Summary:

Ash Ketchum, the Chosen One, really cried at the Team Rocket trio departing from the Pokémon world forever. However, Ash and his friends would never believe that Jessie, James, and Meowth had actually survived and would continue to play a big role in their journey.

Notes:

Note1 - (Scroll down to “A New Ending” if you want to skip the movie summary.)
Note2 - A 2023 project of mine with precisely 2000 words, also one of my few fictions to have a clear moral - that recognition often arises from even the most unexpected actions and sources.

••• The Movie •••

Disturb not the harmony of fire, ice, or lightning, lest these titans wreak destruction upon the world in which they clash. Though the water's great guardian shall arise to quell the fighting, alone its song will fail, lest the earth shall turn to ash. O Chosen One, into thine hands, bring together all three. Their treasures combined tame the Beast of the Sea." - Shamouti Prophecy.

During their journey in the Orange Islands, Ash, Misty, and Tracey found themselves caught up in a dangerous situation when they discovered that Lawrence III, a Pokémon collector, was disturbing the natural peace with his nefarious intentions to capture four Pokémon, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Lugia.

Ash was revealed to be the Chosen One from the Shamouti Prophecy, a legend that spoke of a hero who could restore the balance of the elements by bringing together three treasures, taming the Beast of the Sea. To save the region from destruction, Ash and his friends set out to retrieve the three treasures, the Red, Yellow, and Blue Balls. Meanwhile, Melody accompanied the Chosen One in his quest, her name saying it all.

Despite the obstacles they faced, mostly coming from Lawrence, Ash and his friends were successful in retrieving the Red and Yellow Balls. The three legendary birds were soon reunited, yet without the Blue Ball, leading to an aerial battle. Each new strike increased the damage across the region, from freezing the ocean to installing fear among humans and Pokémon.

The fate of the region rested upon Ash’s hands. With Lugia's help, he began making his way to the last needed treasure, the Blue Ball. However, the three battling Pokémon halted his advance, forcing him to stand still in resignation.

As the situation grew dire, Jessie, James, and Meowth, longtime adversaries of Ash and his friends, appeared from nowhere and, putting their personal differences aside, helped Ash and Lugia take the Blue Ball. An act of self-sacrifice on their part allowed him to unite the Three Treasures and wait for Melody’s flute to stop the legendary birds’ fight.

With the balance of the elements restored, everyone in the region, including waves and waves of Pokémon, celebrated their newfound harmony. The legend of the Chosen One had come to life, and Ash had proven himself to be a true hero.

••• A New Ending •••

The situation was bittersweet. Although Ash saved the entire region and its inhabitants, it came at a great cost. He witnessed Jessie, James, and Meowth sacrificing their lives to help him save not just the Orange Islands, but pretty much everyone within. Despite their heroic act, no one had seen or acknowledged the trio’s sacrifice, an ignorance that weighed heavily upon him.

The trainer cried at the loss of his adversaries turned allies, who put aside their own interests to save the world. Yet, everyone else ignored them. What would become of Jessie, James, and Meowth if things remained like that? No, Ash could not let their memories fade away! Not like dust in the wind!

Ash and Pikachu sat on a mound overlooking the ocean, with Misty and Tracey watching from behind. Each of them stood silently, gazing out at the scene before them. During this solemn moment, Misty held her hand to her chest, while Tracey opened his mouth, leaving it open without a word. They had to reach out to Ash, but they struggled to find the right words.

...

"I don't get why we're just standing here!" Misty broke the silence. "We need to keep moving if we're going to find the next gym."

Tracey nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Ash, we should get going. We can't stay in one place forever!" He added.

Ash didn't respond at first. A few seconds later, he turned to his friends. "I know, but I just can't leave yet." He stated.

Misty and Tracey exchanged confused looks. "What do you mean?" She asked.

Ash gestured to the hill close to the ocean, where a humble and small memorial had been erected by him. "This is where Team Rocket sacrificed themselves to save the world. They’re the real heroes, when I couldn’t reach-"

A soft nudge on his thigh. “Pikapi, ka-chu,” Pikachu’s voice came right after.

Ash nodded. “Yeah, sorry for doing that again.” He then petted Pikachu’s head.

Misty and Tracey leaned forward. "Wait, do you really mean..?” Tracey asked.

