"So. Why're you so interested in stories about swirling clouds and red lightning?"
Within one second, Hana was back, her attention focused on the Sneasel. The Darkest Day. What did it know about it?

Violet nodded her head in understanding. "Well, before I became the absolutely amazing Sneasel you see here," she said, swishing her cape for emphasis, "I, too, was once human." Her ear twitched as she looked at her companions in similar circumstances. She wanted to say more - how she felt faster, freer than ever - but held her tongue. "And, I suppose, for the lack of better word, I believe to have encountered - nay, lived the situation you had described."

She looked up at the sky, recalling that fateful day, "The skies were grim, the ground was ash, and all I could see was red and black," She clutched the cape, wrapping it around herself unconsciously, "And the earthquakes where omnipresent." Her eyes continued drifting, watching each fluffy cloud passing by and seeing the visions of her past, "The estate was going to collapse, gramercy for that, so I escorted my younger brother and I as far away as possible."

Her gaze shifted back down, now eyeing her reflection in her own claw as she continued, "The rest was a blur. One moment, he was with me in the cave shelter, and the next... he was gone." Her face scrunched in anger as she remembered one final detail, "...All I saw was that witch before I woke up as I am, in a far future time."

She chuckled to herself, "Quite honestly, I'd rather not return home," She grinned for a brief moment, but it quickly became a sneer as she followed up by saying, "But by my troth, I will find out what happened that day - what happened to Azure. And if I see that witch Pokémon again..." She sharpened her claws as she said this, her smile once again returning to its typical arrogance, "Well, I have a few choice words in mind."

Violet shook her head as she made an exaggerated shrug, "Alas, while I would certainly love to ponder about this further, I believe it time we moved on with the game." She looked at the other woman dressed in white. Violet recalled her mentioning she too, was from Galar - a perfect candidate. "Hana, was it? So, truth, or dare?"
Hana listened intently, and for the first time, her brain processed information the way it should - fast, without friction from her own memories, but most of all: without fear.
Earthquakes, estate, cave shelter, witch, future time. Bulletpoints. The rest was unimportant, at least for her. In her head, a cluster of questions built up, as well as an image and a horrible feeling of dread.
That… Was thousands of years ago,” she whispered.
Bullshit it was. Unless.

"What do you mean, future times?" she shot out sharply, ignoring any conversation going on around her and glaring at the Sneasel.

"Oh, uh, hi! I'm Blitz!" The electric dog said. "Nice meeting you!"

"I don't know you either, and yet here I am, making conversation with a complete stranger." Lance shrugged. "I take it you're not a fan of this game?"

"Of course not. Why would I enjoy playing a children's game with a bunch of strangers?" Kichiro replied. "I already see Pokémon back home making a fool of themselves on a daily basis and it's not like hearing any of your embarrassing secrets matters to me."

He looked at Blitz and paused a moment, before speaking up again.

"And the name is Keiichiro."

He summoned a Rock Tomb; great pillars of stone intersecting, similar in shape to a pyramid. Antares proceeded to burrow under the ground.

A few seconds later, there was a great rumbling... perhaps an Earthquake? Then, Antares burst from the top of the pyramid-like structure, wreathed in blue-red energy. Dragon Rush! Next, he blew flames around him, spiraling as he ascended: Flamethrower. Finally, he looked back down towards the pyramid, and unleashed a Hyper Beam, completely destroying the structure.

Kichiro leaned to the side to dodge a stray rock that came flying his way, prompting him to glare at the Garchomp.

"Hey! Watch it!"

Lance grinned. "Cranky. Can't say I'm unfamiliar with it. And I've been like that before, not that there's anything wrong with the way you are."

Blitz whimpered, dodging a rock. "Well, then just pick dare? That way you won't need to spill any secrets!"

Realizing that she'd just scooped up a human like that, Lillie quickly set Violet back down. Her face flushed, she felt quite silly. "I-I just... I was a reflex. You know, ice and rock and fire."

