Nate and Rocky were seated a bit apart from the others, as far away from Bean as possible while still in range of the food. Nate only glared at Bean when he asked his question and continued stuffing his face. When he wasn't shooting hostile looks at Bean he was glancing around, trying to pin down the source of the weird noises he kept hearing. They'd been following him around ever since the moon battle, which apparently had just made him permanently crazy or something. Maybe that psychic blast he got through the unown had permanently scrambled his brain. At least Rocky insisted he didn't hear anything, and it wasn't like Nate was going to let on to anyone else that he was possibly hallucinating shit. He'd hoped that whatever it was wouldn't follow him all the way out here, but no such luck, apparently.

By his side, Rocky looked nearly as uncomfortable as he did. Even the prospect of trying out weird combinations of sandwich toppings wasn't cheering him up. The familiar had been sticking to Nate like glue ever since the moon fight, and the marshtomp was only waiting for some blow-up about him leaving and Rocky's promise not to go looking for him. Great fucking times.

Ah, yes. There was nothing better than spending some time in the fresh air, far from the masses of curious folks who wanted to know about how Team Spectrum saved the world… again.

Petram wasn’t around to enjoy that moment. He preferred to help people during the crisis with the floods, wanting to be a Beacon of Hope in all aspects. Icetales couldn’t be any more proud of him and his efforts.

The half daemon was lying down on the grass, sipping some cold mint tea and letting his tails flop casually on the ground. There was still a sensation of increased weight pulling from his own core, but he tried to not focus much on that.

"Oh, it's so nice to see all of you up and out again," Bean said with a cheerful smile. "How are you all feeling?"

“As swell as anyone feels after being strafed by incandescent cosmic projectiles, I daresay,” replied Icetales, placing down his tea to chew on a snow scone. “Though, I wager we all shall get back in our most healthy shape soon enough. Kinesiotherapy does wonders.”

Koa sprawled out in the sun, his back to the team, enjoying the warm sun. It felt so nice out here, under the blue sky, yellow sun. Some reflex made him glance upwards, but there was thankfully, no moon looking above, threatening to destroy the planet. With a sigh, he lay back down. Maybe soon he'd get a sandwich. The others could talk to Bean. (How strange, that he could find no strength to even talk to a legendary...)
He was still tired, and he couldn't muster up the strength to do much.

Besides, this was his first real escape from the infirmary, which he'd hated and spent most of his time desperately trying to distract himself.
Now that he was out here, all he wanted to do was relax. Which was easier said than done. He found himself constantly sitting up and looking around, half expecting some shadow to manifest, or some possessed legendary to suddenly attack. It had been days without any incident, everything was fine.

The half daemon was lying down on the grass, sipping some cold mint tea and letting his tails flop casually on the ground. There was still a sensation of increased weight pulling from his own core, but he tried to not focus much on that.

With a sigh he rolled over and faced the familiar Ninetales. "Hey Icetales," he called. "Got an extra cup?" maybe that would ease his nerves.

"All right," Diyem cut through the chatter, his booming voice a little more forceful. "Enough leading us around." Diyem glared at Bean the moment he started to go for his second sandwich. "Why are we out in the middle of nowhere?"

"Now, it's not nowhere," Bean said with another cheerful smile. "This just happened to be the safest entry point for the arrivals! They're just ahead, you know."

"Is this not where I had summoned Owen at first?" Diyem remarked, glancing around. Over the months, the place had been repaired handily, aside from a few new trees and hills thanks to local Pokemon fixing up the land. "This is... suspicious. And don't think I'm not aware you're a training Overseer. What is this?"

"Yes, it's where you brought Owen! In fact, that may be why it was such an easy summoning location. Ah!" His ears flicked and he glanced back. "There they are! There!"

"There they are," Diyem repeated, standing. The others followed, at least temporarily, to walk over the nearby hill to see what he meant. There was, indeed, a presence there, but... "Answer, now. Who from the Overseers had you summoned here, Zygarde?"

