Episode 37: Ditto's Mysterious Mansion

As Ash and his friends continued on their journey, the picture looked sunny and bright. But then, a storm began to roll in. Uh oh, guys!

Pikachu and Eevee felt raindrops on their head.

"Pika?" said Pikachu, which meant 'What's that?'

"Eevee." Eevee answered, which meant 'A bad storm in coming.' The group looked up and started feeling the rain.

"A storm?" said Ash. The rain started coming down harder, forcing the group to start running as fast as they could to find shelter.

"Bad timing for a downpour!" cried Lucy.

"Let's get out of this!" cried Ash.

"But where can we go?!" cried Misty. "We're in the middle of nowhere!"

"Look to the left!" cried Lucy. The gang spotted a mansion off to the side of the road and stopped to have a look at it.

"What's that?" said Ash.

"I don't like the looks of that place." Said Misty.

"Unless you want to stay out here in this wet mess and catch a cold, or even pneumonia, that mansion is our only option." Said Lucy.

"Lucy's right. This is no time to be picky!" cried Ash. The group ran to the mansion and burst through the doors.

"Eevee." Said Eevee, which meant 'That was close.'

"Pika." Said Pikachu, which meant 'At least we're safely inside now.'

"Hello? Sorry for barging in!" cried Ash.

"Is anybody here?" called Misty. The group went further into the mansion.

"It looks like some kind of theater." Said Brock.

"Yeah." Said Misty.

"It even has a stage." Said Lucy.

"Hey, since nobody's around, we might as well stick around until the rain stops." Said Ash.

"As long as we don't have to be outside in that terrible storm, I'm inclined to agree with Ash." Said Lucy. Pikachu and Eevee soon noticed something.

"Pikachu!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Look at this, you guys!' They looked and what they saw shocked them, for standing in front of them was what looked to be another Pikachu.

"Where'd that other Pikachu come from?!" cried Ash. The other Pikachu copied everything that Ash's Pikachu did.

"How cute!" cried Misty. She went to the other Pikachu and picked it up.

"Hi there!" cried Misty. Her happiness soon turned to surprise and shock when she saw that the other Pikachu's face was different than Ash's Pikachu. The shock on Misty's face caused her to drop the other Pikachu.

"What is this?! What's wrong with it?!" she cried.

"What's your problem?" said Ash.

"That Pikachu doesn't look right!" cried Misty. They all looked and saw what Misty meant.

"Eevee." Observed Eevee, which meant 'That other Pikachu sure looks weird.'

"Pika." Said Pikachu, which meant 'Everything about it is almost identical to me.'

"It could be a new kind of Pikachu." Said Brock.

"New kind? Then I'll have to capture it!" cried Ash. "Pikachu, Thunder Shock!" Pikachu's attack landed.

"Poke Ball, go!" cried Ash. Another Poke Ball came out of nowhere and knocked Ash's Poke Ball to the ground.

"Hey!" cried Ash.

"There's the culprit." Said Lucy. The group turned around and saw someone dressed like Ash.

"Hey Ash, that guy's dressed like you!" exclaimed Misty.

"Except it's a girl." Said Brock.

"A girl?" said Lucy.

"How can you tell?" said Misty.

"Men's intuition." Said Brock.

"Who are you?" said Ash.

"Tell me who you are." Said the stranger in Ash's voice.

"I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town." Said Ash.

"I'm Lucy Peters, also from Pallet Town." Said Lucy.

"Duplica, from the House of Imite." Said the stranger.

"Duplica? As in duplicate?" said Lucy.

"You got it." Said Duplica.

"Imite? Like in imitate?" said Ash. "Is that why you look just like me?"

"That's right." Said Duplica.

"You're right, Brock. She's definitely a girl." Said Misty.

"But she may be a little young for me." Said Brock.

"Says the guy who tries picking up girls older than him all the time." Said Lucy.

"You're sad." Said Misty.

"Aw, it still hasn't gotten over that old habit." Said Duplica. The Pikachu glowed and transformed into a pink blob, much to everyone's surprise and shock, except for Lucy.

"I thought so." She said. "This is a Ditto." She got out her Pokedex for more information.

"Ditto, a Transform Pokemon. It is able to rearrange the cells of its body and assume any form. Its only attack is Transform." Misty started petting the Ditto.

"It's squishy." She laughed.

"And also very cute." Added Lucy.

"And Ditto can make itself look just like anything!" cried Ash.

"Can you demonstrate for us?" said Lucy.

"Sure." Said Duplica. "Let's try that cute Eevee of yours there. Ditto, Transform." Ditto glowed and turned into a near copy of Lucy's Eevee.

"No way!" cried Lucy. "Two Eevees?!"

"That's amazing." Said Brock.

"There's one key difference, though." Said Lucy.

"I see it." Said Brock. "Its' face stayed the same. When it transforms, shouldn't it be able to change completely?"

"Yeah. It still can't change its face." Said Duplica.

"But it's the only Pokemon that can transform like that, right?" said Ash. "Or are there others?"

"Nope. Ditto's one of a kind." Said Duplica.

"A transforming Pokemon." Said Brock. "The only attack it has is to copy other Pokemon. That's all it does."

"Isn't that enough?" said Misty.

"Yeah, but then you can't have the fun of teaching it different attacks." Said Ash. "That's kind of boring."

"You just don't understand Ditto's real power." Said Duplica.

"Real power?" said Ash.

"Let's have a little match." Said Duplica. "Then you'll understand, Ashy boy."

"Ashy boy?" said Ash. The light came on over the stage as both Ash and Duplica took their places.

"Ditto's power. Let's just see." Said Brock. Misty nodded as she munched on some popcorn.

"I choose to use my Ditto, of course." Said Duplica.

"You choose what you want." Said Ash. "Bulbasaur, I choose you!" Bulbasaur materialized.

"Go, little Ditto! Transform!" cried Duplica. Ditto changed into Bulbasaur.

"You'll have to be better than that!" cried Ash. Duplica wagged her finger.

"You haven't seen the best part yet!" she cried.

"I'll show her!" cried Ash. "Bulbasaur, Razor Leaf!"

"Ditto, Vine Whip!" cried Duplica. Both attacks collided, resulting in a stalemate.

"It can imitate attacks too?!" cried Lucy.

"Ditto, restrain Bulbasaur!" cried Duplica. Ditto's Vine Whip wrapped itself around Bulbasaur to prevent it from moving, much to Ash's shock.

"Have you had enough yet, Ashy Boy?" said Duplica.

"All right, I understand, I give up." Said Ash. Bulbasaur was released from its restraints and Ditto returned to its normal form, leaving brock, Misty and Lucy in a state of surprise.

"But how, how could the real thing lose?" said Ash.

"Because Transform allows the user to copy the opposing Pokemon's moves." Said Lucy. "Hey Duplica, can I have a try at battling Ditto?"

"Sure." Said Duplica. "Just take your spot and choose your Pokemon." Lucy reached for a Poke Ball.

"I choose you, Clefairy!" she cried. Clefairy materialized.

"Ditto, Transform!" cried Duplica. Ditto changed into a near perfect copy of Clefairy.

"Clefairy, go for a Double Slap attack!" cried Lucy. Clefairy charged in for the attack.

"Ditto, Pound!" cried Duplica. Right as Clefairy's attack was about to land, Ditto pounded it hard to send it back.

"Clefairy, no!" cried Lucy.

"Use Sing!" cried Duplica. Ditto let out a soothing melody to put Clefairy to sleep, forcing Lucy to recall it.

"Not even Lucy could beat the Ditto." Said Ash. The group soon entered Duplica's costume room.

"Wow! What are all these clothes for?" said Misty.

"I'll show you." Said Duplica. She ran into a rack of clothes dressed as Ash, and came out the other side dressed as Nurse Joy.

"Don't worry, I'll take good care of it." Said Duplica. She ran into the rack again and came out dressed as Officer Jenny.

"My name is Jenny. You're under arrest for Pokemon poaching!" she cried. Pikachu, Eevee and Ditto enjoyed seeing Duplica's costume and talent of mimicry.

"Great imitation!" cried Misty.

"She's got me fooled." Said Lucy.

"Very good, but she doesn't capture the more adult charm of the real Joy and Jenny." Said Brock. Misty looked at Brock embarrassingly and sweat dropped.

"With all these costumes, I can imitate just about anybody." Said Duplica. "Watch!" She ran into the rack again and came out dressed as Misty. She winked and laughed.

"She's me!" cried Misty. Duplica then ran into another rack and came out dressed as Lucy.

"Now she's dressed in my clothes!" cried Lucy. As the marveled at Duplica's talents, Brock saw Ash staring out the window in frustration.

"Don't be so down, Ash." Said brock. "That Ditto's powers are unbeatable.

"Pika!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'He's right, you know.'

"Better than the real Pokemon." Said Misty.

"I just can't believe I lost the match to a great big fake." Said Ash.

"Oh, Ash. Don't think of it as a fake." Said Misty. "Ditto was battling a real Bulbasaur."

"I'm even more impressed with how much knowledge Duplica has." Said brock.

"I think she has more knowledge than me and Ash combined." Said Lucy. "Even though I also lost to that Ditto, I still think it's super strong."

"Like Brock said, Duplica's knowledge is amazing." Said Misty.

"Knowledge?" said Ash.

"Think about it for a second, Ash." Said Brock. "Why do you think Duplica had Ditto use Vine Whip instead of Razor Leaf against your Bulbasaur?"

"The same reason why she had Ditto use Pound rather than Double Slap against my Clefairy." Said Lucy.

"Right." Said Brock. "Duplica must know all of the potential attacks both Bulbasaur and Clefairy have. She could order Ditto to use the strongest attacks possible according to the Pokemon form it takes."

"I guess that means Duplica must know every attack of every Pokemon there is." Said Lucy.

"You must've studied a lot, Duplica, to be able to battle in any situation like that." Said Brock.

"Oh stop it, Brock, you're making me blush." Said Duplica.

"I get it. It's more than just imitation." Said Ash.

"Looks like you and Lucy both have another rival." Said Misty. "Duplica would make a great Pokemon master."

"Actually, I just want to become the world's greatest Ditto master." Said Duplica.

"A Ditto master?" cried the group collectively.

"You got it." Said Duplica. "And I wanna be a big star!"

Flashback

Ditto and Duplica were on stage before a large audience.

"Thank you! Thank you! I'm the amazing Duplica and this is my assistant, Ditto!" cried Duplica. The audience applauded.

"And now, for my first imitation, my impression of…. a Gloom." Said Duplica. She performed the imitation and everyone laughed.

"Now that we have your attention, I'd like to do some of my favorites." Said Duplica. As she proceeded to imitate Metapod, Psyduck, Horsea, Bulbasaur, and a Goldeen, she started narrating outside the flashback.

"You see, I started this Imite House because I like to imitate Pokemon." Said Duplica. "This place is so flat and boring, but people pass by here all the time. I thought maybe if people stop here for a rest, I can entertain them." She went back into flashback mode.

"Now it's time for my assistant, Ditto." She said. "Will the Machoke in the front row please come up to the stage?" The Machoke went on stage.

"Okay, Ditto, Transform!" cried Duplica. Ditto nodded and transformed into a Machoke, but the face wasn't exactly the same, making the audience lose interest.

"Hey!" cried an audience member.

"That face doesn't look right!" cried another. Duplica narrated again.

"The only trouble is, Ditto hasn't been able to fix this weird problem that keeps its face from transforming the right way." She explained. Back in flashback mode, the Machoke left the stage.