Lillie cast her gaze towards her bag, looking for something to distract herself. "You're not hurt, are you? I have medicine if you are."
Violet's face was flushed with embarrassment as she nodded her head, not looking at Lillie in the eye, "A-a-ah, yes, o-of course." She wasn't used to that kind of close contact with any other person besides her family; anyone that visited the estate kept about a meter's worth of distance apart as their personal boundaries.

Trying to cough and shake off her flustered state, she simply replied, "I-I-I'm quite alright! It... would take more than that to land a scratch on me!" She declared, her tone of voice indicating that she herself wasn't even certain of her own words.

"What do you mean, future times?" she shot out sharply, ignoring any conversation going on around her and glaring at the Sneasel.
Violet's attention perked back up as she stared into the woman's glare. The fire behind those eyes pierced into her own, causing Violet to cower away her own gaze as her eyes darted around trying to come up with a sufficient answer. "Well..." It was a conclusion that had been mostly drawn for her rather than one she came up with herself, but she recalled many of the reasons that had convinced her, "I have been told many a time, even today, that my speech is... archaic, as it were. Not so clipped and quick as most here." She closed her eyes and crossed her arms, "Even the Mudkip over yonder seemed to have a comment on it."

Memories of her arrival into the world of Pokémon trickled in as she began, "Court behavior was looked upon as this 'ancient' practice. And... Humanity itself was considered a memory - distant figures of the past long gone." She shook her head as she continued, "I refused to believe it myself, but it seemed like the Pokémon there truly thought that we had disappeared a long time ago, and did all they could to uncover our history. But the things they unearthed thus far..." Her eyes squinted as her brow furrowed, "...I honestly had no idea what they were. 'Bat-are-rees' that could hold lightning. Holding containers made of a flexible but scrunchy material that they called 'plah-stick'? Towering machines made of smooth metal?"

She looked around, eying the other humans present, "Not to mention, I look upon thee and the other people here bearing clothes that are too well-tailored, too clean, too alien... And yet, you all seem to treat it as if it were commonplace. Many of you also seem to hold strange devices on your personage." She rubbed the back of her head as she stared off in the distance, "It... leads me to believe that a long time passed since I had left, even before humanity's alleged disappearance. Longer than I'd like to imagine." Violet sputtered for a moment, "B-But anyways, I believe the saying was, 'truth or dare'?"

Kichiro scoffed. "Yeah, right. Like I'd be stupid enough to pick dare. I'm not gonna embarrass myself on purpose just so you lot can have a few laughs. I wasn't born yesterday, Livolt."

"Li what now?" Blitz barked, confused.

"Well, you do you," Lance said. "At least try to have some fun while you're at it."

Vegeta managed to roll around enough to almost kinda face Violet; Goku didn't really leave her in a good angle to see anyone actually. "If you're looking for sympathy, but also unironically use the word yonder, you're only setting yourself up for disappointment, granny."

Although she looked to be asleep, Lil Goku suddenly jabbed Vegeta in the side. The Kipillow let out a pained wheeze, and tried to kick back, but her legs barely even moved. "Wh-Why the hell do towels work like this..?" Vegeta pouted.

The knot of dread in her stomach grew and she pressed her eyes shut for a short moment to repress it.
Court behaviour. Ask further. This is not Hammerlocke. She's not talking about Hammerlocke. Hammerlocke is alright. Hop is alright.
"Who was the reigning champion at the time? And what do you mean by that witch?"

Gen's eyes widened. Humanity...just being a memory?

His breathing became rapid, and he clutched tightly onto his reunion cape.

Things were hopefully alright, this was just another world, hopefully, but...

The game question being ignored was not lost on Violet, but she herself wasn't sure how to answer. "...Champion?" Violet tilted her head in confusion, "You mean, the King of Circhester?" Maybe another future term. However, the mention of the witch made her scowl, "I only saw them briefly before I awoke like this, but I will never forget it. That pale face, that music-note hair, that grim concert dress, that repugnant smile..."