Ash looked at them with tears in his eyes. "I know, they’re Team Rocket, but they were willing to put everything on the line to save the world.” He replied. “I can't simply ignore that!"

Misty and Tracey remained quiet for a moment, taking in Ash's words. "Okay, we'll stay a little longer," Misty conceded.

Tracey nodded in agreement, "Yeah, we can take a moment to rest a bit before we continue with our journeys.”

“Pika chu.” Ash’s Pikachu chimed in with a saddened tone.

Ash smiled at his friends. “Thank you, guys. That means a lot to me.” He voiced his gratitude.

Alongside each other, they stood in silence, with Misty and Tracey watching Ash kneel and place his hands on the memorial. Though he couldn't change the past, he at least honored the sacrifices that had been made towards a brighter future.

That day would surely be unforgettable.

Engulfed in their reflection, they suddenly heard groans coming from the other side of the hill, near the ocean. Standing up, Ash, Pikachu, Misty, and Tracey made their way towards the noise, eyeing their surroundings.

As they reached the edge, they saw two people and a Meowth climbing up the cliff, their bodies covered in seaweed. As they got closer, Ash and his friends gasped; the trio was none other than Jessie, James, and Meowth from Team Rocket. The three of them looked battered and bruised, their clothes torn and soaked from the ocean water.

“Team Rocket?!” Ash exclaimed as he dropped his arms towards the trio. “Here, take my hand!”

Despite initially freezing in place, his friends also rushed to help Team Rocket up the rest of the way, putting a strong effort into the rescue.

Right as each of them placed their feet on solid ground, Ash released and remained panting for a while, his eyes still wide open. "Jessie, James, and Meowth?! What are you guys doing here?" he finally managed to say.

The trio stood up, frantically removing the seaweeds by hand. Afterwards, they looked at Ash and his friends, straightening their postures with a grunt each. "Well, well, well. Look who it is, the twerps." Jessie sneered, shooting a smirk at them.

"We just saved the world, but I guess you missed that part." James spoke up.

Misty pointed a shaky finger at them. “Wait, what? You guys really saved the world?" She questioned.

"Yeah, they helped me save us all.” Ash answered, gesturing with his hand. “I can't believe you guys did that!"

"Don't get too emotional, twerps.” Jessie retorted, crossing her arms. “We are still from Team Rocket and we want to keep it that way."

Meowth nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we wanna keep bad, get it?" He explained.

James’s eye glinted. "But deep down, we wouldn't mind being recognized as heroes.” He admitted.

Ash kept his mouth wide open. "You guys really risked your lives for us?" He had to ask them again.

"Don't get too mushy on us, A-Ash." Jessie dismissed, rolling her eyes.

"Yeah, we just did what we had to do." James chimed in.

Beneath her tough face, Misty smiled. "Thank you guys for saving us, I guess. We owe you our lives." She said.

"Hey, look! We may be on different sides, but we're all friends here." Tracey exclaimed.

Jessie shook her head. "Frenemies, you mean." She corrected.

"Yeah, frenemies sounds about right." James added with a chuckle.

"And we wouldn't have it any other way." Meowth finished, grinning.

"Piika-piikachu, pika-pikachu-chu!" Pikachu said excitedly, its tail wagging happily. Even though it couldn't understand every word they were saying, Pikachu could sense the camaraderie and friendship between his friends, and it treated this as a special moment that it would always remember.

Despite their differences, the group felt a sense of camaraderie as they spent the evening together. Jessie, James, and Meowth enjoyed the company of their former foes, even dropping their usual Team Rocket antics and joining in on the fun.

As the night wore on, Ash and his friends realized Team Rocket would eventually go back to their old ways, but were still grateful for their unlikely allies. They made a silent vow to always remember the heroic actions of their frenemies and to never underestimate the power of friendship, no matter what side of the battle they were on.

“So what are you guys going to do now that you've saved the world?” Ash asked.

“Same thing we always do, twerp. We're going to catch Pikachu.” Jessie replied with a smirk, her eyes glinting mischievously.

Pikachu frowned at the mention, although it didn’t do more than a silent chirp.

“Yeah, old habits die hard.” James added with a chuckle.

“But don't worry, we ain’t gonna be trouble anytime soon.” Meowth joined in.

“Yeah, we'll believe that when we see it.” Misty voiced her irony.