"Thank you very much, Machoke, for being a good sport." Said Duplica. "Now, how about this Voltorb? Would you please come up to the stage?" The Voltorb came up to the stage.

"Okay, Ditto, Transform!" cried Duplica. Ditto transformed again, but the face still wasn't right.

"It's still got that dumb face!" yelled an audience member.

"That's so…..you can tell them apart." Said Duplica with a laugh.

"You're both a fake!" cried another audience member. Ditto used Explosion, reverting it back to its normal form and knocking most of the audience on their backs.

End Flashback

"And that's what happens." Said Duplica. She jumped off the stage. "When people watch Ditto, they don't want to see an imperfect transformation. This one is trying its best to master Transform perfectly, but its face still stays the same."

"I guess being a Ditto trainer's tough." Said Ash.

"All young Ditto that try to master Transform have a similar problem, so this one's not alone." Said Lucy. The lights suddenly went out and the spotlight panned around the curtains, to the group's shock and surprise. Team Rocket emerged from under the stage.

"That was a touching story." Said Meowth.

"What? Who are you?!" cried Duplica.

"Prepare for trouble!"

"Make it double!"

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"

"Meowth, that's right! Let's give them a hand!"

"Okay, show's over, time to go back home." Said Ash.

"Quiet, twerp." Said Jessie. "You'll be happy to know that we're not interested in Pikachu and Eevee today."

"We're here for….." said James.

"The Ditto!" cried Meowth. He jumped down from the ladder and grabbed Ditto.

"Wait!" cried Duplica.

"Time for action, Weezing!" cried James. Weezing materialized and spread a Smokescreen around Ash's group to allow Team Rocket to make their getaway. When the smoke cleared, Ditto was nowhere to be seen.

"Oh no! My Ditto's gone!" cried Duplica.

"Those dirty rats!" cried Lucy.

"Team Rocket. What are they up to this time?" said Ash.

Elsewhere, Meowth, Jessie and James had escaped to their hideout, with Jessie and James chuckling in triumph.

"Cute little Ditto, our little Ditto." Said Jessie. "Why didn't we think of this before? Now we're unstoppable!"

"Right! Now we can take our name off the loser list and put them in the winning column!" cried James.

"And the boss will make me top cat again." Said Meowth.

"All right, Ditto, we have a little favor to ask you." Said Jessie. She showed Ditto a book with a picture of a Dratini in it and pointed to the picture.

"Transform into this." She said. "Won't you please? Please? Pretty please?"

"Become Dratini, the legendary Pokemon we've never been able to capture." Said James. "It would make a handsome gift for the boss!" They played out a scenario involving handing over Dratini to their boss.

"Sir, we've finally captured Dratini, the legendary Pokemon." Said James.

"Yes, well done." said Jessie. "I will reward you handsomely for your hard work. From now on, you will take my place as the head of Team Rocket." James chuckled.

"Your wish is my command." He said. The scenario then ended.

"Let's do it!" cried James. "Let's make it change right this second, Jessie!"

"What's the hurry?" said Jessie. "Since Ditto is ours for the moment, let's have some fun with it before we hand it over to the boss."

"Some fun?" said James. Jessie showed Ditto a picture of someone.

"Ditto, what would the person in this picture look like if he were an adult?" she said. "Transform and show me."

"Who's picture is that?" said James. "Let me see!"

"No way!" cried Jessie. "This is personal, James. Stop it!"

"Let's see." Said Meowth. He got a glimpse of the picture. "Ha! It's a little boy!"

"Jessie has a boyfriend?" said James.

"He was my first true love." Said Jessie.

"First love?" said James.

"Show me." Said Jessie. Ditto nodded and transformed, but the face issue kicked in, making Jessie look surprised while James and Meowth laughed.

"Your first love sure has an interesting face!" cried James.

"Especially if you're interested in Ditto!" cried Meowth. Jessie attacked James and Meowth for their laughter.

"That wasn't funny!" she yelled. "Is that your idea of a transformation?!" Ditto simply licked Jessie's face, causing James and Meowth to burst into laughter again, only to be smacked around by Jessie again.

"Now, do as I say!" yelled Jessie. She showed the picture of Dratini again. "Transform into this!" Ditto then transformed into a book, making Team Rocket fall over in disbelief.

"I'm starting to see a flaw in this plan." Said James.

"How dare you insult us like this!" cried Jessie. "I'm warning you! You better transform perfectly this time or I'll transform you into jelly!"

At the House of Imite, the group was trying to cheer Duplica up.

"Don't worry, Duplica." Said Misty. "Cheer up. We'll all help you find Ditto."

"We've already sent Pidgeotto, Zubat and Butterfree out on surveillance duty." Said brock.

"Those three should be able to find Ditto without any problem." Said Lucy.

"There you go! See?" said Misty.

"Thanks, you guys." Said Duplica.

"Hey Ash, what's on your mind?" said Brock.

"Yeah, you've been a little quiet." Said Lucy.

"Well, it's just Ditto's Transform." Said Ash. "You can't forget how important the trainer's ability is, too."

"Huh?" said Brock.

"It's not the Pokemon but the trainer who decides what attacks to use in a battle, right?" said Ash.

"Right." Said Lucy.

"That means if you raise a Ditto, its progress and power are connected directly to your own." Said Ash.

"Yeah, I think you're right about that, Ash." Said Lucy.

"It sounds like you've been studying, Ash." Said Misty. Butterfree, Pidgeotto and Zubat soon flew in.

"Free!" Butterfree cried happily, which meant 'We found where Ditto is!'

"You guys found him!" cried Lucy. "Great work, all of you!"

"Let's go and save Ditto!" cried Ash. Everyone agreed.

"Wait! I have an idea." Said Duplica.

"I think I already know what the idea is, but let's hear it anyway." Said Lucy.

Meanwhile, in Team Rocket's hideout, Ditto had transformed into a Meowth, but the face issue was still obvious.

"What's wrong with you?!" cried Jessie. "Why can't you get it right?!"

"I don't have a goofy face like that." Meowth pointed out.

"Get it right this time, Ditto, or you'll regret it!" cried James.

"That's right!" cried Meowth, and he unleashed his sharp claws to show that he meant business. Ditto panicked and quickly reshaped his face to look just like Meowth's, much to the delight of Team Rocket.

"Success!" cried James.

"You really can do it if you try." Said Jessie. "Great work, Ditto."

"Now for a Dratini." said Meowth.

"Sorry, Meowth!" cried Ash. Team Rocket was quite surprised to hear Ash's voice.

"Hey!" cried Jessie. Multiple spotlights were shining around Ash and his friends, all of whom were dressed exactly like Team Rocket.

"Prepare for trouble!" cried Ash.

"And make it triple double!" cried Brock. James growled angrily.

"Quit imitating us!" he cried.

"To protect the world from devastation!" cried Misty.

"To ignite all peoples within our nation!" cried Duplica. Jessie growled angrily now too.

"This is insulting!" she cried, glaring angrily at Ash's group.

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!" cried Ash.

"To extend our reach to the stars above!" cried Lucy.

"Ash!"

"Misty!"

"Brock!"

"Lucy!"

"Duplica! That's right!"

"Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!" cried Brock.

"Surrender now, or prepare to fight all of us!" cried Duplica.

"Pika!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'That's right!'

"Eevee!" cried Eevee, which meant 'You better believe it!'

"That was great to do the whole thing!" cried Lucy.

"Now I know why they like saying all that dumb stuff so much. It's fun!" cried Ash.

"Hey, I know! Maybe we should all become actors." Said Duplica. The group laughed, but Team Rocket didn't find the whole thing funny at all.

"Team Rocket is NOT something to be made fun of, but if you're going to imitate us, at least do it right!" cried Jessie.

"To UNITE all peoples within our nation, not ignite!" cried James.

"We'll be taking Ditto back now!" cried Duplica.

"No way!" said Meowth.

"No way!" cried another Meowth. Jessie and James chuckled, leaving Ash and company confused.

"Hey, I can't tell which one is which." Said Brock.

"But I thought Ditto couldn't imitate faces." Said Ash.

"That's true, but Ditto was finally perfected under the expert care and training of Team Rocket." Said Jessie.

"If by expert care and training, you mean demands and threats." Said Lucy. Jessie and James laughed at their triumph.

"Oh, thank you!" cried Duplica. Jessie and James stopped laughing.

"I've tried everything I could think of to get Ditto to imitate faces." Said Duplica. She started shedding tears. "Now Ditto can finally become the Pokemon that I always knew it could be!"

"Duplica." Said Ash.

"I guess Team Rocket actually did Duplica a favor." Said Lucy.

"That's beautiful." Said Misty.

"Yeah." Said Brock. Jessie and James started shedding tears themselves.

"That's so beautiful. I can't stand it." Said Jessie.

"Neither can I." said James.

"Hey, you guys. Why don't we solve this without a big battle?" said Ash.

"All right. We'll do it your way this time." Said Jessie.

"We'll just give you Ditto." Said James. They handed the "Ditto" over and got into their hot air balloon.

"Hey, what are you doing?" cried Meowth.

"We'll be on our way now!" cried James. The hideout came apart and Team Rocket flew upwards in their balloon.

"Goodbye, everyone!" cried Jessie.

"Good luck with Ditto!" cried James.

"Hold it right there!" cried Duplica. She held up the Meowth that Team Rocket had given her and got ready to throw.

"Duplica! What are you doing?!" cried Lucy.

"This isn't Ditto!" cried Duplica.

"Huh?" said Ash.

"Hey! Let me go, will ya?!" cried Meowth.

"That definitely proves it's not Ditto." Said Lucy. Duplica threw Meowth at the balloon and he landed on its face.

"Impossible! How could you tell?!" cried Jessie.

"It was a perfect transformation!" cried James. Ditto then bit Jessie's arm, making her let go of it, thus allowing Ditto to jump down safely into Duplica's arms.

"I wouldn't be much of a trainer if I couldn't see through that transformation." Said Duplica. "Right, Ditto?" Ditto nodded and winked.

"Dimwits! How'd you manage to mess this one up?!" cried Meowth.

"You're in no position to complain!" cried James.

"It's time for Plan B!" cried Jessie. She pressed a button and a cannon appeared under the balloon. The cannon was pointed at Ash's group, much to their shock.

"Stop! You can't do this!" cried Ash.

"You'll kill all of us!" cried Lucy.

"Quiet, all of you!" cried Jessie. "We're going to win after all!"

"I seriously doubt that." Said Lucy.

"What was that, twerpette?!" cried jessie.

"Oh, nothing, you didn't hear a thing." Said Lucy, who gave an innocent smile.

"Ditto, Transform now!" cried Duplica. Ditto transformed into the cannon.

"That's great!" cried Ash.

"I didn't think Ditto could transform into things like that." Said Lucy.

"Arbok, go!" cried Jessie.

"You too, Weezing!" cried James. Arbok and Weezing materialized.

"Butterfree, go!" cried Lucy. Butterfree materialized.

"Gust attack, now!" Lucy ordered. Butterfree flapped its wings to make a tornado and blow Arbok and Weezing back.

"Now's your chance, Ash!" cried Lucy.

"Right." Said Ash. "Pikachu!"

"Pikachu!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'On it, Ash!' Pikachu loaded into Ditto.

"Eevee, you join Pikachu in the cannon and aim!" cried Lucy. Eevee nodded and hopped into the cannon.

"Ditto, fire!" cried Duplica. Ditto fired Pikachu and Eevee right at Team Rocket.

