Sneasel's house seemed pretty ordinary on the surface. Two rooms, the dining room and the bedroom. There was a short table and several cupboards of food in the dining room, and three straw beds and a bookshelf in the bedroom, along with some pillows and blankets.

Five books were strewn around near one of the beds. Squads of Adventure, Starfall, When Time Stopped, The Untold Tales of the Gardeners, and Crisis at the Tree of Life. The first book had a Slowking's crown on the cover, the second had Rayquaza at the top of a tower of clouds, the third had some sort of blue gear on the cover, the fourth depicted a castle of ice in the sky, and the fifth had pictures of a Torchic and Chikorita, each wearing a blue and green striped scarf.

Under the same bed that the books were around, the corner of a piece of paper could be seen sticking out from the straw.

Once night fell, Gladion had to face the idea of meeting people on his own, seeing as he and Nero were assigned different rooms. He entered the house in as subtly as a two meter tall chimera could hope to. He caught a glimpse of an unidentifiable white-furred roommate there already. He wanted to stop to get a better look at them, but his helmet restricted his field of view to what was in front of him, and so any attempt to get a better look would quite clearly be staring, which was probably still rude in the culture.

It was hardly as if they were the weirdest one in the room, anyways. He headed to the bedroom, hoping he'd be able to get away with just quietly slipping away.

He stacked the books tidily beside the bookshelf, then grabbed a pillow and blanket. Sleeping on straw might've itched against his human body, but his new hide was meant to take a lot worse than some poking with straw. The real difficulty was getting comfortable with the helmet on. He just couldn't find a position that didn't irritate one part of his body or another.

In his tossing and turning, he noticed a paper note partially hidden underneath the straw. Seeing as he wasn't making any progress on his original goal, he retrieved it and took a look. He couldn't help himself.

On the paper were the following words:

Paper said:
Plan to pass as an amnesiac human
1. Find someone willing to go along with this plan and be my partner.
2. Eat nomel berry to reduce healing move effectiveness.
3. Destroy this note.
4. Roll around in grass to look like I've fallen from the sky.
5. Find a member of the World-Savers' Council
6. Pretend I've lost memories, but remember being a human.
7. Pass as an amnesiac human with accomplice as partner.
8. Join the council.
9. Fame and fortune!

Gladion didn't entirely understand why faking amnesia would be desirable in the first place, much less faking humanity. Still, something about the ridiculousness of the entire concept made him consider preemptively executing step three of the plan out of spite, but he figured it might be useful later. Either for evidence or a gag.

He grumbled and tucked it beneath the stack of books.