Tracey laughed. “You guys are our frenemies after all, right?” He asked.

“That's right.” Jessie acknowledged. “We may be on opposite sides, but no one said we can’t be your allies.”

“And we kind of appreciate you guys recognizing our heroic actions.” James added with a nod.

“Yeah, we might even save the world again someday!” Meowth suggested.

Ash laughed. “Let's hope it doesn't come to that, but we'll be ready if it does.” He affirmed.

“And we'll always have your backs.” Misty supported, smiling.

Tracey nodded in agreement. “We're all in this together.” He finished.

As the Sun disappeared in the horizon, Ash, Pikachu, Misty, and Tracey bid farewell to their frenemies. Though they could already see Team Rocket resorting to their old antics, they couldn't help but feel grateful for the time they had spent together and the unexpected alliance they had formed.

As Jessie, James, and Meowth moved away into the distance, Ash turned to his friends, a smile on his face. "You know what? I think we just witnessed a new side of Team Rocket!" he exclaimed.

“They may be bumbling villains most of the time, but deep down, they’re really not that bad." Misty agreed, her eye glinting.

"And it just goes to show that sometimes, the most unlikely of allies can come together to save the day!" Tracey added.

As they made their way back to their Pokémon journey, Ash and his friends felt a sense of hope. If Team Rocket could put aside their differences and save the world, then who knew what other unexpected alliances might arise in the future.

As Ash, his Pikachu, Misty, and Tracey went along with their own journey, a Slowking emerged from the ocean, its eyes following their every move. With a gentle smile on its face, the Slowking faced the audience, each person watching the movie.

"You see, these humans and Pokemon may have different goals and desires, but in the end, they are all connected by something greater than themselves. The bond between Jessie, James, and Meowth is one of rivalry and competition, yet it's also rooted in a deep friendship that cannot be broken by their constant defeats. And then there's the Chosen One, Ash, whose path crosses with Team Rocket time and time again. He may be their enemy on the surface, but deep down, he also understands and respects their journey."

The Slowking paused, its eyes twinkling with wisdom.

"Perhaps this is what makes their story so compelling - the way they constantly challenge and surprise each other, and the way their paths always seem to intersect. Who knows what adventures and obstacles they will face in the future, but one thing is for sure - the bond between them will never be broken."

A “Pokémon 2000” new ending - Beyond Team Rocket’s Sacrifice

Hello, Fanfictioner144, I am here in the first review of our recent exchange!

Checking out the title, I see this provides an alternative ending to the 2nd Pokemon movie. Knowing how you enjoy changing things for how the Rocket Trio are, I'm looking forward to seeing what you have cooked up!

Summary:

Ash Ketchum, the Chosen One, really cried at the Team Rocket trio departing from the Pokémon world forever. However, Ash and his friends would never believe that Jessie, James, and Meowth had actually survived and would continue to play a big role in their journey.

Honestly, I've always found it easy to sympathize with the trio. Each has their own backstory that makes kind of hard to hate them. Also, they fail so much so often, that it's almost like they are there to help train Ash and help him grow as a trainer. Even if it's not intentional, that's the effect they end up having.

Notes:

Note1 - (Scroll down to “A New Ending” if you want to skip the movie summary.)
I'll check out the summary. A reminder couldn't hurt.

Note2 - A 2023 project of mine with precisely 2000 words, also one of my few fictions to have a clear moral - that recognition often arises from even the most unexpected actions and sources.
Interesting. I'll read it with that in mind, then!

A useful summary. Thank you.

Also, you might notice I am removing the extra space between your paragraphs. I'm just doing that to condense the space of my review and is not my way of telling you to remove it. You can totally keep them with more space if you prefer.

Yeah, it really should be a big deal that they did that. I agree with your premise here.

The trainer cried at the loss of his adversaries turned allies, who had put aside their own interests to save the world., and Yet everyone else ignored them. minded their own business without any recognition for them. What would become of Jessie, James, and Meowth if things remained like that? It was up to Ash had to at least keep a strong their memory of them strong!
Regarding writing:
Ok, so in this paragraph, I did some editing above. Let me explain:

Bold = things that I added that were not in there originally
Strikethrough = things i recommend removing

I use bold and strikethough any time I make suggestions to the writing to help you improve it. Suggestions are always optional and sometimes I may offer a suggestion that just isn't good or isn't what you are looking for. There is no need to feel obligated to implement my suggestions, but I would like to know if you find them helpful.