"Fire!" cried Jessie. She pressed the button again and fired a net at Pikachu and Eevee.

"Now!" cried Ash and Lucy. Pikachu unleashed a Thunder Shock, sending the volts traveling through the net and throughout the balloon, making Team Rocket get shocked. Eevee sprang onto the balloon, and Meowth clinched onto it tighter by using his claws, resulting in the balloon springing a leak and sending Team Rocket on their way.

"Jessie, we lose everything!" cried James.

"Even our hot air!" cried Jessie.

"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Team Rocket cried. Ditto then returned to its normal form and jumped into Duplica's arms for a hug. Pikachu and Eevee jumped back down to the ground and ran back to Ash and Lucy respectively.

"That was great! You've finally learned how to completely transform!" cried Duplica. "Ditto, would you please transform into a Pikachu?" Ditto transformed into a perfect copy of Pikachu.

"That's amazing!" cried Misty. "Ditto transforms perfectly now!"

"It finally mastered its only attack." Said Lucy.

"I can hardly believe it. Team Rocket was actually good for something." Said Ash.

"Yeah, and the way Ditto transforms into objects is great!" cried Brock.

"I didn't expect Ditto to turn into a cannon like that." Said Lucy. "That was amazing."

"You're just as real as the real thing." Said Misty.

"Hey, Ditto. Great job." Said Ash. Pikachu and Ditto both thanked Ash, but they both sounded so similar that Ash was confused.

"But now I can't tell which Pikachu is mine." He said.

"Then I guess you need to keep training, Ashy boy." Said Duplica. She piked up the Pikachu on the right. "Right, Ditto?" Ditto reverted back to its normal form as it and Duplica hugged. Ash and his friends smiled.

"There's a happy ending if I've ever seen one." Said Lucy.

Later, Duplica was fixing up the place.

"There. The House Of Imite is now officially open again!" she cried.

"Congratulations!" cried Ash.

"You did it, Duplica!" cried Misty.

"You and Ditto are gonna become stars for sure!" cried Lucy.

"Thanks for everything!" cried Duplica. "Come back and see us anytime, okay?!"

"I'll try and convince my dad to come and see one of your shows." Said Lucy.

"Please do." Said Duplica.

"Good luck, and take care of yourself, Ditto master!" cried Ash. The group departed.

"Imagine the strength of all the Pokemon in one!" cried Ash. "Maybe I'll catch a Ditto for myself someday."

"After seeing that incredible power it had, I might have to find one for myself too." Said Lucy. Our heroes were able to help bring the sunshine into another trainer's life. Who knows what adventures and rewards await them, beyond the rainbow.

Elsewhere, Team Rocket's balloon had crashed in the woods and jessie and James were trying to get Meowth into a costume.

"Hey! What are you guys doing?" cried Meowth.

"Hold still, Meowth!" cried James.

"Stop it! Let me go! Cut it out, will ya?!" cried Meowth. The costume Jessie and James were trying to get Meowth into was that of a Dratini.

"Ow! Quit it!" cried Meowth.

"Will you stop it, Meowth?!" cried James.

"The only way that we can get out of this mess is to dress you up like a Dratini and present you to the boss." Said Jessie.

"Pea brains! This won't work!" cried Meowth. He unleashed his claws and attacked Jessie and James. "Take that! And that!" That caused Jessie and James to attack Meowth back.

"How dare you touch my face!" cried Jessie.

"For that, we'll turn you into a Grimer!" cried James.

Episode 38: Pikachu's Goodbye

Our heroes Ash and Lucy, along with their friends Misty and Brock, continue on their journey to become Pokemon masters. They were a bit tired from their adventures, though, and so they decided to take a break in a quiet forest.

Pikachu and Eevee were climbing a tree to get some fruit while the group relaxed.

"What a beautiful day and a beautiful place." Said Lucy.

"The air's so fresh and the water's beautiful. What a great place this is for a rest!" said Misty.

"I couldn't agree more." Said Lucy. "A perfect day to just sit back and watch the clouds roll by."

"It sure is nice to kick back and relax a little." Said Brock. Ash came swinging in on a vine yelling like Tomo from the Safari Zone.

"Kanga Kangaskhan!" he cried. "Ha, this is fun!"

"Ash! Look out for that…" Lucy started, but before she could finish, Ash smacked into a tree, causing her to shake her head.

"Tree." She finished.

"That's going to leave a mark for sure." Said Misty. Brock shook his own head.

"Jungle boy." He said.

"He'll never learn." Said Lucy. Pikachu and Eevee climbed down the tree so that Pikachu could check on Ash.

"Eevee?" asked Eevee, which meant 'Is he okay?'

"His body is, but his brain isn't." said Lucy. Pikachu and Eevee suddenly spotted another Pikachu that looked like the one Ash had, but it was younger. When Pikachu tried to say hello to the other one, it ran away, prompting Ash's Pikachu to follow it, with Eevee not too far behind. This got the attention of Ash and his friends, particularly Lucy.

"Pikachu? Huh?" said Ash.

"Eevee, where are you going?" said Lucy. Pikachu and Eevee jumped into the bush where they had seen the younger Pikachu.

"Pikachu?" Ash repeated.

"I wonder what's gotten into those guys." Said Lucy. The group started following the two Pikachu.

"Hey! Where are you and Eevee going, Pikachu?" said Ash.

"What's the big idea?" said Lucy.

"Where are Pikachu and Eevee running to?" said Misty.

"I don't know, Misty." Said Ash. "Maybe they saw something out there in the woods." Once Pikachu and Eevee stopped, the gang spotted an entire swarm of Pikachu.

"Look at this, Eevee." Said Lucy. "An entire swarm of Pikachu."

"It's amazing!" cried Misty. "Look at all the Pikachu!" The group, Pikachu and Eevee watched as the Pikachu swarm played and lived in their habitat.

"Those must be wild Pikachu." Said Brock.

"Pikachu are tricky to find in the wild." Said Lucy. "You're lucky you got one as your starter, Ash."

"I've never seen so many Pikachu in one place!" cried Misty. Pikachu and Eevee were attempting to greet Pikachu's own kind and say hello to them, only for the whole swarm to run away.

"I kind of want to catch one of those Pikachu." Said Lucy. "That way Ash's Pikachu can possibly have a little brother or sister."

"It would definitely be nice for my Pikachu to have a sibling." Said Ash.

"Eevee?" asked Eevee, which meant 'What about me?'

"He or she would be your sibling too, Eevee." Said Lucy.

"Pika, Pika!" cried Pikachu before jumping out of the bushes, which meant 'Hi, everyone!'

"Pi. Pika!" cried a wild pikachu, which meant 'Hello yourself.' Pikachu looked over at the group and spotted the littlest Pikachu.

"Pika." It said, looking at Pikachu, which meant 'Join us.'

"Pika! Pika!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'I will! Thanks!'

"Eevee?" asked Eevee, which meant 'Can I play with you too?'

"Pika!" cried the younger Pikachu, which meant 'Sure! The more the merrier!' The Pikachu and Eevee shook hands with them and went to join their new friends. The whole swarm welcomed Pikachu and Eevee with open arms.

"They like them." Said Lucy. They really like them!"

"Aw, that's so cute." Said Misty.

"It looks like they finally accepted Pikachu and Eevee as part of their group." Said Brock.

"All right!" cried Ash. He started walking out of the bushes the group had been watching from.

"Where Eevee goes, I go." Said Lucy. She followed behind Ash.

"Ash, Lucy, get back here right now!" cried Brock. "We don't want to disturb them."

"I want to be part of your group too!" cried Ash.

"Same here!" cried Lucy. As Pikachu and Eevee invited them over, however, the other Pikachu fled.

"Hey. Don't run away." Said Ash.

"We're not going to hurt you." Said Lucy.

"Quit it, you two." Said Misty.

"But why?" said Ash.

"Don't you understand?" said brock. "Those Pikachu are scared of you two." Ash and Lucy were surprised, and soon, the group was sitting by the river.

"I'm sorry, Pikachu, and I'm sorry too, Eevee." Said Ash.

"Pi." Said Pikachu, which meant 'Apology accepted, Ash.'

"Eevee." Said Eevee, which meant 'It's okay, Ash.'

"I wanted to be able to hold that little Pikachu." Said Lucy. "Now I can't, no thanks to you!"

"What do you mean thanks to me?!" snapped Ash. "You're the one that followed me towards that swarm!"

"Guys, knock it off!" cried Misty. "This is supposed to be a happy moment for Pikachu, and I don't think he wants to see the two of you fighting each other."

"She's right, Ash." Said Lucy.

"Why would those Pikachu be afraid of us, though?" said Ash.

"We wouldn't do anything to hurt them." Said Lucy. "Unlike some other people and one cat that we know all to well."

"I know you guys probably wouldn't hurt them." Said Misty. "But I don't think they've had much contact with humans before, if at all."

"That's probably because all of them are wild, and this forest is way out of the way of any cities or towns." Said Lucy.

"Lucy's right. Not too many people come this far into the forest." Said Brock.

"This place must be perfect for all those Pikachu." Said Lucy.

"You mean like a Pikachu paradise?" said Ash.

"Exactly." Said Lucy.

"I'd hate to do anything that would disturb all those Pikachu here." Said Brock.

"Yeah, me either." Said Misty.

"Ditto for me." Said Lucy.

"Yeah." Said Ash. As the group continued to talk, the young Pikachu from earlier was watching from a tree branch when it suddenly slipped and fell into the river. That got the group's attention level up.

"What's that?!" cried Misty.

"It's one of those Pikachu!" cried Ash.

"Guys, we have to try and save it." Said Brock.

"And quickly." Said Lucy. "It's heading for a very big waterfall!" Pikachu jumped into the river, much to the shock of the group.

"Pikachu!" cried Ash.

"They're both going to go over!" cried Lucy. The wild Pikachu suddenly appeared and saved both of them by forming a chain down from a nearby tree to pull them out.

"They got them!" Lucy cried happily. The Pikachu swarm watched over Pikachu as the group looked on, unable to do anything. This was evidenced by the fact that Ash and Lucy were making another attempt to approach the swarm, only for Brock to stop them. Pikachu finally woke up, and the young Pikachu he had rescued gave him an apple as a thank you gift.

"Eevee!" cried Eevee, which meant 'That's so sweet!' The rest of the swarm tossed Pikachu up and down with their tails in celebration of Pikachu's heroic deed as the group looked on. Up in a nearby tree, however, Team Rocket spotted the swarm of Pikachu.

"Just look at all of them." Chuckled Jessie.

"Pikachu to the left, Pikachu to the right." Said James.

"Piles of Pikachu everywhere you look!" cried Meowth.

"If we turn over this many Pikachu to the boss…." Said Jessie.

"We'll be promoted for sure." Said James.

"I'm so proud to be part of this team." Said Meowth.

"Everything in this forest is public property." Said James.

"And we're members of the public." Said Jessie.

"Which means these Pikachu are really our property." Said Meowth.

"Right!" cried Jessie and James. The branch Team Rocket had been standing on suddenly broke and they plummeted to the ground. The branch then fell on their heads.

Later that night, Ash's group was watching the Pikachu during a nightly ceremony in which they sang under the full moon.

"Those Pikachu sure are having fun." Said Misty.

"Looks like it." Said Ash.

"I'll say." Said Lucy.

"Ash, Misty, Lucy, dinner will be ready in just a few minutes." Said Brock. He then noticed Pikachu and Eevee in the midst of the ceremony.

"It sure looks like Pikachu and Eevee are fitting in well." He said.

