wooden spoon like a scepter of ultimate authority. "EAT YOUR VEGETABLES, ASH KETCHUM! OR I’M COMING BACK WITH A NEGATIVE TEN MILLION CALIBRATION!"

The yellow car turned the corner of the boulevard, the color vanishing into the grey Lumiose morning.

The silence that followed wasn't the "Human Silence" of the dinner table. It was the Obsidian Silence. The 850 bHz passive hum of the mansion’s perimeter sensors began to climb back up, vibrating through the soles of their boots like a heavy heartbeat.

Goh let out a long, heavy breath, looking at the empty road. "It’s... quiet again."

Clemont adjusted his glasses, the blue light of the mansion’s security HUD reflecting in the lenses. The "Maternal aura" was officially out of range. The "Science Bro" was gone; the Scientist of Vengeance was back.

Ash didn't look at the road anymore. He adjusted the fabric over his chest, the lean muscle tensing as the "King" persona clicked back into place with the precision of a loaded weapon.
"The vacation's over," Ash said, his voice dropping into that deep, vibrating register. He looked at his Reaper, his Architect, and his Queen. "Let's go inside."

The massive oak doors of the mansion shut with a heavy, final THUD.

The "Obsidian Heroes" were back in the dark.