The first sentence was much too long. I've learned one can often make new sentences in places where the word 'and' is used, so I came up with a way to edit it.

Another thing that you can do is remove extra words or change wording around to make your paragraphs shorter. As long as you aren't taking away from the meaning, you can improve your writing that way.

Often when you use the word 'had' it ends up just being extra and if you remove it, the sentence actually flows better. See my example above in the first line where I cut it out. Read it with it and without it. Do you see what I mean?

Anyway, future editing suggestions from me will be much easier for me to do since I've now explained how I do them.

Regarding plot:
It's nice to see Ash caring to the extent that he would try to keep the memory of them alive.

The teenager and his Pikachu sat above on a mound edging overlooking the ocean,
Some fixes/suggestions.

with Misty and Tracey watching from behind. Each of them stood silently, gazing out at the landscape scene before them.
I thought landscape might be confusing since it seems like mostly what they are looking at is the ocean. Scene makes it potentially about the land right in front of them where Ash is, Ash and Pikachu, and the ocean.

During this solemn moment, Misty and Tracey tilted their heads and sighed; they had been traveling with Ash for months to know that, when he remained this quiet, there was always something on his mind.
Hmm so they both have the same reaction? I suppose that could be the case, but if you have not considered it before, you could give each their own unique reaction suited to their personalities.

Examples:
Misty held her hands to her chest looking out to Ash
Tracey balled his fists at his side hoping for something to say to Ash, but not finding the words.

I'm not saying those examples are necessarily in-character, but you get the idea. Feel free to leave them as they are if you like.

"I don't get why we're just standing here!" Misty exclaimed, breaking the silence. "We need to keep moving if we're going to find the next gym."

Tracey nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Ash, we should get going. We can't stay in one place forever!" He added.
Huh. They seem completely oblivious to what is on Ash's mind. I guess he is just going to have to tell them.

Ash didn't respond at first. A few seconds later, he turned to his friends. "I know, but I just can't leave yet." He stated.

Misty and Tracey exchanged confused looks. "What do you mean?" She asked.

Ash gestured to the nearby hill cose
Should be 'close' not 'cose'.

But good job with spelling so far! It seems almost entirely free from spelling errors!

to the ocean, where a humble and small memorial had been erected by him. "This is where Team Rocket sacrificed themselves to save the world. I can't leave like this, without paying my respects!"
One could argue that the small memorial served the purpose of respects already. Maybe he could say something like this instead:

"This is where Team Rocket sacrificed themselves to save the world... They're the real heroes here... they're the ones who actually gave up their lives. It just wouldn't be right to leave so soon... They may have attacked us in the past and tried to steal Pikachu, but we are alive right now because of them."

Feel free to use it, change it, or ignore it as with any suggestion I provide.

Misty and Tracey leaned forward. "Wait, do you really mean..?” Tracey asked.

Ash looked at them with a mix of sadness and anxiety. "I know this sounds crazy, but they were willing to put everything on the line to save the world.” He replied. “I can't simply ignore that!"
Crazy? I'm not sure it sounds crazy at this point. They saved them, after all and as far as they know, the Trio DID die for them!

Also, I'm not sure 'anxiety' is the word you are looking for here. Anguish maybe? But that would be similar to sadness. Maybe 'frustration' would work a little better?

Misty and Tracey remained quiet for a moment, taking in Ash's words. They frowned slightly, although they relaxed their bodies after looking into his determined eyes.
Misty and Tracey take the same actions at the same times a lot, it seems. I get that it's probably easier to write that way, but it seems a little odd.

But it sounds like they are listening and agreeing with them. That's good because I want to see the Trio get some recognition!

"Okay, we'll stay a little longer," Misty conceded.

Tracey nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we can take a moment to rest a bit before we continue with our journeys.” He said.
Neither of them want to admit Ash had a point? Misty sounds like the only reason she is agreeing to it is because Ash wants to stay longer rather than because she agrees with him. Tracey seems to need the excuse of it being for rest to justify spending extra time there on behalf of the Trio...

“Pika chu.” Ash’s Pikachu chimed in with a saddened tone.
At least Pikachu seems to care...