"Yeah." Said Ash.

"Indeed." Said Lucy.

"I think it's the best thing in the world for Pikachu to be here with its own kind." Said Brock. Ash and Lucy watched Eevee and Pikachu enjoying the festivities. All the while, they pondered if what Brock had said was truly best for Pikachu. The group soon finished up their dinner.

"That was a great dinner, Brock." Said Misty.

"You're telling me." Said Lucy. "That stew really hit the spot."

"What can I say?" said Brock. "I'm a great cook!"

"To be fair, the vegetables around here are very tasty, and I love vegetables." Said Lucy. "What do you think about the vegetables, Ash?"

"Ash?" said Misty. Ash was in deep thought, however.

"Ash, are you feeling okay?" said Lucy.

"Is something bothering you?" said Misty. "If so, you can always tell us."

"Never felt better!" cried Ash. "Everything's fine!" He finally started to eat, but stopped shortly after, which got Misty, Brock and Lucy very concerned.

Later, while Brock and Misty were sleeping, Ash and Lucy stayed awake and thought about Pikachu while thinking about what Brock had said earlier.

"Here with its own kind." They both said. The wind soon picked up and blew out the campfire, which meant that it was finally time for Ash and Lucy to fall asleep. Eevee ran back to Lucy and curled up beside her as she fell asleep herself.

"Eevee." She whispered to herself, which meant 'That ceremony was so much fun.' Soon, however, everyone heard a cry from the swarm, causing everyone to wake up.

"What's that sound?!" cried Brock.

"My guess is trouble." Said Lucy. The gang quickly ran over to the Pikachu swarm, all of whom were trapped in a net.

"They're all trapped!" cried Brock.

"Who could've done this to them?!" cried Misty.

"Three guesses, and the first two don't count." Said Lucy.

"Pikachu!" cried Ash.

"Pika pi!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Ash, over here!' Spotlights began to shine, blinding the group.

"Who's there?!" cried Ash.

"Show yourselves!" cried Lucy.

"Prepare for trouble!" cried Jessie.

"Make it double!" cried James.

"Those voices!" cried Misty.

"I knew it was those three slimeballs!" cried Lucy.

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"

"Meowth!"

"Team Rocket!" cried the gang.

"That's right!" cried Team Rocket.

"We'd like to thank all of our fans for their loyalty and support." Said James. "This victory is for them!"

"And now, you're about to witness Team Rocket's finest performance!" cried Jessie.

"Cut the speeches and let's swipe the Pikachu!" cried Meowth.

"What fans are they even talking about?" said Lucy. "The only reason people watch us every week is to see the good guys win."

"You're not swiping anything!" cried Misty. "Pikachu, break the net with your electric shock!" Pikachu used a Thunder Shock on the net, but it didn't work. Meowth laughed at Pikachu's failure.

"They're no match for our Pikachu insulated seizure net!" cried James. "You might as well give up!"

"And see this show get cancelled on account of that?!" cried Lucy. "No way! What's that net made of?"

"It's made from environmentally safe material that absorbs electricity." Answered Jessie.

"That's VERY thoughtful of you." Said Brock.

"Oh yeah, REALLY great of you to think about the environment first." Said Lucy sarcastically.

"Let those Pikachu go, now!" cried Ash.

"No way!" cried Team Rocket. Ash growled.

"We have to save the Pikachu!" he cried.

"Yeah!" cried Lucy, Misty and Brock. They rushed forward, but James was prepared.

"Why don't you check out our website?" he said, and fired a bazooka that launched a net at the group, trapping them.

"You diabolical crooks!" cried Lucy.

"Let us out of this stupid thing!" cried Brock.

"You're not going to get away with this!" cried Misty. Jessie laughed.

"Time to make our exit." She said.

"Roger!" cried James and Meowth.

"Wait!" cried Ash. Team Rocket scrambled into their balloon with the swarm of Pikachu tied underneath.

"Pikachu!" cried Ash.

"Pika pi!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Ash, no!'

"It's a Pika-palooza!" cried Meowth.

"We're at the Pika of our powers." Said Jessie.

"Chu can say that again, Jess." Said James.

"You three better land the balloon and let those Pikachu go, or else!" cried Lucy. "And believe me, you don't want to know what "or else" means!" Team Rocket simply laughed at her.

"No good. These crooks just won't quit!" she cried.

"It's good to be on top for once." Said Jessie. She let out a sigh.

"We've got a Pika problem down below!" cried Meowth.

"What?!" cried Jessie and James. They spotted the Pikachu chewing on the net.

"Hey! Stop that!" cried Jessie.

"Quit it!" cried James. "Pikachus, cut it out. Stop!"

"What are you doing? Hold it!" cried Meowth.

"Quit it! Stop!" Jessie shouted as Pikachu and Little Pikachu made a hole in the net.

"Pika!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'We're out of that!' He climbed out of and over the net towards the top.

"Catch him, James!" ordered Jessie. James tried to catch Pikachu, but he had jumped over to Jessie's head.

"There, grab him." Said Meowth. James tried again to catch Pikachu but failed. Ash and the others finally got out of the net they had been trapped in.

"All right, we're free!" he cried. "Watch out Team Rocket!"

"You're going to pay for this!" cried Lucy. "Guys, let's use this net to catch the Pikachu that jump into it."

"Great idea, Lucy." Said Misty.

"Pikachu, jump into this!" Lucy called out to Little Pikachu, who looked to see them with the net.

"Hurry up!" she cried. Little Pikachu jumped out first and landed safely in the net.

"All right, that's the way." Said Ash as Little Pikachu climbed onto Lucy's shoulder.

"Come on, guys! Keep jumping!" cried Ash. The other Pikachu soon followed suit. In the balloon basket…

"These little rodents are bugging me!" cried Jessie. She then noticed that all the Pikachu were free.

"All the Pikachu have gotten away!" she cried.

"Not again!" cried Team Rocket. "But wait! There's still one Pikachu left! Let's grab it!" At exactly the right moment, Pikachu jumped out of the way and Team Rocket hit the hot air valve of their balloon, knocking it loose and making the balloon fill with more hot air and rise. Pikachu then climbed up the balloon and bit it, sending Team Rocket on their way.

"We're blasting off again!" they cried.

"Pikachu!" cried Ash. Pikachu jumped happily into Ash's arms.

"You did it, Pikachu!" cried Ash. Pikachu and Eevee went to check on the rest of the swarm and started a victory chant. As the group watched, Ash made an important decision.

"They all made it back safely." Said Misty.

"The perfect cause for a victory celebration." Said Lucy.

"Yeah. Ash really trained Pikachu well." Said Brock.

"I'm sure they're very proud." Said Lucy.

"You two did a great job!" cried Misty. Ash slowly started walking back to the campsite.

"Pika?" asked Little Pikachu, which meant 'What's going on with him?'

"We're going to find out right now." Said Lucy.

"Ash?" said brock.

"Where are you and Pikachu going?" cried Misty. They followed Ash down the path.

"We better follow them too, Little Pikachu. I don't like where this is headed." Said Lucy. She took off after Brock, Misty and Ash, with Little Pikachu in tow. The group soon heard the decision that Ash had made.

"What? You're leaving Pikachu?!" cried Brock.

"That's right." Said Ash.

"Eevee." Said Eevee, which meant 'He's crazy to make a decision like this.'

"I'll say." Said Lucy. "Ash, you can't possibly be serious about this."

"My mind's made up." Said Ash. Pikachu soon came by.

"Pika." He said, which meant 'Time to go, Ash.'

"Pikachu, you stay here." Said Ash. "I'm leaving."

"Pika?" said Pikachu, which meant 'Huh?'

"I know you'll be much happier her in the forest with the other Pikachu." Said Ash.

"Pika pi." Said Pikachu, which meant 'Ash, don't do this.' Ash gave Pikachu a pat on the head.

"Goodbye, Pikachu." He said. Ash started walking away, with Lucy, Eevee and Little Pikachu following behind.

"You're making a big mistake, Ash." Said Lucy. "Pikachu loves you way too much."

"Pikachu, please don't follow me." Said Ash. "These Pikachu here in the forest need you more than I do. So just…. Goodbye!" He started running, with Lucy close behind him.

"Pika Pi!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Ash!'

"Goodbye!" cried Ash.

"Pikachu." Said Pikachu, which meant 'But we're friends.'

"Ash, you're making a very big mistake!" cried Lucy. "Are you seriously going to throw away all your memories of you and Pikachu together like they don't even matter? You two have known each other for a long time, and you just want to up and leave him like that?!" Ash didn't answer her.

"Eevee." Said Eevee, which meant 'I think he needs to be talked out of this.'

"You're right about that, Eevee." Said Lucy. "Maybe Brock and Misty can talk some sense into him." She went back the other way, while Ash kept running ahead.

"Pikachu was my very first Pokemon." He thought. He then thought of everything that he and Pikachu had been through together on their journey, including catching Pidgeotto in Viridian Forest and their match with Lieutenant Surge at Vermillion gym. He even thought of what had happened on their first day when he and Lucy got attacked by the flock of Spearow.

"It's for the best, I guess." Ash whispered.

Soon, Lucy, Brock and Misty ran up to Ash.

"Ash!" cried Brock.

"Why are you doing this?!" cried Misty.

"I think he'll be better here rather than travel around with us." Said Ash. "He'll be happier this way.

"Ash, you're going to listen to me right now and you're going to listen good." Said Lucy. "And you better listen well, too, because what I'm about to tell you is something I'm only going to say once. Pikachu is your friend. More importantly, he's your best friend. You can't just throw away all the memories that you two have made together."

"Eevee?" asked Eevee, which meant 'Would you ever do something like that to me, Lucy?'

"Absolutely not." Said Lucy. "I love you way too much to do that. Too bad some of us don't agree."

Soon, the sun began to rise, and a familiar shadow appeared behind Ash.

"Is it…..it is!" cried Lucy. Ash looked and saw Pikachu standing behind him.

"Pikachu." Said Ash. The rest of the Pikachu clan soon appeared behind them as well. As Pikachu bid farewell to the clan with a tail shake, the others started to chant.

"What do you think they're doing?" said Misty.

"I think they might be cheering." Said Brock. "For Ash, and for Pikachu."

"You're right, Brock." Said Lucy. "That's exactly what they're doing!" Pikachu ran down the path to Ash and the two embraced in a hug.

"Pika pi!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Ash!'

"Pikachu." Said Ash. Little Pikachu whispered something to Lucy.

"If you're sure that's what you really want." She said.

"Eevee?" asked Eevee, which meant 'Is Little Pikachu joining us?'

"That's what it looks like, Eevee." Said Lucy. "More specifically, he's going to me. Now Ash's Pikachu will have a younger sibling, just like what we talked about earlier. This, dear Eevee, is what you call a happy ending." With a Pikachu becoming Lucy's newest addition to her Pokemon repertoire, another adventure has brought Ash and Pikachu even closer. In their hearts, they know that they'll go on to face every challenge together.

Episode 39: Super Pikachu Bros.

As the group continues on with their journey, we find that Little Pikachu is looking over at Ash's Pikachu with some curiosity on his mind.

"Pika pi Pikachu?" asked the little Pikachu, which meant 'How long have you and Ash been friends?'

"Pika, Pika." Answered Pikachu, which meant 'Quite a while.'

"Allow me to tell you the story, Little Pikachu." Said Lucy.

"Eevee." squealed Eevee, which meant 'I already know how it happened.'

"I know you know, Eevee, but little Pikachu doesn't." said Misty.