"Well, er, you know how I mentioned some time ago that I'd sent for information from the Overseers about a situation... similar to ours? Well, they finally got back to us--and with quite a delivery! Unfortunately, their power is not properly in sync with Cibus... so they won't be able to fight alongside us very easily, or at all, against The Eternal Blacklight in the Null World.

"But... they can help train you in preparation! Pop also seemed to have some sort of idea on how to make use of that, too, but he's been very hush-hush about it..."

"You found a group that has experience with Blacklight?" Diyem pressed, skeptical. "I thought this was a one-of-a-kind event."

"Yes!" Bean said. "In fact, I found... well. You should see for yourself!"

Diyem growled lowly and stomped forward. From over the hill, however, Diyem heard... another voice. One that stopped him in his tracks. Those with more sensitive ears would hear it, too--chatter and murmuring from a whole squadron of Pokemon. But most striking...

". . . pointless show of it all. I'm tired. I would rather take a nap, but that Zygarde insisted we wait here for--mm. They're here."

That sounded... like Diyem.

"I," Diyem of Team Spectrum said, "hate you, Bean."

"O-oh, I'm sorry..."

And then, just ahead...

Charizard waved cheerfully, first with his hand and then with the corresponding wing.

"Hi!" He thumped his tail on the ground. He looked... surprisingly normal, but the way he spoke, those mannerisms, that gold tinge in his flame...

"My name's Charizard Owen. I'm from a world called Kilo, part of an organization called the Thousand Hearts! It's good to meet you!"

Rehearsed, friendly, professional, perhaps a little childish, even. But he certainly had enthusiasm.

Floating alongside the group, swimming backstrokes through the air and humming blissfully, was a Zoroark. He seemed to be in his own little world, until the group stopped walking, and he suddenly dropped to the ground with a dull thud.

"Oh, we're here! Finally!" he chirped, sitting up and putting on a friendly, jagged grin. "Howdy! I'm Kora! Nice to finally meet you all!"

Some of Team Spectrum could swear his eyes were darting between them... "I was wonderin' if y'all were any strong on the way here, and it looks like I was right~!" the fox snickered.

Kora sprung up off the ground, little black and red sparks dancing excitedly off of him, and floated on his back, relaxed. "I know this ain't a vacation vacation, but I feel like it's gonna be a blast anyway!"

His antics earned an amused glance from the lucario, who capped it off with a shake of her head.

"Don't mind him, he's usually not..." She trailed off, looking thoughtful for a moment. "...Mm, nah. He's always like that."

Her tone was laid-back, as was the way she carried herself, but the more observant among Team Spectrum could catch trained eyes sizing them up.

"Aaanyways," she began, raising a paw in greeting. "Aria, at your service."

An arcanine suddenly made himself known beside Aria, for a tall Pokemon he still managed to go somewhat unnoticed, though carried a sense of pride with him.

With a big grin on his face, the arcanine's tail wagged for a moment as he looked around at his own group, then looked back at Team Spectrum. He was excited to be here. "Geez, I forgot how ridiculous this all felt, but it's so awesome to see everyone again!"

Then he cleared his throat and held up a paw of his own, very similar to how Aria did it, though he wobbled a little and was quick to place it back down. "I'm Ben! And no, that's not short for anything."

On top of Kora's mane laid a Cinccino, who somehow didn't get stuck inside with his long strands of pure white fur. He tended to the one around his neck until Kora suddenly landed. He managed to crawl onto the Zoroark's head to get a better view in front.

He snickered from the sudden weird situation, a Cinccino inside the mane of a Zoroark? "Hi! You must be the team that Bean told us about." The Cinccino carefully jumped down next to Kora and waved. "I'm..." He stopped, and seemed to think about something, and after a bit shook his head. "I'm Chyla! Nice to finally meet all of you."

The cold, icy stare of the Gallade met the new arrivals with a mask of indifference. He could hear and smell the excitement in the air, feel the warmth of the bodies around him, but his face remained perfectly stoic.