Ash smiled at his friends. “Thank you, guys. That means a lot to me.” He voiced his gratitude.
Don't worry, Ash. Tracy isn't staying for you. He just thinks it's ok to get some rest. Misty might be staying just for you though... Ash is so blind when it comes to girls... *sigh*

Alongside each other, they stood in silence, with Misty and Tracey watching Ash pay respects to those who had given their lives for the greater good.
In what way is Ash paying his respects? Is he kneeling down and placing a hand on the memorial?

Though he couldn't change the past, he at least honored the sacrifices that had been made towards a brighter future.

That day would surely be unforgettable.

Engulfed within their reflection, they suddenly heard groans coming from the other side of the hill, near the ocean. Standing up, Ash, Pikachu, Misty, and Tracey made their way towards the noise, eyeing their surroundings.
Minor writing suggestion above.

I love the way you used engulfed and reflection.

As they reached the edge, they saw two people and a Meowth climbing up the cliff. At first, they didn't recognize the trio, but as they got closer, they realized with a gasp that this trio was none other than Jessie, James, and Meowth from Team Rocket. The three of them looked battered and bruised, their clothes torn and soaked from the ocean water.
Maybe add they had seaweed hanging off them or something too? It seems unlikely they would not recognize them after all their encounters with them so far.

What are they doing there? Probably trying not to completely die in the ocean, I would assume. :copyka:

Jessie shot a smirk at them. "Well, well, well. Look who it is, the twerps." She sneered.
Somehow when she says that in this context, it makes her look pretty cool! :veelove:

"We just saved the world, but I guess you missed that part." James spoke up.
He ain't wrong! :mewlulz:

Misty pointed a shaky finger at them. “Wait, what? You guys really saved the world?" She questioned.
What? Misty wasn't aware already?

"Yeah, they helped me saved us all.” Ash answered, gesturing with his hand. “I can't believe you guys did that!"
should be 'save' not 'saved'

"Don't get too emotional, twerps.” Jessie retorted, crossing her arms. “We are still from Team Rocket and we want to keep it that way."

Meowth nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we wanna keep bad, get it?" He explained.
I love the way you write the Trio. It's so in-character for them. Also, since I've watched the anime, every line of dialogue in your fic comes with automatic in-character voice acting in my head. It's pretty cool!

James’s eye glinted. "But deep down, we wouldn't mind being recognized as heroes.” He admitted.

Ash kept his mouth wide open. "You guys really risked your lives for us?" He had to ask them again.
Ash, you literally watched them do it and set up a memorial for them because of it. Why are you asking them? :unquag:

"Don't get too mushy on us, A-Ash." Jessie dismissed, rolling her eyes.
Wow she called him Ash! That's basically unheard of for her! :wowzard:

Don't get any funny idea's, Jessie. Ash belongs to Misty! :unquag:

"Yeah, we just did what we had to do." James chimed in.

Beneath her tough face, Misty smiled. "Thank you guys for saving us, I guess. We owe you our lives." She said.

"Hey, look! We may be on different sides, but we're all friends here." Tracey exclaimed.
Shut up, Tracey not Brock. No one asked you. :mewlulz:

Jessie shook her head. "Frenemies, you mean." She corrected.

"Yeah, frenemies sounds about right." James added with a chuckle.

"And we wouldn't have it any other way." Meowth finished, grinning.
Well that was adorable compared to their usual banter.

Yeah! Team rocket IS capable of being more than what they usually are.

As the night wore on, Ash and his friends realized figured out that Jessie, James, and Meowth Team Rocket would eventually go back to their old ways,
Small suggestion to trim word count.

Also, there is no need to always say each of their names every time you refer to them. You can switch it up with 'Team Rocket' some times too. That will help it be less repetitive.

but they couldn't help but feel were still grateful for their unlikely allies.
Another bit of suggestion.

I need a way of describing editing suggestions with less works. I think I'll just say "Edit suggestion" going forward.

