This is a random oneshot I wrote with the help of my beta reader for april fools. Just try not to take this too seriously considering this is a joke.
A Legendary Lawsuit
Arceus: “Welcome to the Pokemon Court. Today we have a case Dialga vs Groudon and Kyogre. Dialga is represented by his attorney Celebi, and Groudon and Kyogre by their attorneys Heatran and Manapy. The judge shall be I, Arceus.”
Heatran: “Objection! Arceus cannot be the judge for this case. He has a clear conflict of interest, as he created Dialga.”
Arceus: “I have created all pokemon, including your client and you, either directly or indirectly through Mew. Therefore I cannot be by default biased towards any pokemon. We also have a Jury of three members, Xerneas, Yveltal and Zygarde, all experienced in judgements. Objection overruled. Celebi, please state your claim.”
Celebi: “We claim that Groudon and Kyogre have used primal forms without permission of my client Dialga. As he was the first one to have a primal form, he has the copyright to it. Groudon and Kyogre have violated this copyright. I now ask your honor for permission to interrogate the defendants Groudon and Kyogre.”
Arceus: “Permission granted, please proceed.”
Kyogre: “I’ll go first.”
Groudon: “No, I’ll go. I’m better at this.”
Kyogre: “What! You’ll take that back or I’ll show what I’m better at!”
Rayquaza: “Order in court! As the Court Marshall I have the mandate to remove anyone from this hall. Now behave, all of you! Kyogre goes first.
Celebi: “Kyogre, you are requested to answer only what I ask you, and to tell nothing but the truth. Are you Kyogre, the legendary pokemon of the sea?”
Kyogre: “Yes I am.”
Celebi: “And do you have a primal form?”
Kyogre: “Yes, I do.”
Celebi: “And when did you first appear in your primal form?”
Kyogre: “In Pokemon Alpha Sapphire in 2014.”
Celebi: “Nothing further to add. May I interrogate Groudon now?
Arceus: “Permission granted.”
Celebi: “Groudon, you are requested to answer only what I ask you, and to tell nothing but the truth. Are you Groudon, the legendary pokemon of the land?””
Groudon: “Yes I am.”
Celebi: “And do you have a primal form?”
Groudon: “Yes, I do.”
Celebi: “And when did you first appear in your primal form?”
Groudon: “In Pokemon Omega Ruby in 2014.”
Celebi: “Nothing further to add.”
Celebi: “Your honor the Judge, members of the Jury. Both defendants have confessed that they have primal forms, first appearing in the year 2014. My client, however, had a primal form already in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, released in 2009. Therefore He was the first one to have a primal form.”
Manaphy: The defence would like to call in its first witness, Satoshi Tajiri, the CEO of Game Freak and the creator of the pokemon franchise. Mr. Satoshi. Is it true that Pokemon Alpha Saphire and Omega Ruby were released in 2014 and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky in 2009?”
Mr. Satoshi: “This is correct.”
Manaphy: “Is it also correct that all of these games were published in Japan before their English versions?”
Mr. Satoshi: “That is also correct.”
Manaphy: “And did the japanese games all refer to primal forms when concerning these legendary pokemons Dialga, Groudon and Kyogre?”
Mr Satoshi: “No. While the japanese names of the forms of Groudon and Kyogre in Pokemon Alpha Saphire and Omega Ruby” referred them as primal forms, the original japanese name of the form used by Dialga in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky was a dark form, not a primal form.”
Manaphy: “Nothing further to add.”
Manaphy: “Your honor the Judge, member of the Jury. As Mr. Satoshi has just said, in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky Dialga had a dark form, not a primal form. Therefore he does not own the copyright to a primal form. This whole case is an unfortunate result of a bad translation.”
Arceus: “Has the Jury reached its verdict?”
Zygarde: “Yes. We find the defendants not guilty.”
Arceus: “As the court of this jury I claim the defendants not guilty. The charges are to be dropped and Dialga is to pay any costs caused by this lawsuit to the defendants. Case closed.”
Celebi to Dialga: “Ok. It seems that we lost this case due to a bad translator. We could, however, sue the translator if you have time for it.”
Dialga to Celebi: “I have all the time there is.”
