Lillie Aether has fled. Fled the Aether Foundation, fled the only home's ever known, fled her mother. Two kind people take her in, and for the first time in years she feels at home. She's going to keep Nebby safe, no matter what it takes.
Elio "Sun" Ray is finally moving to Alola, after years of hearing his mom talk about how amazing Alolan pokémon are. He can't wait to get his first pokémon and travel throughout the region. But, more importantly, he's getting out of Kanto, and away from the shadow his family's sins have cast over him since childhood.
Lillie and Sun want nothing more than to be free of their families' darkness, but, even under the warmth of Alola's sun, they can't quite escape it alone. Perhaps together, however, they won't merely escape it, but overcome it?
To be clear, this isn't a straight up retelling of either the normal Alola games or the Ultra Alola games. Things will borrow from both, and eventually, be different from both. This doesn't matter too much at first, but it will be very important by the end.
