"That doesn't really answer my question, because I don't know what a galar is," Nero said, head tilted. "And, well, I guess I can let you go... but you look like you're in pain and could use some help. It wouldn't be right to just have your run off. You'll just injure your flippers even more."

 

[IFBench]

"I'm always in pain. And the asshole who keeps dragging me everywhere against my will deserves it," the creature said, prompting its tail to slap against its head again.

 

[Ambyssin]

Nero's brow furrowed for a second. Did its bottom half just act independently of the head?

He stared straight ahead blankly. "Oh my god you're two spirits stuck together, aren't you?"

The silvally's cheek bolts vibrated a bit. "Hello? Can anyone else hear me in there? You're not the only one who has to experience these kinds of problems."

 

[IFBench]

"Zacian, finally someone who can hear me!"

"Isn't it obvious?" the head said.

 

[Ambyssin]

"No, it's not obvious," Nero said. "Most people don't have ESP to assist them." He slowly released his hold on the creature. "But not everyone is a bunch of spirits wrapped together like we clearly are."

 

[IFBench]

As Arctozolt returned to the ground, the head turned around as if the whole creature was about to walk away, yet the bottom half didn't move.

"You're humans, too?"

"Shush, just get back to walking!"

"I'm not leaving until I hear their answer."

 

[Ambyssin]

"Uh, no." Nero paused and clicked his tongue. "At least, I don't think there are any." He looked at his chest. "Hey, if any of you used to be human, speak now or forever hold your peace."

Silence followed. Nero's head crest drooped. "But my friend Shane used to be human. He's my rescue team's leader." His tail wagged. "I can call for him if you want to talk."

 

[IFBench]

"What region is he from? If he's from Galar-"

"Are you STILL worried about that?! We have far more important stuff to worry about."

The tail attempted to slap the head once more, only for the head to bite it mid-swing.

"AUGH! Why'd you do that if you'll feel it too?!"

"You'll feel it more!" it said, before the head turned back around. "Call him over if you want, but don't tell ANYONE else about us."

 

[Ambyssin]

"He's not from Galar. Pokémon are fictional in the human world he's from," Nero said, which he was sure would just make things more awkward, so the moment they had asked him, he decided against it.

"Are you trying to find a way home or something? Is that why you're so upset? Aside from the whole 'sharing a body thing,' of course."

 

[IFBench]

Suddenly, it began running away. The head cried out, "Wait, STO-"

But before it could finish, it had disappeared into the fog.

 

[Ambyssin]

Nero sighed. "Well, that was... something. Guess the wild 'mons here aren't that friendly."

His head crest drooped and he turned to head back in the direction of town.
