Okay, SO after the absolute huge chapter of Reflections that was chapter five and with how tired I was to where I'm certain my editing wasn't up to par with how it usually is, I realize I REALLy need to get a beta reader/editor to help me with grammar and stuff. I haven't heard anything from the beta I was considering that I mentioned and she's busy as far as I know so I don't want to bug/be a pain in the back to her about this.
Uhm. I'm not sure what to say, I've never done this at all so I don't know what to do/say... Erm, I'm largely looking for help with grammar and mistakes, but I don't mind/I like feedback and some questions on the plot/story, I may even tell you what I currently have planned out in my head and pinball ideas off you and, ngl one thing I partially addressed in chapter five was due to someone wondering how a mentioned event went cause of the pokemon involved so questions I do not mind at all and for the most part welcome them!
Um, all that I ask is that if you concrit, don't be too harsh...? I know I need work in some areas of my writing cause how I learned was reading other stories by other people and emulating and learning via that, no writing or grammar classes under my belt unfortunately, so any help is appreciated, but atm my mental state is, not exactly good, I'm not trying to be a whiny sensitive baby, I really am not and if I am I will smack myself cause bad Alira you don't do that you don't be stupid, I just know that harsh concrit might make my energy level drop lower than it already is nowadays. I'm trying to get better but this year's not been kind so far.
Oh! And please don't spoil what's going to happen to others, I know that is a huge no-brainer probably but I'm new and don't know what the hell I'm doing with betas XD
What else...Don't be surprised if I randomly message you not regarding beta stuff, I'm not a jerk who uses people and I want to get to know you! I may be a tad shy and awkward at first as I figure out how to talk to you(Thank my mental problems for that, socializing is not my forte and that's, painfully obvious imo |D) and I may be slow to respond due to irl stuff though so keep that in mind.
Um, now onto more tech(?)/time related stuff!
I use google docs generally and will make a copy of the document with Reflections in it for you to look over and possibly edit due to my own paranoia/need to have backup. I will finish the chapter in my own doc then copy it into the editable version you have once I finish said chapter.
I currently live in the midwest in the middle of tornado alley in Missouri, so my time zone is CST, I normally wake up around six am. However, lately, I've been sleeping from anywhere from between 7am-12pm until 3pm and staying up late into the night to anywhere from 3am-4am before going to bed and waking up at six, then doing the sleeping from before to get a decent amount of sleep. I am fighting to fix it but just warning you if it takes a long while to get a response when it's early in the morning for me, normally I won't let messages sit and I'll try to get to them asap unless I'm really tired and drained to where I don't know what to reply with(that happens far too frequently for my liking..).
Um, I would REALLY appreciate it if you let me know if you were busy or something so you couldn't reply, this is mostly a me thing but I'm terrified of bugging someone if I haven't heard back from them so I, often, don't say a word and next thing I know a month has passed without communication and I'm scared I'll be bugging them if I message them now-it's a never ending cycle and completely an issue on MY end, not anyone else's.
Uh, that's it I think! I'm in the Discord under the same name so you can comment here and/or pm me there, I'm not picky. I may get a tad spazzed when I see I've been pm'd, but that's normal for me with people I don't normally pm, uh, pm me XD
