Bahamut's shade approaches Joule and asks how to procure a steady source of radiance for the upcoming fight. He explains Bahamut's Brilliant Beacon and how it requires radiance from others. He wants to know who is strong enough to approach the Tree with the team and offer such power.

"Ah, yes. I heard about the tree... thing." Bahamut scratched his head. "I guess I can always offer some tips on photosynthesis."

Bahamut watched the display, tilting slightly clockwise. "... you know, if you ever want to retire to a quieter life, I'm sure you could have a booming career in pyrotechnics."

Bahamut raised his arm and sent soft Morning Sun light over Brisa and Dave. “If you need someone to maintain direct contact with this thing, my mind is messed up enough that it can’t faze me.”

Bahamut drove Shining Blades into the creature. "Get away from him!"

Bahamut nodded. "But of course."

“They came precisely because they care.” Bahamut gestured at them. “For all your past issues with control, you’ve touched quite a few people here. You have friends. Genuine friends.”

“You like those comics and heroic tales, do you not?” Bahamut pointed his hand up and fired his signal: a Photon Geyser. “How do you feel about parts where heroes recognize the power their friends provide them?”

Bahamut had proceeded forward toward the golden light. His ability to float made it much easier to move around what would otherwise be unfamiliar for the others. "Owen," Bahamut called, trying to get a sense of what was ahead. "I have a question for you."