"That's why Ash and I are going to tell him." Said Lucy. "You see, little Pika bro, Ash and I were a little too overexcited about starting our Pokemon journey, and we ended up sleeping in much later than any of us should've. By the time Ash and I got to the lab, all of the regular starters had been taken."

"But lucky for us, Professor Oak still had Pikachu and Eevee left." Said Ash.

"That's right." Said Lucy. "The Pikachu that you see beside Ash is the very first Pokemon that he ever obtained, and the same goes for the Eevee that's beside me. The two of them are great friends with each other just like me and Ash are."

"Things weren't always the greatest between them, though." Said Brock.

"Right again." Said Ash. "Let's just say, little Pika, that we got off to a rough start on the first day after a run in with a Spearow flock, but after Pikachu saved us with a powerful electric attack, we've been best buds."

"Ever since then, it's been more or less smooth sailing." Said Lucy.

"Not exactly." Said Misty. "Little Pikachu doesn't know about all the run-ins we've had with Team Rocket."

"Misty, maybe it might be best that we not tell the little guy about that." Said Brock. "He's still young, and something like that can frighten him."

"Yeah, Brock's right." Said Lucy.

"Pika, Pika?" asked Little Pikachu, which meant 'How come Pikachu and Eevee don't stay in Poke Balls like most Pokemon do?'

"A very good question, Little Pikachu." Answered Lucy. "While it's true that most of our Pokemon stay in their Poke Balls unless we call them out for battle, Ash's Pikachu and my Eevee prefer to stay out here with us. Isn't that right, guys?"

"Eevee." Answered Eevee, which meant 'Right, Lucy.'

"Let me show you what I mean, Little Pikachu." Said Ash. He held out one of his own Poke Balls.

"My Charmander is currently resting in this one." He said. "Most of the time, he only comes out when I'm battling another trainer, but there might be other non battle instances where I need him."

"Pika." Said Little Pikachu, which meant 'I see.' Ash then put the Poke Ball away.

"So, what do you think little Pika?" said Lucy. "Is the Poke Ball something you'd be comfortable in?" The young Pikachu looked over at Eevee and Ash's Pikachu and saw how happy they were to just be walking around. The little one shook his head and made up his mind.

"Pi Chu Pika." He said, which meant 'I want to stay out here just like Pikachu and Eevee.' A smile lit up on Lucy's face.

"If that's what you want, then that's just fine with me." She said.

Later on, as Brock was preparing lunch for everybody, the two Pikachu decided that it would be a good idea to get acquainted with each other. Little Pikachu tried to shake Ash's Pikachu's paw, only to be greeted by a Thunder Shock attack.

"Pika pi!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'That wasn't very nice! You apologize right now!' Instead of apologizing, however, Ash's Pikachu tried to retaliate by swiping at the younger one with his tail, which the little one easily dodged. The fighting then got a bit louder, which drew the attention of Ash and Lucy.

"What's going on with the two of them?" said Lucy.

"I haven't a clue." Said Ash.

"Whatever they're fighting about, you guys better put a stop to it." Said Misty.

"Right." Said Ash. He and Lucy rushed over to where the two Pikachu were.

"Hey, you guys, what's going on over here?" Lucy asked.

"Pika! Pika!" cried Ash's Pikachu, which meant 'He started it!'

"Pikachu!" snapped Little Pikachu, which meant 'No, you started it by Thunder Shocking me!'

"Pika!" yelled Pikachu, which meant 'I didn't!'

"Pika! Chu!" yelled Little Pikachu, which meant 'You did!'

"Pi!" yelled Pikachu, which meant 'Didn't!'

"Pika!" yelled Little Pikachu, which meant 'Did!' Ash and Lucy decided that they needed to put a stop to the fighting.

"I don't care which of you started what." Said Ash. "If you guys are going to be friends, then that means you two need to learn to get along with each other."

"Ash is right." Said Lucy. "I get that you guys are still getting used to each other, and that's okay. But what's not okay is you guys fighting. The two of you aren't just Pokemon, you're also members of our family now. One thing family members should never do is fight with each other."

"Let's say one of us had some of our other Pokemon out, and they saw you behaving this way." Said Ash. "Do you think they'd enjoy seeing that?" The two Pikachu shook their heads.

"Pika chu Pika." Said Little Pikachu, which meant 'I guess not.'

"I guess not is right." Said Lucy. "If we catch you guys fighting again, there's going to be consequences. So consider this a warning for the both of you because I don't think you want to know the potential consequences."

"Lunch will be ready soon, anyway." Said Ash. "Why don't you two play with each other for a little while until then."

"Eevee." Squealed Eevee, which meant 'Can I play with them too?'

"Of course, Eevee." Said Lucy. The three Pokemon ran off happily together, while Ash and Lucy went to help Brock get lunch ready.

"What's on the menu today, Brock?" Misty asked.

"A fresh bowl of Ramen noodles." Answered Brock. "Only the finest in the entire region."

"Sounds yummy." Said Lucy.

A little while later, everyone was happily munching on their lunch.

"You're right, Brock." Said Lucy. "These noodles are really good." Not too far away from them, Eevee and the two Pikachu were chowing down on some bowls of Pokemon food that Brock had given them. It had a little extra flavor to it than normal, but that didn't matter to them too much. Little Pikachu was looking curiously at the bowl of food Ash's Pikachu was munching on and got a bit of a sneaky idea. He used his tail to knock some of the bigger Pikachu's food into his own bowl while Ash's Pikachu was chatting with Eevee.

"Eevee?" asked Eevee, which meant 'How are things working out with you and the little one so far?'

"Pika pi chu." Pikachu answered, which meant 'We're still working out the kinks.'

"Eevee." Said Eevee, which meant 'He's still young yet, just give him time.'

"Pika pi." Pikachu replied, which meant 'He also still has a lot to learn.' Eevee turned around quickly and saw what Little Pikachu was up to.

"Eevee!" she exclaimed, which meant 'One lesson would be to not steal food that belongs to someone else.' Pikachu turned around and gasped in horror.

"Pika!" Cried Pikachu, which meant 'Oh no!' He quickly ran over to Little Pikachu and snatched the bowl away from him.

"Pika!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Stop stealing my food!'

"Pi!" Little Pikachu answered, which meant 'It's my food too!' Pikachu angrily pointed out their bowls.

"Pika Pik!" he yelled, which meant 'Look, we each have our own bowls! You eat from your own bowl and stay away from mine!' But Little Pikachu wasn't listening and chewed on more of Pikachu's food.

"Pika Pi!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Stop that!' He tried to take his bowl away from Little Pikachu again, only for the younger one to knock it away from him and spill everything all over the ground. Pikachu got very angry, and stared at Little Pikachu.

"Eevee!" cried Eevee at Little Pikachu, which meant 'I don't think you should've done that!' She was right, because right at that moment, Pikachu let out a Thunder Shock at the young one. Little Pikachu responded by firing off a Thunder Shock of his own. The more they went at it, the louder the attacks became. Eevee had to turn away so that she wouldn't see the commotion.

"Misty, I think those Pikachu are fighting again." Said Brock. Misty had a look herself and gasped.

"You're right, Brock." She said.

"Not again." Sighed Lucy. She and Ash ran over to stop the noise.

"Cool it!" Ash yelled. The two Pikachu looked at their trainers.

"What did we say about the fighting earlier?!" Lucy scolded.

"Pika!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'He stole some of my food!'

"Pi Pika!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'You left it out in the open!'

"Pika pi Chu!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'It was right beside me, you idiot!'

"Eevee!" cried Eevee, which meant 'Make them stop, please!'

"That's exactly what we're trying to do, Eevee." Said Lucy. "I want you both to get along with each other, but fighting doesn't help anybody. So let's stop this right now, okay?" The two Pikachu nodded.

"If we catch you fighting one more time, then there's going to be trouble." Said Ash. Fortunately for Pikachu, Brock had plenty of Pokemon food available, and so he was able to eat after all.

A while later, the group was enjoying a post lunch nap so that they could recover some of their energy. Eevee was happily snoozing about; however, the two Pikachu were anything but tired. They casually walked around the forest a little bit and had a look at all the big trees. One of them had a huge apple hanging from the top.

"Pika pi." Said Pikachu, which meant 'You go get it.' Little Pikachu turned away from him.

"Pika!" he replied, which meant 'Get it yourself!'

"Pikachu!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Look, if we're going to be brothers, then we have to work together in some situations.' He then got an idea.

"Pika Chu." He said, which meant 'Let's combine our Thunder Shocks to get that apple down.'

"Pika!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'Great idea!' They unleashed their attacks, and sure enough, the apple came flying down to them.

"Pika!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Excellent teamwork little brother!'

"Pi Chu!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'Thanks, big brother!'

"Pika pik?" asked Pikachu, which meant 'I wonder which one of us should take the first bite.'

"Pikachu." Answered Little Pikachu, which meant 'I think I should take it.' Pikachu shook his head.

"Pika." He replied, which meant 'The older sibling always gets the first bite.'

"Pika?!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'Why do you have to eat it first?!'

"Pika pik." Said Pikachu, which meant 'Because I'm bigger, that's why. Also, it was my idea for us to work together to get this.' Little Pikachu tried to take the first bite, only to be stopped by Pikachu, who tried to pry it away from him.

"Pika!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'This belongs to me first!'

"Pikachu!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Over my dead Haunter! It's mine first!' The two of them loudly tried to try the apple away from the other. The noise woke Eevee up from her sleep.

"Eevee!" cried Eevee, which meant 'You two had better knock it off!'

"Pika!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'I'll stop when I get to have a bite!' He somehow managed to wrestle the apple away and enjoy a bite.

"Pi! Pika!" yelled Pikachu, which meant 'Give that back!' He tried to wrestle the apple away from Little Pikachu, resulting in another tug of war. Eevee quickly turned and saw angry footsteps marching towards the two of them.

"Eevee!" cried Eevee, which meant 'You better stop before Ash and Lucy catch you again!' It was too late. Both trainers had already made it over to the two Pikachu, and neither of them were happy. Lucy plucked the apple away from Little Pikachu and threw it far into the distance.

"Neither of you get to have it now." She said. "That's the third time today that Ash and I have caught you two fighting."

"Eevee." Said Eevee, which meant 'I tried to stop them.'

"I know you did, Eevee." Said Lucy.

"We told you guys what would happen if this kept up, and now you're about to find out." Said Ash. He and Lucy picked up their Pikachu and placed them behind a different tree.

"Since you two can't seem to behave right now, we have no choice but to separate the two of you." Said Lucy. "You're both going to stand there, and neither of you are to move until we tell you." Lucy and Ash walked away from them, and shortly after they had gone, Eevee ran up to the two Pikachu. To say that she was disappointed in them would be putting things lightly.

"Eevee." She said, which meant 'See what your stupid fighting has caused?'

"Pika!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'It's all his fault!'

"Pikachu!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Me?! You started it by trying to attack me earlier. That's why we're in time out now.'

"Eevee!" cried Eevee, which meant 'You're both in time out because you both acted up. Don't make things worse for yourselves.' The two Pikachu realized that Eevee had a point, but then they realized something else.

"Pika?" asked Little Pikachu, which meant 'Do you think Ash and Lucy still like us?'

"Pi Pika." Answered Pikachu, which meant 'I'm sure they do.'

"Pika, Pika." Said Little Pikachu sadly, which meant 'They must not like us that much if they put us here unfairly.'

Some time passed, during which the two Pikachu were feeling sorry for themselves. They hadn't meant to cause any trouble. It had just sort of happened. Then, all of a sudden, Pikachu then got an idea.

