It's that time of year again!

Review Blitz is a 4-week long event running across December and January, slightly with the goal of wrapping up all those reviews we've spent the year putting off, slightly with the goal of spreading some holiday cheer to the community, and entirely with the goal of maximum chaos and fun! In our first year, TR came together for 191 reviews across 4 weeks--an impressive number that was even more impressively overthrown by the 511 reviews that came out last year! What will the future hold?

The event itself won't start for another month at a minimum, but there's some organizational/logistics stuff I'd like to get up in the air first.

VOLUNTEERING & PRIZES
Review Blitz thrives with help from the community! If you're interested in volunteering this year, please fill out this google form! Typical volunteering contributions include reviews or art sketches, but historically we've had a wide variety of prizes depending on what people are interested in!

Additionally, if you're interested in helping from a more logistics standpoint (i.e. logging, prize-distribution, etc), we'd love to have you as well! Please also fill out this google form!

as i said in my form answer, i'd like to volunteer for 3-5 character art prizes (will know more accurately later on)! i think i also put in that i would be open to providing paid commissions but i'm having second thoughts now as the whole transaction thing makes it feel more stressful.

One thing I’m exploring this year is the possibility of having the top prizes be paid commissions rather than relying solely on volunteer output—this would put us more in line with the oneshot comps that Negrek runs and (in theory?) reduces volunteer strain. This mostly applies to community members who currently do paid commissions (typically art, WME and Aloladex being notable exceptions) and is mostly “would you be interested in me paying you via your standard process to do a commission for someone who got a 1st/2nd/3rd place prize” thing.


It’s still up for debate among the volunteer crew for if we’d prefer that or not, but I figured more data here wouldn’t hurt.