They made a silent vow to always remember the heroic actions of their frenemies and to never underestimate the power of friendship, no matter what side of the battle they were on.
In that case, maybe you should consider NOT launching them several miles into the air before you shrug and walk away as they somehow avoid not dying from the fall for the 120th time in a row? 😅

Jessie, James, and Meowth, What are you guys going to do now that you've saved the world?” Ash still asked the trio. , just to make sure.
Edit suggestion

“Same thing we always do, twerp. We're going to catch Pikachu.” Jessie replied with a smirk, her eyes glinting mischievously.
They're Jessie, James, Meowth. They're Jessie, James, Meowth. One Is a mon, the others are nuts! They want your Pi-ka-chu. They want your Pi-ka-chu. They're Jessie, They're Jessie, James, Meow-ow-ow-ow-th...

Pikachu frowned at the mention, although it didn’t do more than stop wiggling.
Pikachu was wiggling up until this point? Why did we not hear about Pikachu wiggling until now when Pikachu stopped wiggling?

“Yeah, old habits die hard.” James added with a chuckle.

“But don't worry, we ain’t gonna be trouble anytime soon.” Meowth joined in.

“Yeah, we'll believe that when we see it.” Misty voiced her irony.

Tracey laughed. “You guys are our frenemies after all, right?” He asked.
Shut up, not Brock. No one asked you! :unquag:

“That's right.” Jessie acknowledged. “We may be on opposite sides, but no one said we can’t be your allies.”

“And we kind of appreciate you guys recognizing our heroic actions.” James added with a nod.

“Yeah, we might even save the world again someday!” Meowth suggested.

Ash laughed. “Let's hope it doesn't come to that, but we'll be ready if it does.” He affirmed.

“And we'll always have your backs.” Misty supported, smiling.
Why does Misty now care so much? Is it because they saved Ash? It would be cute if that were the case.

Tracey nodded in agreement. “We're all in this together.” He finished.
Excuse me, not Brock, who told you it was ok to speak? 🧐

As the Sun disappeared in the horizon, Ash, Pikachu, Misty, and Tracey bid farewell to their frenemies, Jessie, James, and Meowth. Though they could already see Team Rocket resorting to their old antics, they couldn't help but feel grateful for the time they had spent together and the unexpected alliance they had formed.
Edit suggestion.

Such a shame that they go right back to trying to steal Pikachu again, even if it is the next time they see them.

As Jessie, James, and Meowth moved away into the distance, Ash turned to his friends, a smile on his face. "You know what? I think we just witnessed a new side of Team Rocket!" he exclaimed.

“They may be bumbling villains most of the time, but deep down, they've got a heart of gold." Misty agreed, her eye glinting.
A heart of gold? Seems a bit too much praise now that they are confirmed to be alive and that they will try to steal Pikachu again. How about: "but deep down, they're really not that bad."

"And it just goes to show that sometimes, the most unlikely of allies can come together to save the day!" Tracey added.
Ok, not Brock. That's the last straw... It's bad enough that you are a perpetual 3rd wheel for Ash and Misty but you even have the gall to be not Brock and speak, of all things!

This time you will be spending an entire week in the dungeon.

Also, from here on out, you will simply be referred to as, 'the creature', for you are unworthy to refer to Brock even as not Brock. The creature will now refrain from its incessant speaking. It is to be silent and scrub the floors of the dungeon for prisoners more honorable than itself. :mewlulz:

As they made their way back to their Pokémon journey, Ash and his friends felt a sense of hope. If Team Rocket could put aside their differences and save the world, then who knew what other unexpected alliances might arise in the future.
I recommend ending this last sentence with "?" instead of "."

As Ash, his Pikachu, Misty, and Tracey not Brock went along with their own journey, a Slowking emerged from the ocean, its eyes following their every move. With a gentle smile on its face, the Slowking faced the audience, each person watching the movie.
I do believe this is the first time ever in a review that I made an edit purely for humor! :mewlulz:

This section was very interesting! You esentially used Slowking as a way of letting you directly talk to your readers! That is so unique and cool!

Closing thoughts:
For the most part, what you have here seems to be a better way of ending the movie than the way it actually ended. The hard part about this is giving them recognition and comradierie without it being so much that the reader thinks it's unrealistic for Team Rocket to keep trying to steal Pikachu afterwards. I wonder if you would enjoy writing a time travel story where one or all three of them travel back in time with a chance to live their lives over again? I feel like the narrative of the cannon Pokemon anime limits you on what you are able to do with them. Anyway, this was an enjoyable read! I look forward to you review for my fic soon.