Mergo looked at his own hand and clenched it into a fist. A veil of shadows draped around him, and in the blink of an eye, they scattered to black mist, and the hand was a lighter shade of green. He felt his hair grow, his legs narrow, and the dress with a slit down the thigh unfurl from his waist. It was real. It was back.

Should he have just left? No. He'd give it another minute.

"You may call me Mergo," he called to them, folding his arms behind his back and giving them a second, more personal glance. "Well met, ah... Team Spectrum." They were certainly strange individuals. At a passing glance, the name fit.

A Lopunny stood there, gazing around the crowd with a fairly friendly expression, though in his eyes there was a heavy burden and sadness that he bore. It was hard to tell whether that Lopunny was male or female at first glance, and even when he spoke, it was in a voice that was rather high for a male, but rather low for a female.

"Hello, my name is Lucius." The Lopunny waved a paw as radiant light followed with it. "It's nice to meet you all. In any way you need me, I'm here to help."

The mismatched mutt of the group quirked a brow at Mergo's choice of words. They could call him Mergo, like he'd deigned to give them permission. Or was he just covering up how convoluted his full name was? He would go with the latter. "I'm Nero. No intentional rhyming to be found here, though." The silvally chuckled.

"Helping out, huh?" His cheek bolts rotated once in their sockets. "I dunno, they seem plenty strong as it is to me. Though I guess we could do some training. How about a thirty kilometer run to start? Ooh, or a swim in the ocean?" Nero trotted in place, then stopped when he looked at Team Spectrum in better idea. "Ah, scratch that. You lot don't look very water-friendly."

He stared a bit longer, electronics bright pink. Then Nero's eyes and bolts crackled with static and he shook his head. "Whoa, it's like looking in a mirror. A really edgy mirror... where all our dogs turned into cats."

The silvally pointed between Owens. "There's an edgy Owen." He moved to Brisa. "And an edgy Aria." Then Starr. "Edgy Mergo. Or edgier Mergo." Then Koa. "Edgy Ben." Nero stopped at Icetales. "Okay, maybe this Gene is less edgy."

And he finally looked up at Bahamut. "Even their Dark Matter looks edgier! I didn't know that was possible." He chuckled.

The necrozma's head tendrils flared. "I fucking hate this planet. I'm leaving now."

"Aww, c'mon, lighten up, buddy." Nero laughed as he sidestepped a swipe of Bahamut's tail.

An Emolga snickered as he stepped out from behind Owen. "Cripes Nero, isn't pissin everyone off my job?" Danithan rubbed the back of his head as he looked over Team Spectrum. "Well, considering we still have a place to even stand, I'm guessing you lot have been doing a great job of keeping this place alive." His gaze settled on Team Spectrum's Diyem, before he whipped his head back to his team's Diyem.

"... Bleedin 'ell ... I guess this is another dimension or something." Danithan turned back to look at the group, but stopped as he saw his shadow. Two yellow eyes stared back before a crescent of a smile formed. The shadow spoke as it pulled it self out of the ground, going from a silhouette of an Emolga to a three dimensional outline of one. "It's been quite a while and you still keep up that shitty accent, Danthan?"

Danithan narrowed his eyes back at it. "I still you're still an ass, Pisică."

Pisică smiled and crossed its arms. "And yet we are one in the same."

Danithan shrugged. "I'm coming to terms with it." Pisică smiled and nodded, but said nothing more. The Emolga turned back toward Team Spectrum and gestured with his arm towards Pisică.

"I'm pretty sure of one ya has had to deal with a shadowy prick like 'em. Names Danithan by the way."

From the back, walked a lone bisharp, their body polished, face as regal as a monarch. Her brightly coloured cape flowed behind her, blowing in the wind. Taking her place by Lucius, she bowed.

"Konichiwa," She put a hand over her heart, her other clutching the hilt of her sheathed sword, "I am Geneveive, Queen of the Vale."

She raised herself and gave a razor sharp grin.

"It is wonderful to see you all again..." She sniffed.

