Summary : After the shitshow of a lifetime that was the whole Zwei
saga(https://forums.thousandroads.net/threads/pokémon-rebirth.2030/), the members of the group returned to their normal lives. However, a mutated strain of a virus from the ancient past which was thought to be extinct suddenly starts spreading like wildfire and most of the world's Pokémon are infected by it. The group bounces back into action as they search for a way to cure the virus and stop the individual behind this.
Chapter 1 - Guess who's back in Unova?
On the S.S Dan, 13th December 2024 2:20 p.m. Near the Castelia City dock.
Daisuke was on the deck of the ship along with multiple other passengers and some of the crew members. He was remembering when he was in a coma eight months and one week before. During the entire duration of his coma, he had a very strange dream where he met multiple Pokémon trainers. Most of them acted pretty similarly to the average trainer but they were a lot nicer and weren't as annoying as the ones he usually encountered on a day to day basis.
When he finally woke up a week later, his mother and siblings showed up to celebrate him waking up from his coma. Strangely, he did not feel weak or cognitively fatigued at all when he awoke. Daisuke chalked it up to his body using the energy stored for his abilities to keep his body and mind in peak condition. However, his ribs were still healing and it took another 2 weeks for them to fully heal.
During this period, he was also frequently visited by his friends Jean and Kakuro, his school's headmaster Joseph and Jaiden. He always looked forward to their visits during this time because the room that he was resting in was only big enough for one patient.
Daisuke's line of thought was then interrupted by the voice of his mother.
Julie: Daisuke! We're going to be reaching the dock in 20 minutes so we need to pack up our things now. Make sure to not forget Dutch as well.
Daisuke: Alright.
Daisuke then headed back towards his room where he was greeted by his pet Umbreon Dutch. Daisuke generated a small tornado to pick up all of his things before using telekinesis to put them back into his luggage bag. After waiting for another while, the ship finally arrived at the docks and they proceeded to get off of the vessel. The four of them and Dutch then went to check into their hotel before going to have lunch.
Julie : Alright children, where are we going to have lunch at?
Daisuke: I... Don't know.
Sister: Come on! You always say that whenever you get asked that question!
Daisuke: Then state everything you know, Jennie.
Jennie: Hey! I'm older so don't tell me that!
Daisuke: Hmph. By your logic, then that would mean that it would be fine if a 50 year old man went to some guy's house, kicked him in the balls, beat up his family and stole his car because he just so happened to be older than the victim and his family.
Julie: Children, we just got here and I don't want to get a headache so PLEASE stop fighting now.
Daisuke: Alright.
Brother: Hey, there seems to be some empty tables in that restaurant over there, why don't we try its food?
Julie: Alright, we're going there but make sure that the food isn't shit this time, Kosuke.
Kosuke: Alright...
The family of four then entered the restaurant and seated themselves on the chairs. Upon sitting down, Daisuke surveyed the area around them and found no signs of enemies anywhere.
Waiter: Hello! What would the four of you like to eat?
The four of them then picked up one menu each and began scanning through them.
Julie: I'll have the Fish and Rice combo.
Kosuke: I'll be having two Kalosian toasts.
Jennie: I'll get the Noodle soup.
Daisuke: I'll get the Chicken chop.
Waiter: Alright then, we'll be serving you in a few minutes!
A few minutes later, their dishes arrived and they began to dig into them.
Daisuke: (Hm.. This Chicken chop is pretty good. It's like I'm at Sunburst Island again.)
Dutch: Breee.... (Hey man, give me some of that!)
Daisuke gave a piece of the Chicken chop to Dutch who appeared to like it.
Dutch: Um-bree!!! (Man this food slaps!)
After ten minutes, the family finished their meals and went to check into a hotel.
At the hotel room:
Daisuke: (It feels so strange to be back here again. The last time I was here, I had to fight that asshole Devon and his Combusken. Because of him, the others and I had to leave the hotel and find another hotel to check into. That one was absolute dogshit, the lights kept flickering, the beds were uncomfortable and the water was always cold. Jean was complaining for an entire hour because of that. Man, I kinda wish that we could go on a non-lethal version of our previous adventure. )
Daisuke then noticed a familiar psychic signature nearby. However, it didn't belong to his mother or either of his siblings. Daisuke exited the room much to the confusion of his mother and siblings.
Julie: Daisuke, where are you going?
Daisuke: I'm going to go stretch my legs for a bit. See you guys later.
Daisuke exited the room and took the elevator to the ground floor where he walked out of the elevator into the hotel lobby where he continued searching for the psychic signature until he found its owner, a girl with dark brown hair that was dyed with several read streaks on her bangs and on the back of her hair. She was talking with two other people. One of them was a girl who had brown hair and one black ring earring on each of her ears. The other one was a guy with short blonde hair. Daisuke proceeded to approach them, his shadow becoming visible to them as their focus shifted from their conversation to Daisuke himself.
???: So I told him- Daisuke! I didn't know you were here!
Daisuke: Yare yare daze. I never thought that I'd see you here, Jaiden.