"Pikachu." He said, which meant 'We'll run away. That'll really show 'em.' The two Pikachu ran off down a path leading north of where they were. Eevee shook her head.

"Eevee." She muttered, which meant 'I have a bad feeling about this.' The two Pikachu were enjoying themselves, but a little while later, they found themselves being attacked by a bunch of Pidgey and Rattata. The two Pikachu used their electric attacks to fend them off and ran onwards. But a fair distance later, there was trouble. Pikachu and Little Pikachu were finally enjoying themselves together before realizing something important.

"Pika." Said Little Pikachu, which meant 'We should probably go back before Ash and Lucy find out that we're not where we're supposed to be.'

"Pika pi." Said Pikachu, which meant 'That's a good idea.' They tried running back, but they found that they had forgotten the direction they had come from. Little Pikachu was scared.

"Pikachu." He said, which meant 'I think we're lost, big brother.'

"Pika!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'You're right.' The two of them started calling out for their trainers, but in the midst of all of that, they heard the voice of a familiar cat Pokemon.

"What have we here?" said Meowth. "It looks like two little Pikachu all alone and lost in the woods."

"Where's those two twerps?" asked Jessie.

"Pika!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Back at the camp.'

"Pika pi." Said Little Pikachu, which meant 'We can't find our way back.'

"Well then, leave that to us." Said James. "We're experts at finding lost Pokemon and returning them to their owners. We'll help you get back to those little twerps you call trainers." Pikachu and Little Pikachu felt relieved. They slowly inched closer to Team Rocket, until they were suddenly grabbed by a pair of robotic hands.

"Now we've got you!" cried Meowth. The two Pikachu screamed as loud as they could.

Back at the campsite…...

"Do you think maybe we were too harsh on our Pikachu?" said Lucy.

"On the contrary, I think you both did the right thing." Said Misty. "You told them multiple times to stop, and they didn't listen, so they had to go into time out."

"I think we should get them out of time out." Said Ash. "I just hope they've learned their lesson." The group went back to the trees where Pikachu and Little Pikachu had been left alone, but they only found Eevee there.

"Eevee, where are the Pikachu?" asked Lucy.

"Eevee!" cried Eevee, which meant 'Up there!' The gang looked and saw that both of the Pikachu were in distress. Jessie, James and Meowth had trapped them in a mechanical Pikachu machine.

"Pikachu!" cried Ash.

"Pika pi!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Ash!'

"Pik!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'Lucy, help me!'

"Who would do such a terrible thing to them?!" cried Lucy.

"Prepare for trouble!" shouted Jessie.

"Make it double!" cried James. Ash and Lucy gritted their teeth.

"Does that answer your question?" cried Misty.

"Meowth, that's right!" Jessie grabbed a megaphone.

"Attention, twerps!" she yelled. "These two Pikachu now belong to us!"

"We'll take good care of them!" cried James. "We promise!"

"The only thing you'll be taking care of is the damage that machine of yours is going take!" cried Ash. "Pikachu, you and the little one use Thunder Shock to try and break yourselves out of there!" The two Pikachu used their electric attacks, but nothing happened.

"What?!" cried Lucy. Meowth gave out an evil laugh.

"Ha! You two better put your battery packs away." He said. "That glass is completely shock resistant!"

"Naturally Team Rocket would do something like that." Said Lucy.

"I think they might actually be getting a little bit smarter." Said Misty.

"Then I'm going to have to be a bit smarter myself." Said Ash. "Since electricity won't break that thing, maybe something else will." He quickly grabbed a Poke Ball and got ready to toss it.

"Charmander, Flamethrower!' he cried. Lucy quickly stopped him before he could summon the fire type.

"No, Ash, that's not a good idea!" she cried.

"Why not?" asked. Ash.

"If you have Charmander use a fire attack, there's a good chance he'll burn up both of our Pikachu." Lucy answered.

"Oh yeah, I didn't think of that." Said Ash. Lucy grabbed a Poke Ball herself.

"Butterfree, I choose you!" she cried. Her pink Butterfree materialized.

"Tackle attack!" she cried. Butterfree charged at the machine and repeatedly tackled it over and over again, to no avail.

"You think that weak little attack is going to stop us?" said jessie.

"Better keep trying, twerps." Said Meowth.

"Butterfree, return!" cried Lucy. The flying type got absorbed back into the ball.

"Bulbasaur, go!" cried Ash. Bulbasaur materialized.

"Use your Vine Whip, now!" cried Ash. Bulbasaur shot its vines out, and despite bashing the machine over and over again, nothing happened.

"You're doing better, but still not good enough!" cried Meowth.

"Time for me to try!" cried Misty. "Staryu, I need you now!" She was about to toss Staryu's Poke Ball when Psyduck unexpectedly popped up.

"Psyduck!" it cried with a look of confidence. Misty growled angrily at the duck.

"You don't come out unless I call for you!" she yelled. "Return!" Psyduck was recalled, and Staryu finally materialized.

"Use your Water Gun attack, Staryu!" cried Misty. Staryu shot out a blast of water at the machine, but it simply bounced off the glass and disappeared.

"Thanks for the shower, Staryu!" cried Meowth.

"Water doesn't work either?!" cried Misty.

"That's one tough machine." Said brock.

"Pidgeotto, I choose you!" cried Ash. Pidgeotto materialized.

"Pidgeotto, Gust attack!" yelled Ash. Pidgeotto flapped his wings loudly to perform the attack, and some damage was finally done.

"Hey, you stupid bird. What's the big idea?!" cried Meowth. He responded by controlling the machine's arms to try and punch Pidgeotto backwards, but the bird dodged the punches. While that battle was going on, the two Pikachu came up with another idea.

"Pika!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Are you ready?' Little Pikachu nodded, and the two of them started banging their tails against the glass.

"Pidgeotto, return!" cried Ash. Pidgeotto was absorbed back into the ball.

"Hey Ash, look what those two Pikachu are doing!" cried Brock. Ash smiled when he saw what brock was talking about.

"Pikachu and Little Pikachu are finally working together without fighting." He said.

"It's about time." Said Lucy. "Keep banging away at the glass, guys!" The two Pikachu hammered away at the glass.

"What the?!" cried Jessie. "Hey, stop that! That's expensive glass!"

"Uh, Jessie, exactly how expensive was it to install that?" said James.

"About maybe four or five paychecks worth of salary." Said Jessie.

"What?!" James cried.

"And you thought he was crazy after buying that Magikarp on the St. Anne." Said Meowth. James glared at him.

"Don't you EVER mention that Pokemon again!" he yelled. Down below the trio, Pikachu and Little Pikachu were still trying to break the glass. It wasn't easy, but once a chunk finally broke off, they were able to continue breaking until it got to the point where they were able to escape and climb onto the top of the machine.

"Uh, how much do you want to bet the boss is going to be willing to replace that glass?" said Meowth.

"He's never going to do anything else for us once he sees that the Pikachu have destroyed it." Answered Jessie. Both of the Pikachu ran down briefly and stuck their tongues out at Team Rocket before going back up to the top.

"Great work, both of you!" cried Ash.

"Now, both of you hit them with a really strong Thunderbolt!" cried Lucy. The two Pikachu nodded and got ready to aim.

"I think we're about to be in for the shock of our lives!" cried Meowth. The two Pikachu gave Team Rocket some smirky smiles before unleashing the attack. With the glass now completely destroyed, the attack had no problem getting through the opening. Next thing Team Rocket knew, they were zapped, the machine exploded, and the trio was sent upwards into the air.

"Things were going so well!" cried Jessie.

"Until they weren't!" cried James.

"The only thing we seem to do well is….." started Meowth.

"Blasting off again!" All three of them yelled. The two Pikachu jumped back down to the ground and ran over to Ash and Lucy.

"That was so amazing to see!" cried Lucy.

"It looks like you two finally learned about how important it is to work together." Said Ash.

"Pika pi." Said Pikachu proudly, which meant 'Using our tails to break the glass was my idea.'

"And it was a very good idea, too." Said Lucy. She then put her stern face on. "You two still have a time out to finish." The two Pikachu frowned, but Ash spoke next.

"I don't think that'll be necessary." He said. "Now, do you two know why we had to put you in that time out earlier?" Little Pikachu nodded.

"Pika pi." He said, which meant 'We were both misbehaving.'

"That's right." Said Lucy. "As long as you both understand what you did wrong and learn from it, you know not to act out like that again."

"Pika." Said Little Pikachu, which meant 'I'm sorry I kept trying to steal your food before, big brother.' Pikachu smiled at him.

"Pika Chu." He said, which meant 'It's okay, little brother.'

"I'm glad you two are making up." Said Misty.

"Pika pik." Said Little Pikachu, which meant 'Let's never fight like that again.'

"Pika." Said Pikachu, which meant 'Agreed.'

"The way you guys handled Team Rocket, I think we may have to call you the Super Pikachu Brothers from now on." Said Brock. Everyone just laughed. It seems that both of our Pikachu friends learned a valuable lesson today, which is that major fights can lead to major problems. But with all the fighting now behind them, our heroes can look forward to the next adventure that awaits them.

Episode 40: Snow Way Out

As Ash and his friends continue on with their journey, they figure that their future is favorable. But the group is about to discover a fateful fork! I have a feeling there may also be some foreboding.

Pikachu and Eevee were walking just slightly ahead of everyone when they stopped at the fork in the road.

"Pikachu?" asked Pikachu, which meant 'So, which way?'

"Eevee?" asked Eevee, which meant 'Where shall we go?'

"Pikachu and Eevee are asking which way we go." Said Lucy.

"Let's see." Said Brock.

"I say we go that way!" cried Ash. He pointed to the right path in the fork.

"No way!" cried Brock. "That trail leads us right up a mountain!"

"I don't want to go mountain climbing!" cried Misty.

"What's a little hill?" said Ash. "Come on, Pikachu. You two, Little Pikachu."

"You call that honking mountain a "little hill"?!" cried Lucy.

"All right, but I hope you know what you're doing." Said Misty.

"Pika pi?" asked Little Pikachu, which meant 'He doesn't know what he's doing, does he?'

"Not at all." Lucy answered. Once Misty saw how big the mountain was, she was quite shocked and surprised.

"This isn't a hill!" she cried. "We practically need a ski lift to get up this thing, Ash."

"I think we better turn back and go the other way." Said Brock. Ash disagreed.

"A Pokemon master always stays on course no matter the challenge." He said. "I'm not going to let a little pile of snow stop me!"

"Pikachu!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Me either!'

"Pika!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'I don't like this big mountain!'

Soon, the group was climbing up the mountain, which was very large compared to some of the other mountains they had already passed by.

"I'm freezing!" cried Misty. "How much longer until we get over this thing?!"

"The more you whine, the longer it'll take." Said Lucy. Ash then got an idea.

"Charmander, I choose you!" he cried. Lucy stopped him before the ball could be thrown.

"Fire melts snow, and any loud noise can cause an avalanche, which would bury us alive and likely kill us." Said Lucy.

"I guess I didn't think that one through too well." Said Ash.

"Gee, you think?!" cried Lucy.

"According to the map, we should be close to the top." Said Brock. He checked his compass to make sure, but it kept spinning around and around.

"That's weird." He said.

"What's weird?" asked Lucy.

"The compass went crazy!" cried Brock. "This mountain must have so much iron that it's throwing the needle off!"

"But if the compass doesn't work, how are we going to find our way?" asked Lucy.

