Explanation: I enjoy reading and reviewing fanfics. But since I don't have plans to post any of my writing here, I won't even be able to participate in the Review Tag thread, Catnip, or any exchanges. But I still would like to review people's fanfics.

My problem is that there is so much to read here!

Writers may use this thread to get a review from me. No strings attached. Nothing expected in return. You want something read and reviewed? You got it!

For an example of my reviewing style, see my latest review.

Notes:

-Please specify if you do not want a fully-constructive review! Otherwise, I will point out typos or other improvements (mostly technical) that I can find while reading.

-Please let me know if the fanfic in question is a sequel! I prefer to read in some semblance of order.

-Please note that I am not currently familiar with all of Pokémon canon. I have played up to Ultra Sun and skipped to Legends Arceus. For the anime, I watched the original series and am currently working my way through Johto. This will change in the future as I catch up on the anime and the mainline games. And I might toss the manga in as well. For Mystery Dungeon, I will watch playthroughs if need be.

What I will read:

For Pokémon, anything and everything. Trainer fics. Anime fics. PMD fics. Game fics. I have no triggers, squicks, icks, preferences, or anything like that for this fandom.

When you say "and I might toss in the manga as well" do you mean you're familiar with Pokemon manga or you aren't? If you are, which series? I want someone who's familiar with Diamond and Pearl Adventure! to read my fic but it's hard to find anyone who knows that one.



That said, if you want to do a WHOLE LOT of reading in gameverse, I have an ongoing fic here set a few years after Violet and I'm working on the tenth part right now. Safe Passage is the first part and then there are links to the rest.

When you say "and I might toss in the manga as well" do you mean you're familiar with Pokemon manga or you aren't? If you are, which series? I want someone who's familiar with Diamond and Pearl Adventure! to read my fic but it's hard to find anyone who knows that one.

I read only one volume of the D/P manga years ago. Going back farther, I read only the first few parts with Red when they were first released. What I meant was that I would probably start reading the manga to get familiar with the characters and storylines, because it's always interested me. I'll keep you updated on that progress.

Also, I opened all the parts of Gakutensoku on my phone to start reading and reviewing them!

Hey guys, Astinus already reviewed all currently published chapters for my fic TCG2: Doduo Adventures - Book One

His reviews for individual chapters are not super in-depth, but he makes up for it in the sheer amount of content he reads! (Not that he needs to make up for anything since his reviews are a wonderful charity to the community.) His style is unique how it allows him to read fics cover to cover without taking years to do so! As such, his reviews for me are among the best experiences I have had on TR. He even helped beta read a chapter I am looking to publish! (Waiting to publish it along with the remaining chapters to finish out the book.)

Don't get me wrong though, generally speaking, I prefer longer and more in-depth reviews, but having at least one person to get through material quickly and all the way like Astinus does is great! I wonder how many of us have fics that have been read and reviewed all the way through by other people? If not for K_S, Astinus would be the only one for me who has done that. (Astinus is on a pause at the moment in my fic because I want to finish up Book One and then get the original enhanced and re-posted as Book Two)

If he sticks with it, Astinus will eventually be in a unique(I think?) position of having read several long fics on here and probably multiple shorter ones too. As that happens, I think he will be a good source for recommendations for various fics. It's one thing for an author to promote their fic, but I think Astinus could be a reasonably objective source. Maybe he could keep a list in his first post of what he read and reviewed so far?

It's also interesting to see what authors pop up in here. I think the people here are those among us who are most active and care the most about receiving reviews. I imagine more will post in here soon too.

Anyway, I'm hoping to receive more reviews from him on my fic as I finish out Book One and begin posting Book Two!

Dunno if you're still doing requests for these since you clearly have a full plate already, but if you are, I'll throw in Dragonspiral's Children (redux) into the pile since it's been sad and lonely without feedback since January.

Oh! Diamond and Pearl Adventure! is a separate manga from Pokemon Adventures. It only covers DPPt (though the artist did do an Emerald manga which MAY be the same continuity but both are fully standalone so it doesn't matter) and the main character is named Hareta.

Also, I opened all the parts of Gakutensoku on my phone to start reading and reviewing them!

Well, colour me curious! I posted a double drabble (2k word one shot) that might be an interesting introduction to my world: Godsplintered. You don’t need to know anything about the canon since it takes place in my headcanon verse, though it’s Pokemon POV in a world where certain Pokémon have sapience and autonomy. I left it deliberately open ended with such a short length but I’d be curious to explore more of it.