Jaiden: Daisuke! How have you been? What have you been up to? Sorry for leaving Kanto so abruptly last time! My parents were getting really worried and I didn't want to make them even more worried so I had to take the earliest flight home.
Daisuke: I've been doing alright. How about you?
While Daisuke and Jaiden continued talking, the other two were in shock looking at Daisuke's figure.
Girl: (The heck?! How is this guy this massive!? He looks like he's over 9 feet tall or something!)
Guy: (The shit does this guy eat?...)
Daisuke: And then after that Dutch was acting like he just walked in on someone. You should have seen the look on his face!
Jaiden: Ooh, is Dutch here with you? I can't wait to see him in the flesh!
Daisuke: Well, he is in my hotel room but my mother and siblings are also there and they'd probably go ballistic if I brought you there.
Jaiden: Pfftt. Don't worry. They'd probably be fine with me.
Daisuke: Jaiden. You have red streaks dyed on your hair. My mother would think that you're some sort of delinquent.
Jaiden: Ah crap... I guess I'll have to delay that.
Girl: Jaiden, how do you know *this* guy?
Jaiden: Oh, I'd rather not talk about that. It was a pretty traumatic experience.
Daisuke: I second that.
Kosuke: Daisuke! The hell are you doing with that girl over there?
Daisuke was going to respond to Kosuke but Jaiden beat him to it.
Jaiden: Oh, we just bumped into each other just now.
Kosuke: Alright, but who are you?
Jaiden: Oh, I'm Jaiden! What's your name?
Kosuke: So you're that Jaiden girl Daisuke told us about. I really dig those red streaks on your hair, they make you look like a badass!
Jaiden: Thanks! You can thank my mom for that, she's a really good hairstylist.
Daisuke: Alright then, I'll be taking my leave now. See you later Jaiden.
Jaiden: See you later, Daisuke!
Daisuke and Kosuke then took the elevator back to the 20th floor where their room is located. Both of them were silent throughout the entire trip to the 20th floor. After reaching the 20th floor, the two of them returned to the hotel room where they were greeted by their mother.
Julie: Took you boys long enough. We'll be doing some sightseeing in the evening. In the meantime, get some rest.
Kosuke then plopped into his bed while Daisuke went towards Dutch and began playing with him.
In the woods of an unknown location, 6 months ago :
Several hikers were hiking up a mountain when it started raining heavily.
Hiker 1: We need to find shelter somewhere, the rain is too heavy!
Hiker 2: We could try to go back to the checkpoint.
Hiker 3: No, it's too risky. We could end up slipping and falling into a tree.
Hiker 2: Shit, you're right. My shoes can barely grip the ground and they're made with that specific purpose in mind!
Hiker 1: Sounds like you got scammed.
Hiker 3: Hey guys, let's try going into that structure over there.
Hiker 3 pointed towards an abandoned structure. It is covered in moss and looks extremely worn down.
Hiker 1: I don't know, it looks like it could crumble at any second.
Hiker 2: We don't have a choice. It's either getting sick or seeking shelter in an abandoned structure.
Hiker 1: Fine then, let's go in there.
The three hikers entered the abandoned structure. Hiker 2 then summoned his Alakazam and ordered it to use the move Flash.
Hiker 2: Alakazam, use Flash!
Alakazam lit up the dark interior of the abandoned structure which revealed multiple inscriptions carved onto its walls.
Hiker 3: Huh, these look like ancient inscriptions. Wait, what's that?
Hiker 3 then saw a crystalline looking object in the corner of his eye. He then went towards the room it was in and approached the crystalline object. In it, there seemed to be a Mew inside.
Hiker 3: Hey guys! There's a Mew in this crystal!
Hiker 1: You better not be messing with us right now.
Hiker 3: I'm not lying! There's an actual Mew in here!
Hiker 2 flanked by his Alakazam, hearing the words of Hiker 3 rushed into the room with an Ultra Ball in his right hand. He had always wanted to catch the mythical Pokémon Mew ever since he was a child. Finally after 28 years of waiting, his opportunity had arrived.
Just as Hiker 2 stepped closer towards the crystal, the Mew suddenly opened its eyes before causing the crystal to explode into many sharp shards. Hiker 2's Alakazam was able to protect him but the other hikers were impaled by the shards which killed them.
Hiker 2: Oh god! Please don't hurt me!
Alakazam: (Stay back! Don't come any closer!)
Mew: Heh, why would I spare you? I see that spherical object in your right hand. You were going to use it to capture me weren't you?
Hiker 2: !!!
Mew: Did you forget that Mew possess psychic abilities like that "Alakazam" of yours? Don't worry, I'll make this quick and PAINFUL.
Hiker 2(With overwhelming fear in his voice): Alakazam! Use Hyper Beam!
Alakazam prepared to shoot the Mew with a Hyper Beam but his head was chopped off by the Mew.
Hiker 2: AAAAAhhhhhhhHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Alakazam!!!!
Mew: Now time to deal with you, Human.
Mew used telekinesis to drag the hiker towards him.
Hiker 2 : Please no nonononononono Argghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
