Coco frowned. “So the baby crawls out of the rock? Eggs sound easier. I hatched from an egg.”

Coco frowned. “What’s a fossil?” She didn’t remember Mama saying that word.

Hmm. “If you’re not her father, how did you meet?”

Good bite! Coco let go and took a few steps back, licking the blood off her lips. “Are you his father? And who bites better?”

Coco made no move to defend. Why would she? This way she could see whose bite was better. She clamped down as she felt the canine bite into her flank. She growled in mock anger (it didn't really hurt her) and started wagging her tail.

Unfair! Mama had never shown Coco her teeth. She slapped the ground with her tail. “I need to get Mama to bite me,” she said “to see how good her teeth are.” But that was a concern for later. There was someone else to bite in front of her. She opened her jaws and charged.

“Good! Mama doesn’t let me bite all the things I want at home. But I can here?” She paused for a second as an idea came to her. “Can I bite you? I don’t know what you feel like.”

"Hmm. At least I'll get to see how hard it is to bite. Then maybe once I get home I can bite it for real!"

"Ooh! Let me come! I want to bite the big dragons!" Coco's tail was wagging along behind her, hunger temporarily forgotten. Food is temporary, bites are forever.

She perked up. Big dragons! “How strong? Could I bite them?”

“Alola?” It was hard to remember human stuff sometimes. “I think it’s Alola. Ooh! Where are you from?”

“Some kind of challenge. Don’t know what a gym is, though.” Coco started looking around. It smelled like there was something good here. She was a very good girl so she wouldn’t kill it now. But she wanted to know where it was so she could kill it later.

“Oh! Yeah, my Mama. She’s on your team. The big dragon… hydragon?”

Yes! He finally complimented the teeth! “Very strong! I had just gotten my teeth a few weeks ago and already bit so many things!”

You nod, moving your jaws a little to give an even better view of your teeth. “Mitzcoco-something, but Mama calls me Coco.”
