Thousand Roads' Sixth Anniversary Celebration
It's a surprise every year when Thousand Roads' anniversary rolls around, but here we are once again: as of April 24th, Thousand Roads is six years old! We've cracked 500 members and look sure to reach 1000 published fics this year--it's always wild to me to think of how much the community's grown. Thanks for six wonderful years, and hopefully many more to come! Let's celebrate!
As usual, we've got a number of anniversary events going on across the forums and Discord. Check out the list below to see what interests you and when it will be taking place! If you'd like to throw another event into the pool, it's not too late! Just send me a message and we can get you on the schedule, no problem. Keep an eye on this thread for further event updates throughout the anniversary period!
Forum Events
- It's time for more drabble bingo! Stop by the thread to pick up your custom bingo card of prompts, then get writing!
- The anniversary mini review blitz is now open, too! Get out there and appreciate some bingo drabbles--or whatever on your reading list strikes your fancy this year!
- @Nekodatta is hosting a special collaborative writing event over in TR Writing Buddies! Help push the community's collective word count higher and see your buddy grow faster than ever!
- @Sinderella will be hosting another mafia game for us this year! Look out for more information on that event as the Anniversary progresses.
Discord Events
- We'll be hosting a fanfic reading on Sunday, May 4th at 2:00 PM EST (6:00 PM UTC). Come out and read a favorite scene from your story, from another person's story, or simply listen in and enjoy sampling a few fics! I'll have some special hand-picked readings ready to go that are sure to make for a fun time. Sign-ups will open one week before the event!
- To close out the anniversary, I'll be hosting a round of Speed Catnip on Saturday, May 10th at 4:00 PM EST (8:00 PM UTC). Swap short fics or scenes with others for a lightning-fast round of reading and feedback. This is a great way to get eyes on your anniversary drabbles! Sign-ups will open one week before the event.
- @IFBench is organizing a round of "For the Queen" and Jackbox games over Discord! Please fill out this timing poll to help us decide when it would be best to hold them.
- I will also be organizing a day of writing sprints to help us reach the top tier of writing buddy goals, most likely the weekend of May 3rd. Keep an eye out for updates on that!
