[Shield > Team Spectrum]: Hey everyone. I don't think I've talked with you guys before, but I think I wanted to let you guys know about something. While we were fighting in the Colosseum, Sword remembered one last thing about what happened just before Telum was destroyed. I think it has some answers to how this all happened at all, so... Lots of words coming, but here's what we think happened...

[Brisket > Team Spectrum]: Appreciate the information, partner. We're still trying to put together all the lore we can about the Blacklight crisis, and this is a huge missing piece. Many thanks!

[Brisket > Team Spectrum]: Quick summary for the impatient: Dark Matter of Telum was able to seize the mind of Giovanni's Mewtwo as a vessel for itself due to its weak will. An eternatus was present for Sword and Shield's final confrontation with Dark Matter, and Telum's Voice of Life, Hydreigon Blade, even as Dark Matter consumed him, sent some of his own energy to that eternatus in a desperate last ditch effort to win. Immediately after that, eternatus's essence was bound to Dark Matter, Mewtwo, Sword, and Shield. All present were then bound up inside the being we now know as Maple.

[Brisket > Team Spectrum]: As I understand it, that means the entity controlling Blacklight Mewtwo is actually a part of Dark Matter, the part not already bound to Maple. His mind is completely overtaken. That's downright horrifying to cogitate over, I'll say.

[Pop > S0urdough]: That part of Sword was already destroyed from the Worldcore. That piece of Eternatus is currently under study in Chip's lab; there is no longer any core remaining within Sword herself. In terms of interacting with Eternatus energy in that way, Sword is not at risk.

[Tamato > Team spectrum]: Actually, that answers what the meteor was, too. Shield, you said a big one slammed into Mewtwo? That was the same meteor, I bet. Mewtwo 'hatched' from it some time after Zeraora got to it... right?

[Rot > Team Spectrum]: No, that doesn't add up. Mewtwo already infected Soda by the time the meteor fell, and Soda had investigated the meteor at the time.

[Soda > Team Spectrum]: yep meteor was still there. but maybe it hatched and had some residual stuff inside. no idea where the actual thing went afterward but the thing had tons of corrupted energy. but hang on does that mean mewtwo isn't the mastermind after all, but telum's you?

[Rot > Team Spectrum]: I plan to investigate something related to that soon. But I have a suspicion that it isn't.

[Brisket > Team Spectrum]: I feel like it ought not to escape our notice that there were fully four aberrant persons present on Telum to see it go a different way to its average sibling-world. Silver, Red, Giovanni, and Eternatus of Telum. I dare say there's a reason so many unusual characters were there in the first place.

[Tamato > Team Spectrum]: It was because Red and Silver were chasing Giovanni, who was chasing that Eternatus. That's what made everything on Telum go the way it doesn't usually go--outside influence from another world entirely.

[Brisket > Team Spectrum]: Yeah, that tracks. We ever figure out how the humans managed to travel between worlds? Guessing it's a technological means developed by Giovanni, but it'd be good to know for sure

[Tamato > Team Spectrum]: Giovanni. Not sure how, but he's apparently traveled to a bunch of worlds. Got thwarted in most of them, so he moved on and cut his losses. But he apparently lost that technology after what happened on Telum.

[Brisket > Team Spectrum]: fellow said something once about having an empire but he spent hundreds of years in maple's guts. figure it wouldn't even recognise him as its ruler any more. weird to think about

[S0urdough > Team Spectrum]: I doubt the flow of time is linear between dimensions. Otherwise, we'll all be returning home to find that we've been gone for months. I say it's perfectly possible that hundreds of years on a world like this amounts to days in whatever dimension Giovanni originated from.

[Soup > S0urdough]: hey, I know you don't want to let your familiar exist but I'm gonna talk with him in the middle of nowhere. i'll even keep him in like, a jar, or something

[Rosemary> S0urdough]: What's the project about? They didn't leave any word before they stopped showing up, so is it something we ought not to know?

[S0urdough > Team Spectrum]: This is not something I’m discussing on this line when we know badges can be hacked and a certain set of substitutes might be viewing them.

You sound like you know what's going on. I'll ask again, is it something we're not meant to know?

Her mind was troubled, but assurance wasn't exactly something she looked forward to from Bahamut.