Antares had been laying facedown in the dirt, but propped himself up on one arm to respond to this.

"It would be most wise of you to not mock others for their manner of speech, you fiend!"

"Would they even have had a champion tho-that long ago?"
Hana quickly seized the young woman next to her up and down. She looked sheltered enough to not watch the news, but also like she couldn't take too blunt words. Better tread with caution. Hana quickly loaded the disc named "empathy" in her brain again

"I'm just making sure we are talking about the first Darkest Day here. And King of Circhester pretty much confirms that."

@MintyMimix
She turned to the Sneasel again still ordering her thoughts. The seat of Galar's monarchy had shifted several times over the long history of the country, more than she cared to remember now. But Circhester sure as fuck wasn't the Queen's seat of power any more.
First Darkest Day. See, everything's fine. They got pulled into the future, you into the past. They're a pokemon, you're not, Hammerlocke is fine, yatta yatta.

"So, a pokemon that looked like a... dancer?" She asked the Sneasel. "Not a dragon?"

Vegeta grumbled, managing to free herself from under Goku's head and rolled back over to the group. Just so she could glare at Antares. "Oh, I'm sorry, or is that not good enough? Should I put on a frilly, pink, pansy dress and curtsy to? Maybe I should give some of my servants' farm produce, or pull out the pen and quill in hopes of striking up a peace treaty between the kingdom of stuck up hoity-toity dragons, and my own kingdom of not being able to care less."

"F-first?!" Gen shouted, trembling badly. "Wh-what do you m-mean?!"

He wasn't entirely sure what this Darkest Day was yet, but if it was related to humanity dying out...

His grip on his reunion cape tightened.

Lillie winced. "Wait. Hold on. The first Darkest Day? Are you insinuating that there's going to be another?"
Oh boy. How to break it to her... wait maybe in her timeline of events, it hadn't yet happened? Urgh... she hated those logic hoops. If she told Lillie now about Hammerlocke, and she would be able to stop it, that would make her right now... what? fade from existence? set her back to four months ago?

Hana sighed. This was difficult. Watching what Leon said and reign him in was one thing, doing that while she was the one talking was another issue entirely.

But the girl's begging look screamed for an answer. The last thing Hana wanted right now was to have her break down in tears.
She carefully picked her words, then put on a casual tone and shrugged. "August 13th 2019. Try to not be in Galar at that date."

"No, not a dragon," Violet murmured as she continuing thinking abou--hold up. "Did you say... First Darkest Day? There was another?!"
Hana turned back to the sneasel.

Not a dragon, huh? Interesting. So maybe Sonia was wrong when she pointed the cause of the original Darkest Day to Eternatus. Then again, if it wasn't Eternatus, then what made the Dynamax phenomenon tick? Dmax, Eternatus and the Darkest Day were firmly linked in her mind, three moving parts in the same equation.

"Yes...," she said, slowly, while she realised she had been biting her fingernails again. "The second one was purposefully induced and... let's say, it went horribly wrong. Where you got sent into the future, I got sent into the past, leaving me plenty of time now, but... understanding what happened at the first Darkest Day might very much help to stop the second one."

She looked at the Sneasel's inquiring eyes. So, a noble from ancient Galar. Interesting, more than interesting. She would need to sort through this. Hana quickly rewound the conversation so far, making sure she didn't miss any important key note. Damn it, was she biting her fingers again?!

"Truth, by the way"

Antares scowled at the Mudkip. "I do not know whence your speech about nobility and kingdoms came from. Rest assured, I am not commanding you to do such things. In fact, I would find it rather amusing if you went to such lengths." He paused briefly. "And I am not 'stuck up.' I am one of, if not the, most humble Garchomp you could ever hope to encounter!"
