A few days after Cabot had used his Radiance powers for the first time, he and Cynthian went to the town's marketplace in order to look for supplies. They had used up a bunch of items when fighting Team Spice, so it was important for them to replenish them in case their next fight happened...

"That's... not a good thing," Cabot said as he looked at Cynthian again in concern. "Sounds good. I was planning on heading back to the dojo anyway."

"Let's... be careful using these powers," Cabot said. "We should probably avoid using them more than once or twice per battle, unless we really have to. Since you definitely looked like you were about to explode, Cynthian."

"It's... alright," Cabot said, looking over his arm. Luckily, Starr's claws didn't pierce any of his scales. "At least this will definitely come in handy during our next fight, since that barely hurt me." Right as Cabot finished speaking new rocks began to form around him and it didn't take...

The rocks moved in the way of Starr's paw, blocking it for the most part before dissipating into small flecks of light, leaving Starr's claws to weakly scrape against Cabot's right arm. "H-Hey!" Cabot abruptly jerked his arm back, though more out of reflex rather than it actually hurting him.

"I... think they're supposed to shield me," Cabot said. He slowly took a step forward, only for the rocks to move with him.

"If you're sure..." Cabot still seemed reluctant, but turned towards the sea in order to practice Radiance nevertheless. The Cranidos let out a sigh as he wondered where to even begin with this. Who knew what sort of move he could use? Would it be an attack? Something that could boost his own...

"Eh..." Cabot looked at Cynthian hesitantly, in particular at his uncanny, bright glowing eyes. "Maybe you should take it easy and try to calm down first?" he asked. "Your voice sounds strange and Maple did warn us that using these powers too much could be dangerous."

Cabot nodded back at Starr, when Cynthian's petal abruptly flew onto his forehead. "Wha-?!" He reflexively stepped back and pulled the petal off his head, only for a strange feeling to wash over him. Cabot blinked as he suddenly started seeing things like openings in how Cynthian and Starr...

Cabot gave Starr a concerned look. "Are you okay? You were moving pretty fast, but it also looked like it hurt you."

Cabot tilted his head in confusion. "Eh? But these powers manifest differently for everyone, so how can Starr figure that out for us? And how would coordinating us help her use her own powers?"

"Sure! I'd be up for that!" Cabot exclaimed. "I won't learn how to use these powers by just sitting around, anyway."