"Now, don't panic." Said Brock. "If the sun's up at about three o'clock, then according to my calculations, that means…"

"What? What does it mean?" asked everyone else.

"We're lost." Brock answered. Everyone fell over in disbelief.

"All right, Ash. You made this mountain into a molehill, now get us off of it!" cried Misty.

"Calm down, Misty." Said Lucy. "If you make too much noise, there could be an avalanche."

"I know!" cried Ash. He quickly grabbed a Poke Ball.

"Pidgeotto, I choose you!" he cried. Pidgeotto materialized.

"Great idea, Ash." Said Lucy. "Butterfree, go!" She tossed one of her own Poke Balls and Butterfree materialized.

"All right, you two. Find a trail that will lead us down the mountain." Said Ash. The two flying types quickly took flight so they could find a way down the mountain.

"Pika pik?" asked Little Pikachu, which meant 'Can they find a way down for us?'

"I sure hope so, little one." Said Lucy. Pidgeotto and Butterfree soon returned.

"Did you find a way down?" asked Ash. The two of them nodded and pointed the way down.

"Good work, Pidgeotto!" cried Ash.

"Awesome job, Butterfree!" cried Lucy.

"See? No sweat." Said Ash.

Meanwhile, in a snow covered forest not too far away…..

"Why did they come the cold way?" asked Meowth. "I feel like a cat-sicle."

"I hate snow as much as you do, but she loves it." Said James. Jessie was having fun singing and dancing in the snow.

"Jessie, you don't actually like this frozen fluff, do you?" James wondered.

"I love snow!" she cried. "It brings back delicious memories!"

"The snow's making her a little flaky." Said Meowth.

"Huh? I'm totally serious." Said Jessie. "Haven't you ever heard of a snowgasborg?"

"Snowgasborg. One of the few cherished memories of my otherwise wretched childhood." said Jessie.

Flashback

A younger Jessie was having fun outside her house on a snowy day when she was called by her mother.

"Jessie! Snowgasborg's ready!" she cried.

"Oh boy!" cried young Jessie.

"Here, darling, I made all your favorite dishes." Said Jessie's mother. Young Jessie eyed the dishes in wonder.

"Here's a snow loaf with some snow sauce, a sampler of sushi snow rolls, Idasnow potatoes with snow sour cream, and for desert, a bowl of your favorite, snow pudding." Said Jessies' mother. "Happy Snowgasborg."

"This is the best snowgasborg any mommy ever made!" cried young Jessie.

End Flashback

"There's nothing like snome cooking." Said Jessie.

"I can't believe what I'm hearing." Said James.

"You must be joking!" exclaimed Meowth. "Your mother actually made meals out of snow?"

"We had to make do." Jessie explained. "Besides, snow food is low in fat and helped me maintain my fabulous figure." James and Meowth were both speechless and surprised.

"A snowroll with just a dash of soy sauce." Said Jessie. "There's nothing like it. Of course, only freshly fallen snow will do."

"Sounds awful." Said James.

"Yeah, but at least it's all natural." Said Meowth.

"Let's get going before the sun sets!" cried Jessie. "We can head them off if we use the balloon!" The balloon soon inflated with hot air.

"Let's make like the snow and drift!" cried Jessie. James let out a laugh.

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender…" Meowth suddenly interrupted them with a scream.

"Stop interrupting, Meowth!" cried Jessie.

"We're getting to the best part!" cried James.

"But the balloon's drifting away!" cried Meowth. Jessie and James looked up and saw that their balloon was floating away from them. The Team Rocket trio started to chase after it.

"Come down here!" cried Jessie.

"Don't leave us stranded!" cried James.

"We need the hot air!" cried Meowth.

Meanwhile, dark clouds were gathering over Ash's group and the temperature was dropping drastically.

"Brrrr!" shivered Brock. "We've been walking all day and we're not even close to the top!" Snow soon began to fall.

"Hey, it's snowing." Said Ash.

"Those dark clouds tell everything." Said Lucy. "This is just a prelude to a big snowstorm."

"Oh no! It was clear a second ago!" cried Misty.

"The weather in these mountains is totally unpredictable." Said Brock.

"Little Pikachu can't handle extreme cold." Said Lucy. Little Pikachu was starting to shiver a bit.

"Here, little guy, you'll be safe in my backpack." Said Lucy. She picked up her Pikachu and placed him inside her bag, which made the young Pikachu feel better.

"We better get moving before the sun moves down." Said Ash.

"Yeah. If the sun goes down, we'll be in real trouble." Said Lucy.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket had been unsuccessful in chasing down their balloon.

"We're sunk." Groaned James. "All of our food and supplies were on that balloon."

"And it's starting to snow." Said Meowth.

"I'm getting hungry." Said James. Jessie just stared blankly at the snow.

"James, Meowth." She said.

"What is it, Jessie?" asked James.

"Do you have a plan to get us out of here?" asked Meowth.

"I can make snow rolls." Said Jessie. James and Meowth fell over in disbelief.

"Snow rolls?" said Meowth.

"I think I need something a little more substantial." Said James.

"There's some soy sauce in the balloon, and we have to get it!" cried Jessie. "I can't make snow rolls mama's way without soy sauce! Let's go!" She started marching off towards the balloon.

"I think I'd rather have ketchup on my snow rolls." Said Meowth.

"I like mustard on mine." Said James.

Meanwhile, Ash's group was stuck in a major snowstorm.

"I knew something like this would happen!" cried Lucy.

"We have to keep going." Said Ash.

"But I'm too frozen to go any further!" cried Misty.

"So am I." said Lucy. "Not to mention that my shorts are NOT appropriate for snow weather."

"I think we better stop and set up camp for the night." Said Brock.

"But that trail has to be close!" cried Ash.

"Come on, Ash." Said brock. "There's no way we'll find anything in this blizzard.

"Brock has a point, Ash." Said Lucy. "By the time we find anything, we'll be frozen solid!"

"I'm not scared of the snow." Said Ash. "Let's keep going."

"No way, Ash!" cried Lucy. "When a storm gets bad like this, it's better to dig in and let it blow over. Besides all of that, the sun's going to set soon. Not even the bravest of Pokemon trainers would wander around in a snow storm in the dark."

"I guess you're right." Said Ash.

"Good! Let's start digging a cave in the snow." Said Brock.

"Okay." Said Ash. A large gust of wind suddenly blew in, knocking Ash down and blowing Pikachu away.

"Pikachu!" cried Ash.

"Eevee!" cried Eevee, which meant 'Oh no! Pikachu!' Ash got back up.

"Pikachu!" he cried again.

"I can't let Ash get lost out there on his own." Said Lucy. "Come on, Eevee, we have to go get him." She started to follow Ash.

"Wait!" cried Misty.

"Stay here!" cried Brock. "We'll get lost out there!" More wind blew in as Ash went after Pikachu, and Lucy and Eevee went after Ash.

"Ash, wait for me!" cried Lucy.

"Eevee!" cried Eevee, which meant 'He's going to run into trouble.'

"Trouble is one thing we can't afford right now, Eevee." Said Lucy.

Meanwhile, Ash was blindly looking around for Pikachu, while Lucy and Eevee kept chasing after him.

"Pikachu?! Where are you?!" called Ash.

"Ash! Can you hear me?!" cried Lucy.

"Pikachu! I'm here!" cried Ash.

Up ahead…..

Pikachu?!" cried Ash.

"Ash! Come back, please!" cried Lucy.

"Pikachu, can you hear me?" cried Ash. "It's me, your friend Ash!"

"Pika pi!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'Is big brother all right?'

"Let's hope so." Said Lucy. Ash fell face first into the snow as Lucy and Eevee caught up to him.

"Ash! Are you all right?" said Lucy. "Say something so that I know you're there!" She heard Ash make groaning sounds.

"Phew. You're okay." Said Lucy.

"Of course I'm okay." Said Ash. He and Lucy looked at all the snow around them.

"Well, both of us are stranded now." Said Lucy. "I can't see anything in this blizzard." Pikachu was soon heard, and Ash got up immediately.

"That sound." Said Lucy. "That can only be one thing…."

"Pikachu!?" cried Ash. Pikachu's voice was then heard again.

"I think Pikachu's behind us!" cried Lucy.

"Pikachu!" cried Ash. They both turned and followed Pikachu's voice.

"Pikachu?!" cried Ash.

"Where are you, little guy?!" cried Lucy.

"Pik!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'Big brother, please come out!' A ledge then broke and both Ash and Lucy slid down.

"That was a trip." Said Lucy. Pikachu's voice was heard again.

"Pikachu?" said Ash.

"It sounds like he's close." Said Lucy. They looked down the ledge in front of them and saw Pikachu hanging on for dear life.

"Eevee!" squealed Eevee, which meant 'Pikachu!'

"Pika Chu!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'Big brother!'

"Pikachu, here!" cried Ash. "Grab a hold of my hand." Pikachu and Ash reached for each other, with Eevee and Lucy watching carefully.

"Come on, Pikachu." Said Lucy. Just fingertips apart, Pikachu lost his grip and fell again.

"Pikachu!" cried Ash.

"No!" cried Lucy. Pikachu was able to catch himself on a small ledge.

"At least he saved himself." Said Lucy. "But now, the problem is that he's out of reach."

"Come on, think." Said Ash. "I've got to figure out a way to rescue Pikachu from there."

"Please tell me you actually have a smart idea for once." Said Lucy.

"I know exactly what to do!" cried Ash. "Bulbasaur, I choose you!" he tossed a Poke Ball and Bulbasaur materialized.

"Bulbasaur, use your Vine Whip to pull Pikachu up the side of that cliff!" cried Ash.

"Smart idea, Ash." Said Lucy. Bulbasaur got his vines out. The vines managed to reach Pikachu in order to pull him up and Pikachu grabbed hold of the vines.

"That's it! Now hold on tight and we'll pull you right up." Said Ash. Pikachu slipped and fell again, however.

"Pikachu!" cried Ash.

"Not again!" cried Lucy. She quickly reached for a Poke Ball.

"Bulbasaur, I choose you!" she cried. Her own Bulbasaur materialized.

"Bulbasaur, help out Ash's Bulbasaur by using your Vine Whip to get Pikachu." she ordered. The two Bulbasaur extended their vines further down and caught Pikachu.

"Nice job, guys!" cried Ash.

"Now grab those vines and pull!" cried Lucy. Bulbasaur pulled Pikachu up tightly.

"Just a little further, Pikachu!" cried Ash. "We've almost got you!" Pikachu was soon reunited with his trainer and best friend.

"Eevee!" cried Eevee, which meant 'Pikachu! Thank goodness!'

"Pik pika!" cried Little Pikachu, which meant 'He's okay!'

"Pikachu!" Ash cried happily.

"You had us worried there, pal." Said Lucy. "We thought we'd lost you."

"Pika Pi. Pikachu." Said Pikachu, which meant 'Ash, thank you.'

"You're welcome." Said Ash.

"As heartwarming as this Pokemon and trainer reunion is, we have to find Brock and Misty, and quickly." Said Lucy. The evidence of this was Pikachu imitating Brock.

"Oh, you're right. Brock!" cried Ash. "We better go back!"

Later, Ash and Lucy tried climbing the ledge, but they kept sliding back down.

"It's no use, Lucy." Said Ash. "We can't get back up."

"What do we do now?" said Lucy.

"I'll try calling for them." Said Ash. "Brock! Misty!" But there was no answer.

"They'll never hear us from here, Ash." Said Lucy. More cold wind blew, making Pikachu and Eevee shiver.

