Hey folks!

I'm BlizzardBricks, but I usually just go by Blizzard. I've been a fan of Pokémon ever since I saw the TV commercials for Diamond and Pearl. My interest in the series has waxed and waned over the years, but I fell back in love with the series after I started to read Pokémon fanfics following the release of Gen 8 in 2019. I'm usually active in a couple of Discord servers created by fanfic authors, and that's how I got into writing.

The folks there inspired me to create a Pokémon OC of my own, which then led me down a whole rabbit hole. I started thinking of my OC's backstory, and found I enjoyed the creative process. Now, I'm over 100k words into my story. I've been posting on AO3 for a few months now, but wanted to bring it here as well after I found out about TR. Plus, I get to see what forums are like as well!
Hey, Blizzard! A very warm welcome to Thousand Roads! Diamond and Pearl are very nostalgic games for me, since those were the first games I played as part of the Pokemon community.

Making OCs is fun! Especially when they start to reveal their backstory to you, and you wind up with more words than you ever expected!

Forums are the absolute best. They are my preferred way of interacting with others online, so I'm glad you're giving them a chance. Never hesitate to ask questions about anything around here.
Well howdy, I didn't think forums were much of a thing outside of RP still, so it's a rather nice surprise to find myself here at another. Not sure if anyone else here remembers PKMN net, but I was over there too. It's like a time capsule of my internet presence in a handy time capsule full of cringe, really.

Honestly, I kinda suck at introductions. Call me Sans. I've been writing fanfic since as early as 2005. I'm almost three decades old as of writing this, or well, a scarce few months away. However, I've deleted a lot of my oldest work. Some of it was just... eaten. My current fics are in my signature, on an old archival account, or hidden away on my computer. Or lost due to various computer breaks and such. I do various works and I'm currently working on a playthrough fic set in a fangame and about five other projects, but the 'tism, my perfectionism, and my general distractability (definitely a thing and probably adhd/add combined type like my sister just got diagnosed with) contributes to a lot of NOTHING.

When I do things instead of doing nothing, when it comes to writing, I generally gravitate to darker and more dramatic/angsty themes, I think, and have been told a lot of my works can be pretty introspective. My currently most popular work is in the kpop demon hunters category, which is swell and all, but should've been a sign I should probably write in my more familiar fandoms again too! I really want to write a journey/adventure fic. I want to write a real longfic and actually get into it.

When it comes to my works, they're original character heavy, and I'm currently seeing about writing about the character who I've themed my current profile around, Jess. I've had her since December 16th, 2005 (well, dreamt her up over that week) which is why her birthday's been set to her general creation date. Before I was ready to come out as agender, I tended to hide behind this character as a persona, so she's very special to me.

More about me, hmm.

My favourite colour is sky blue. I am a huge enjoyer of energy drinks, something I only discovered in my 20's. They'll never overthrow my love for Ribena. The Light kind of Ribena tastes more like Ribena than the original currently does though, weirdly.

I liked ceramics for a while when I tried it, but I can't get out much so I can't really do it any more. I do a bit of everything when I'm online. Or well, maybe that's a lie because there are so many things and a lot of those I can't do, but I do like trying a bit of everything.

I'm the worst person to ask for favourites because I like SO many things. I can tell you all about Shiny Umbreon being amazing, but I also love normal Espeon. I can tell you I loved the Gen 2 games but enjoyed HGSS even more, and Kalos was beautifully designed (even if the games were rushed and had a lot cut out). I adore bulbasaur. My first level 100 was a MEGANIUM in Gold who ended up with Cut, Strength, Rock Smash and Flash as his entire moveset because I refused to give in to the move deleter/relearner and I think, by that point, I just straight up had no other option. I vaguely also remember the onix I used as revive fodder. Fun times!

I'm also disabled (physically and neurologically) so that will probably come up in my postings a lot.

I think my nature would probably be Hasty (love sweet foods, hate sour foods, but also I'm a bit hasty) and my type would probably end up being Ghost/Psychic I guess.
Welcome to the forums, Sans! I completely get you when you talk about having so many projects, and yet the mind just won't work on them. Especially about how easy it is to get distracted. I'm super behind on one of my own projects, and yet there's always something else to capture the attention.

Jess sounds wonderful and fascinating as an OC. I'm looking forward to any chances to learn more about her or any other OCs you have. And I don't mind the angst heavy stories! That's also what I write, and I adore character introspective stories, so I am excited to see what you have to share! (I checked your AO3 profile and saw Teen Titans!)

Your Meganium's moveset is absolutely perfect.