A strange-looking Dragonair floated next to the others, elegantly weaving her serpentine body and ribbons just above the ground.

With a beat her large, feathery wings, she came to a halt. She spent a good minute studying the new group up and down as the others presented themselves.

"Isn't this quite the déjà-vu?" The Dragonair smiled, then bowed her head. "My name is Alice. I heard you needed our hel—" Her face dropped. "Is that another Owen?"

It was true. The flavor of the breeze, that deep swirling churn in his stomach… this was where the Blacklight had happened. Where it had started. And it was within him again, broken and corroded—his own. He swallowed, suppressing it for now.

Each Spectrum fighter would receive a glance from the Serperior in some order, quickly and arbitrarily moving onto the next. Lots of fire types, ice types, a couple electric types… capable fighters, were they? Nero’s takes sent his eyes rolling; there was so little to be gleaned at face value of their true selves, if only that they radiated an air of competence from top to bottom. Clear, evident strength that explained how they’d made it this far. Mmm. And yet, something was missing…

“My name is Sage,” he said without extending the ‘s’ like a snake probably should. He slithered with purpose around Alice to view their counterparts from a new, taller angle. “We’re called the Miracle Matters. I believe our teams have a lot in common.”

Having failed to hit Nero, Bahamut rose from the ground. "Great. I was hoping parallel dimensions weren't a thing and the whole 'two Cibus' nonsense was just an exception. Another miserable bullet point on the list of things wrong."

"Oh, hey, you guys have two of this planet, too?" Nero's tail wagged. "Nifty! Wonder what else is the same and different." He looked around the field.

Bahamut glared at Bean with all the malice he could muster. "Now I get to sit on the idea that there are potentially an infinite number of happy Bahamuts out there and I'm not one of them. So, thanks for that."

He silently floated away, willing a meteor to fall on Bean... even if that wouldn't actually get rid of him.

Owen and Owen looked at one another from across the field, sizing each other up with great interest. "Wow!" they both said, one voice significantly deeper than the other.

This Owen looked much more normal. He seemed happy to have legs again, for some reason, but it seemed that he had not gone through the same Blacklight transformations that Team Spectrum's had. There was a more cheerful light in his eyes that Team Spectrum's Owen immediately recognized as a younger, earlier self. He smiled at that; so, maybe he, too, could get some of that mental youth back.

"Didn't think I'd meet myself!" Team Spectrum's said.

"You're... wow! You feel like an actual Dragon!" Miracle Matter's Owen bobbed his head, but there was a glimmer of jealousy in the tone.

"Aw, hey, don't worry. Dragons are cool and all, but we have the egg group anyway."

"E-exactly!"

"Oh no, there are two of them," both Diyems muttered, but then spotted each other. Miracle Matter's Diyem looked much the same, emerging from over the hill with the same orange scales and dour look. "...What is that?" Miracle's said.

"What?" Spectrum's growled.

Miracle pointed at the conjured warhammer that had been formed in self-defense.

"What? This is my weapon. I conjured it from pure Shadows."

"That's ridiculous. You simply conjure it to blast. What purpose does making it into a weapon serve?"

"I--you cannot be serious. What do you do?"

"Blast them."

"How do you maintain it?"

"I blast them more. You look absurd."

"It is not absurd," Spectrum's snarled. "Eien said it was cute."

Miracle's hesitated. "...Mm. Fine."

Cynthian's eyes glimmered in excitement at the new arrivals, and caught the names of each and everyone one of their introductions.

"Wow! You guys fought the blacklight in another Cibus too?! How's that even possible! And that's Owen!" she then pointed at the one on their side, "And he's Owen too! There's even two Diyem's! How's any of this even possible!"

Cynthian squinted at the group, and let out a somewhat disappointed grunt at the absence of another version of herself on Miracle Matters.

"It's nice to meet you all, fellow heroes! I look forward to hearing what stories you have to tell too!" Cynthian finished with a bright smile.

Ivy on the other hand stayed put where she was, and only had mild suspicion in her eyes. She otherwise remained quiet.
