Sixth Anniversary Event Planning​

It's anniversary season once again on Thousand Roads! The community officially opened on April 24th, 2019, and we'll be celebrating for two weeks, April 26th - May 4th. As usual, we'll be running a number of small events throughout the anniversary period so that people can easily pop in here and there to sample whatever interests them. If you've ever thought about trying to organize your own community event--an art stream, flash RP, forum game, or otherwise--now is a great time to give it a shot! I'm also looking for some volunteers to help out with the events I'm running. The schedule is TBD, and I'll be adding events as we settle on them, but as of now, here's what to expect for this year's anniversary!

Forum Events​

- As always, drabble bingo will be available to inspire you to get in a bit of quick writing! Ask for a bingo card of prompts on a theme--or completely at random--and write ultra-short stories in response to win a prize!

- Once again our mini review blitz will return! Leave a couple nice pieces of feedback this anniversary, and you could find yourself with a new forum companion!

- As usual we'll have some kind of RP-focused event to go with our anniversary. I already have a couple prospects in mind, but if you're interested in running a small RP event or game on the forums this anniversary, please let me know!

Discord Events​

- Speed catnip returns for another year! Sample bite-sized bits of fic and receive quick feedback in this frenetic real-time review swap game. Look out for sign-ups and more information about this event during the anniversary's first week.

- We'll be hosting at least one voice chat fic reading this year--the one we had last year was too much fun not to bring back! Stop by to read a bit from your own story, read a bit of someone else's fic aloud, or simply listen in and enjoy some small story previews.

- Bench will be hosting a session of "For the Queen," a collaborative roleplaying game, and some party games over Jackbox as well!

How You Can Help​

- I'd love to get one-two other people to help me make cards for drabble bingo!

- I'm also looking for volunteers to host speed catnip or a fic reading on Discord!

- If you have any interest in running a small event, such as an art or movie stream on Discord, a flash RP, or a little writing game, this would be a great time to do it! Feel free to post here to gauge interest, or send me a DM if there's something you know you'd like to do.

- Any other thoughts on the event--activities you'd like to see (or not like to see!), ways to make it run more smoothly, or different things we ought to try, are all very much welcome!

I kind of wanted to try hosting a little writing game in the Writing Buddies thread (happy to see so many people liked the idea and are using it btw!!), something like a little challenge to hit a certain total wordcount between all users, or a "Mystery Egg" event also for Easter... Could that work?

My idea was something like:

A "event" that spans the two anniversary week. In those two weeks, all words logged in the writing buddies thread get summed.
If all users together hit specific word thresholds(I was thinking 10k, 15k, 20k, again, all users together, not each!), they get prizes for each "tier"

(An achievement in the thread/a forum companion, bonus levels for their little pixel buddies, idk I'm still thinking about it)

I would be interested in this! I was kind of thinking of suggesting/running a mini word crawl tbh and this is in the same vein as that.

We normally don't do review prizes for anniversary events, but I'll keep you in mind if that changes. Thanks for the offer!

This sounds great! Maybe there could be a little bonus for people who get their words by working on their anniversary bingo drabbles? Or perhaps that might be getting too complicated.
