That's a cool idea! I would probably do something like that but I doubt I'm good enough to have a particularly long streak

You don't need writing skill to make a streak :3 A lot of days my sentences will just be "The festival was big" and then later I add a real description! My streak goal is more about keeping the habit, so even a few basic words is enough.

Regardless, finding the method that works for you is definitely the way to go! Good luck!