Oh, great! I laughed quite a lot after reading your review, Tango. Let's break down into it.
Note: anything I do not quote = I agree with you + I have no further commentary.

Honestly, I've always found it easy to sympathize with the trio
Great minds think alike!
Regarding writing:
I have adapted your suggestions for the most part. Only exception is the last line, to which I rewrote with another emphasis.
Hmm so they both have the same reaction?
Woah! You caught me red-handedly writing two NPCs! Time to give them more life.
Huh. They seem completely oblivious to what is on Ash's mind
Since Misty and Tracey haven't witnessed Team Rocket's sacrifice, they find it hard to believe. Not in the sense of "mistrusting Ash's words", but genuine disbelief.
Maybe he could say something like this instead:
I have used only a portion of your suggestion. The rest features Pikachu nudging him to stop being too negative, along with Ash's agreement.
I'm not sure it sounds crazy at this point
Both changed. Carry on.
Misty sounds like the only reason she is agreeing to it is because Ash wants to stay longer rather than because she agrees with him
Ash/Misty, first place! Second is Ash/Serena.
At least Pikachu seems to care
Aww :veelove:
In what way is Ash paying his respects? Is he kneeling down and placing a hand on the memorial?
The scene! I have adapted it exactly the way you suggested.
It seems unlikely they would not recognize them after all their encounters with them so far
I wouldn't be surprised... although I have added seaweed for them. Don't worry, I remembered to remove it from them later!
What are they doing there? Probably trying not to completely die in the ocean, I would assume. :copyka:
"Ha! Prepare for trouble, and make it double!" Probably how Misty thought they would reply.
Somehow when she says that in this context, it makes her look pretty cool! :veelove:
In a word: Jessie.
What? Misty wasn't aware already?
Nope; she would never believe super evil Team Rocket had saved the world.
I love the way you write the Trio. It's so in-character for them. Also, since I've watched the anime, every line of dialogue in your fic comes with automatic in-character voice acting in my head. It's pretty cool!
Reminds of when I started writing... I had JJM's characters carefully placed inside my head. But to the other characters' detriment.
Ash, you literally watched them do it and set up a memorial for them because of it. Why are you asking them? :unquag:
Ash being too "blind", when it comes to Team Rocket's good deeds.
Wow she called him Ash! That's basically unheard of for her! :wowzard:
Makes this moment hit even harder :sadwott:
Shut up, Tracey not Brock. No one asked you. :mewlulz:
Wait, who is Tracey? :quag:
By the way, when I first wrote this story, I genuinely put the name "Brock" in some of these scenes. Had to change those into "Tracey" before anyone noticed!
Well that was adorable compared to their usual banter.
:veelove:
Yeah! Team rocket IS capable of being more than what they usually are.
You just captured my base motivation for writing Team Rocket stories. I'm marveled!
In that case, maybe you should consider NOT launching them several miles into the air before you shrug and walk away
Exactly what I thought when I wrote that scene. #NoMoreBlastingOffAgain!

Woah! I must admit, that reference was not intended. But since it is here, I might as well expand it. Great sight! :wowzard:
Pikachu was wiggling up until this point?
That one moment of uncertainty, about how to "show, don't tell" in Pikachu's case. Changing it in the speed of light-ning!
Shut up, not Brock. No one asked you! :unquag:
Was Tracey more NPC'y than I expected?!?! Sure, I'll take it :okgon:
Why does Misty now care so much? Is it because they saved Ash? It would be cute if that were the case.
Ash/Misty, all the way!
Such a shame that they go right back to trying to steal Pikachu again
And then, the cycle repeats itself... :sadbees:
Ok, not Brock. That's the last straw... It's bad enough that you are a perpetual 3rd wheel for Ash and Misty
:mewlulz:
I recommend ending this last sentence with "?" instead of "."
Actually, the full stop emphasizes the statement, instead of leaving an open question. I would rather keep it as it is.
I do believe this is the first time ever in a review that I made an edit purely for humor! :mewlulz:
And to think I nearly wrote "Brock" instead of "Tracey", [when I was first writing this fanfiction]... :unquag:

Thank you!

I might write turn this idea into a story, once I finish the current one. As long as I can raise the stakes for TRio and for the other characters, this could work.

Once again, I appreciate your feedback. Farewell, good reading, good writing, and above them all: have a good day!