"Pikachu!" cried Ash.

"Eevee!" cried Lucy. "We can't stay out here all night, Ash! We need shelter, fast!"

"We can start digging a snow cave, just like Brock said." Replied Ash. The two of them started to dig.

"We'll be okay, Pikachu." Said Ash.

"Everything's going to be just fine, Eevee." Said Lucy.

"Eevee!" squealed Eevee, which meant 'Dig faster! My fur's getting cold!' The two friends soon felt a pain in their hands.

"My hands are getting too numb to keep digging." Said Ash.

"Same here." Said Lucy. "You got any more bright ideas in that pea sized brain of yours?"

"I do." Said Ash. "Charmander can help!"

"Good thinking." Said Lucy. "Arcanine can actually help us out with this too." Ash threw a Poke Ball.

"Charmander, I choose you!" he cried. Charmander materialized.

"Arcanine, go!" cried Lucy. Arcanine materialized.

"Charmander, use your Flamethrower to blast through the snow!" cried Ash.

"You too, Arcanine." Said Lucy. "Use your own Flamethrower attack." The two attacks made a cave big enough for everyone.

"Not bad!" cried Ash. "Squirtle! Bulbasaur!" Squirtle and Bulbasaur materialized.

"Okay, everyone, let's get to work and seal off this cave." Said Ash. While the cave was being worked on, Lucy tended to Eevee, who was still shivering.

"Oh, Eevee, you're going to get sick if you have to stay out here like this much longer." Said Lucy. She got a warm blanket out of her bag and placed it gently around her partner.

"How does that feel?" she asked.

"Eevee." Eevee answered, which meant 'Much better. Thank you.' Ash and the other Pokemon finished sealing the cave.

"That should do it!" cried Ash.

"That keeps us safe from the cold weather outside." Said Lucy. "What about in here, though?"

"We just have to warm this place up a little." Said Ash. "Let's all get around Charmander's flame."

"I just hope the flame doesn't cause the place to melt." Said Lucy. Ash, Lucy and the Pokemon all gathered around Charmander's flame.

"Bulba! Saur!" cried Bulbasaur, which meant 'Can you turn up the heat a little?'

"Char!" cried Charmander, which meant 'You got it!' His flame grew larger.

"The heat is on!" cried Ash.

"Indeed." Said Lucy. "Thanks a bunch, Charmander."

Meanwhile, Team Rocket had taken refuge in an igloo.

"We're doomed." Groaned James. "How are we ever going to survive in this ugh-loo?"

"And this candle is our last bit of heat." Said Meowth. The candle soon went out.

"Dinner time!" cried Jessie. "Mom's secret recipe snow rolls!"

"I'm just not in the mood for frozen food." Said James.

"Now all we have left are a couple of burned out matches." Said Meowth. James took a match.

"If we pretend that they're heating lamps, maybe they'll be enough to keep us warm." He said. Jessie took a match for herself.

"We just have to use our imaginations." She said.

"I'll try anything to warm up." Said Meowth. He pictured himself in a hot spring.

"This place is delightfully warm." He said. "Just like clam chowder."

"This is the perfect place to soak up the sun." said James. He pictured himself at a tropical resort hotel.

"It must be over a hundred, but there's no humidity." He said.

"Oh my. I wish I had an air conditioner." Said Jessie. She pictured herself wearing plenty of warm clothing, in a desert, and surrounded by heaters.

"This desert is scorching." She said. "I don't think I've ever been so hot in my entire life. Yep, it's mighty hot all right." Jessie soon saw James and Meowth fast asleep. She slapped the two of them.

"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" she yelled. "You can't fall asleep!"

"Surf's up." Said James.

"I can't find my rubber duckie in the bath." Said Meowth. He and James almost fell asleep again.

"Wake up, or you'll freeze!" screamed Jessie. "Open your eyes! Jump up and down! Just stay awake!"

In the cave, Ash, Lucy and their Pokemon were all keeping warm. Even Little Pikachu was out and huddled around Charmander's flame with the others.

"I hope Misty and Brock are all right." Said Ash.

"I'm sure they're fine, Ash." Said Lucy. "Brock seems to be an expert when it comes to handling blizzard situations." Charmander's flame suddenly started getting lower.

"Uh oh. The flame on Charmander's tail is getting weaker." Said Lucy. "That's not good."

"Eevee." Said Eevee, which meant 'It definitely isn't.'

"Charmander, are you okay?" Ash asked.

"The tail speaks for itself." Said Lucy. Ash gasped when he saw the low flame level on Charmander's tail.

"Charmander, your flame's all used up!" cried Ash. "Come on, you better get back into your Poke Ball and rest." Charmander refused, however.

"You have to!" cried Ash. "You have to conserve your energy!" He forcefully returned Charmander to its Poke Ball.

"Come to think of it, the Poke Balls should be pretty warm." Said Ash.

"I think I have the same idea that you do." Said Lucy. "Okay, Arcanine, you're going back into your Poke Ball." Arcanine didn't want to, however.

"I'm not in the mood to argue with you, Arcanine." Said Lucy. "Back into your Poke Ball you go." She recalled Arcanine.

"Bulbasaur, Squirtle, you're going back into your Poke Balls." Said Ash. Like with Charmander, both of them refused.

"You have to go in!" cried Ash. "You'll be a lot warmer in there than out here in the cold." Bulbasaur and Squirtle were also forcefully recalled.

"Pikachu, in you go!" Ash ordered.

"Pika!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'No way!' He jumped right to Ash.

"Pikachu!" cried Ash.

"Pikachu doesn't like being in a Poke Ball, remember?" asked Lucy. "Remember what Dexter said on day one of our journey together? Some Pokemon don't like being confined, even if it's for their own safety."

"Pikachu, you want to stay out here and keep me warm?" asked Ash. Pikachu nodded. Eevee curled up beside Lucy.

"Like with Pikachu, Eevee also wants to stay out of her Poke Ball so that she can help me stay warm myself." Said Lucy.

"I just hope that our Pokemon are warm enough." Said Ash. He then got an idea and took his jacket off. He put his Poke Balls on it and wrapped them up to keep the Pokemon warm.

"That should help." He said. "Come here, Pikachu." Pikachu jumped into Ash's arms, but suddenly, the cave entrance broke a bit, causing some cold air to blow inside.

"Oh no, we have a draft!" cried Lucy. Ash quickly blocked it with his own body.

"It's so cold!" cried Ash.

"Pika!" cried Pikachu, which meant 'Very cold!'

"Eevee!" cried Eevee, which meant 'Too cold!'

"Listen to me, Pikachu, you have to get in your Poke Ball now!" cried Ash. Pikachu refused.

"I'm serious!" Ash yelled. "Get in your Poke Ball! NOW!" Pikachu refused again.

"He hates being confined, Ash!" cried Lucy.

"Pikachu!" cried Ash. Pikachu clung to Ash's leg and refused to let go.

"I promise I'll be okay, as long as I know that you're safe." Said Ash. "Pikachu, it's an order!"

"Ash, where is your mind at right now?" said Lucy. "You KNOW that Pikachu doesn't like being in his Poke Ball, so you shouldn't be forcing him into doing something he doesn't want to do."

"Eevee?" asked Eevee, which meant 'Is that why you didn't try to force me into my own ball?'

"Yes, Eevee, that's exactly why." Said Lucy. "It was already established on day one that you didn't like being in your Poke Ball, which is why I always let you stay out with me. Too bad some of us don't know how to read the room." Ash gave Lucy a cold and angry stare, and then suddenly, all of Ash's Pokemon materialized.

"Huh?" he said.

"I guess your other Pokemon feel the same way that Pikachu does." Said Lucy.

"Bulbasaur? Squirtle? Charmander? Pidgeotto? Hitmonchan?" he said. "My friends." Of Lucy's Pokemon, Butterfree, Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Arcanine martialized on their own.

"See, Ash?" asked Lucy. "Our Pokemon care about our safety just like they care about their own." Ash got teary eyed.

"You win." He sighed. "I guess we'll all be cold together."

"If this does end up being the end, Ash, it was nice knowing you." Said Lucy. "I'm glad we got to travel together." The two trainers and their Pokemon prepared for a possible end. The following morning, a fire melted the snow to reveal that Ash, Lucy and their Pokemon were all still alive.

"The blizzard's over!" cried Ash.

"We managed to survive it." Said Lucy. "And look, the sun's rising!" A beautiful sunrise was taking place over the horizon.

"It sure is beautiful." Said Ash.

"Now we just have to….." said Lucy, but her sentence was cut off by a pair of voices.

"Ash! Lucy!" cried Brock.

"Guys, up here!" cried Misty. Ash and Lucy turned and saw brock and Misty above them.

"It's great to see you!" cried Ash.

"I'll say!" cried Lucy. Onix helped Ash and Lucy up to where Brock and Misty were.

"How'd you two get through that storm?" asked Misty.

"We made a cave, just like Brock said." Said Ash.

"Lucky for us, we didn't have to freeze all night in the one that I dug." Said Brock.

"What do you mean?" asked Lucy.

"Onix dug into an underground hot spring." Said Misty. "You wouldn't believe how comfy we were!" Ash and Lucy couldn't believe it.

"Well we weren't comfy at all, that's for sure!" cried Ash.

"Yeah, Ash and I nearly froze to death last night!" cried Lucy. "I've never been through a blizzard that bad in all my life!"

"Speaking of blizzards, look what the one from last night blew in." said Brock. The group soon spotted something familiar that had Meowth's shape on it.

"It's Team Rocket's balloon!" cried Ash.

"And no sign of Team Rocket anywhere." Said Lucy.

"I wonder how they lost it." Said Ash.

"Finder's keepers!" cried Lucy happily.

"I's out of fuel, but I know how we can fix that." Said Brock. "Go, Vulpix!" he cried. Vulpix materialized.

"Vulpix, Flamethrower, now!" cried Brock. The attack filled the balloon with hot air and the group boarded it.

"Up, up and away!" cried Brock. The group was soon airborne.

Meanwhile…

"That hurt!" cried Meowth.

"I hurt more!" cried Jessie. "But if we don't stay awake, we'll be history!"

"If we survive this, I'm going to need a facelift!" cried James. Jessie turned and spotted their balloon.

"Look up there!" she cried.

"That's our balloon!" cried James.

"Hey!" cried Meowth.

"Hold on!" cried James.

"Wait for us!" cried Jessie. The trio soon fell into a hot spring.

"What's this?" Meowth wondered.

"It's a hot spring, just like the one you imagined." Said James.

"I guess my wish came true!" cried Meowth.

"Well, whatever it is, it feels lovely." Said jessie.

"Team Rocket's warming up again!" the three of them cried. As they spoke, Ash's group heard their voices.

"Did you guys hear what I just heard?" asked Ash.

"I didn't hear anything." Said Misty.

"You're probably hearing things, Ash." Said Lucy. Brock soon spotted something.

"Hey, look!" he cried.

"We're coming up on some greenery." Said Lucy.

"It's a town!" cried Ash.

"We made it!" cried Misty.

"We finally found warmth!" Lucy cried. Ash and his friends managed to survive the snow, and now they're soaring on to their next exciting adventure. Hmm, I wonder if Team Rocket ever got off that mountain.

The team Rocket trio tried to leave the hot spring, but a cold wind prevented them from doing so.

"It's too hot to stay in." said Jessie.

"But it's too cold to get out." Said James.

"I'm going to wind up with hot feet and a head cold." Said Meowth.

"We're all washed up!" they cried.
