While rare, there are occasions where Poppin' Arms required the use of its personal jail. They were usually meant for unruly Pokemon of great power that needed to be under careful watch by the strongest fighters, Poppin' Arms being the focal point for just that need. The basement held three cells, though apparently only one had ever needed to be in use at any time. Each cell had decent living arrangements, with a bed, basic facilities, and even a small mini-kitchen... though it was still just that, a cell. Apparently having weaponry didn't mean as much in a world like this, compared to human jailcells. There weren't even bars; only element-proof windows with a button nearby to allow sound through.

There was a common area separated by a hall, that itself was split by two doors, each one only unlockable by way of official Guild badges. The common area held books, basic entertainment, and what sounded like a magic radio. There was an air of suppression in the atmosphere, like the very walls and floor dampened one's energy. Perhaps that was intentional. For what was supposed to be a high-profile holding cell, it didn't look that secure. Though perhaps that was part of the deception...

Karat sat on a small stool, reading a book titled Anger and Moves: How Loss of Control Leads to Regret. He looked quite bored, flipping through the pages and perhaps only skimming the bolded points and pictures. Perhaps he'd read it before, or perhaps it was assigned reading, or perhaps even still, he was just a very fast reader. He was Mewtwo; it wasn't impossible.

His eye flicked left at the sound of the outer door opening. Karat turned his attention completely to the entryway.

"What do you want?" Karat said leisurely, looking through the middle of the book again by the time the inner door opened.

So Giovanni was here. The alternate universe version of her father on some kind of multidimensional power trip. No big deal, right?

The guild had needed people on shift to watch him at all hours. That would have been reason enough to come down here, but then there was also that goddamn spy business. Letting anyone on the God Squad watch him alone wasn't an option. Hell, even ignoring the spy, there was still the risk of him managing to con some idiot into doing something that would let him go free. Whatever the case, Starr didn't trust him to still be here unless she made sure of it herself.

At least it felt good to see him locked up.

Several times it occurred to her to say something. Once or twice she even opened her mouth before catching herself. What was the point. It wasn't him. And sure, everyone and their mom wanted to get information out of the guy, but it wasn't like they could trust a damn word out of him.

A few times she could have sworn she felt a hint of something prodding at the back of her mind, before reminding herself that even if it weren't for the shields, she was a dark-type now. No psychic bullshit to deal with. Thank god. Must've just been stress.

Brisa was texting her again. Much as she didn't want to, she replied back, saying that she'd taken another watch shift. She both wanted and didn't want Brisa to show up, and wasn't in the mood to explain what she was feeling because she didn't know.

Everyone who knew about her and Giovanni obviously expected her to have a strong opinion on what to do here, but she didn't know how they were supposed to deal with him. So for now, she was just going to make damn sure he stayed in here.

Guild work was a lot more fun than Vix thought it'd be, honestly. All that writing, logging, and organizing wasn't incredibly different from what she did at home, but doing it with someone else made it a whole lot easier. Since she didn't really need to spy on S'more anymore, Vix had a surplus of free time on her hands, and before she knew it, she was already heading down to the holding cells.

"What the hell are we doin' here..?" her Shadow grumbled, his arms crossed and his usual glare on his face.

"Because... uh..." Vix still didn't quite know herself, but as she found out, she was better at lying than she thought. "If... If anyone knew anything about the spies, it'd be Giovanni, right? What's the harm in pushing some of his buttons?"

Her Shadow didn't look like it believed her. In fact, it quite obviously didn't. "If shit goes south, I'm draggin' your sorry ass outta here."

"...Noted," Vix tittered. As she came up to Giovanni's cell, she put on a serious face and a nod.

"Evening, Giovanni..." she paused. "How are things?"

    Her Shadow flickered angrily.

As promised, Diyem was waiting for Nate and Starr at the entrance to the holding cells. Despite everything, nothing seemed to have changed in the area.

Diyem looked irritable, arms crossed and tail flicking. "Make this quick," he muttered. "Xerneas is waiting and it took a lot of convincing for me to leave for even a short while."

Diyem had recovered quickly after his battle in the Worldcore, and afterward, had left for the Tree of Life. It was an odd arrangement, but at least they were able to satiate Xerneas until they had their forces in order to properly raid the Tree and confront Eien.

Lunala floated awkwardly behind them, folding his wings when he had to, and otherwise drifting along the ground. "These halls weren't build for wingspans like mine," he commented.

Dave made his way past S'more and Giovanni's cells, holding a takeaway bag from the X-Eye Cauldron in his mouth. He'd wound up bringing several cans of beer (may as well leave him a few if he was staying long), a couple of burgers and fries in boxes, and a large portion of mozzarella sticks for good measure.

The Soda substitute was housed in the cell just beyond. God, voluntary confinement because anything can fucking break you sounded like Hell.

"Hey. You manage to get some sleep?"

Dave had a bunch of things to do. The parasite. Flesh.

But when he made his way outside, wincing at the sunlight, headache marginally better but still very much present, what he actually did was order Cauldron takeaway again. Several beers, some steak sandwiches, two portions of mozzarella sticks. Carrying it all was harder than it should be today, but one way or another he got it all down to the holding cells.

In his head, Soda was still smiling his cracked smile, extending his hand for him to join him for God knows what. Make a little wave with your hand and change it? Everything everything everything.

He took a sharp breath as he approached Green's cell and put the bags down. "Hey. I brought food."

At least dragging himself along to the picnic had proven he could just about make his way around by now. His muscles felt stiff and half-atrophied after the lengthy stay at the infirmary, but once he'd managed to excuse himself from the gathering and make his way through the portal back to Destiny Village, he headed for the Cauldron to pick up some mozzarella sticks. Soda had to have recovered enough to eat whatever he wanted, right? Let them stop him.

He entered the holding cells area with the takeout bag in his mouth, looking around. He'd gathered he was under constant supervision by the therapist bunch. Was that still a thing? (Jesus.)

Dave needed some way to unwind after the fucking therapy session. Luckily the Cauldron was open, and after ordering yet another batch of mozzarella sticks, he headed for the holding cells.

When they'd asked if he'd like anything to drink, he'd paused, and said no, and he wasn't even sure why.

He arrived with the takeout bag as usual, making his way towards Soda's cell, and all he could really think about was that he wanted a fucking beer and should have just gotten one, even if Soda didn't.
