"I haven't really figured anything out yet either," Cynthian said. He then raised his left flower with focused eyes. Ever since hebtouched the light orb, a faint tingle had radiated from it ever since.

"Though my white rose has been feeling strange since we got back from the guild. Maybe it's the Radiance doing something to it?"

"Well, I'm glad you guys are getting along a little better," Cabot said. "And I haven't yet. It's tricky because I don't know what these powers will do exactly. At least with something like TM moves I know what to train for."
"Yeah, same. I mean, I'm still knew to the whole 'using moves' thing, but when I was training my team, I had to know what the moves did if I wanted to give any kind of half-decent instruction."

"Though my white rose has been feeling strange since we got back from the guild. Maybe it's the Radiance doing something to it?"
Starr shrugged. "Could be. When I was warming up earlier, I felt... something. Dunno if it was Radiance or whatever, but it hadn't been there before. It's almost like it was... pushing me to go further. That probably sounds stupid, but eh."

She paused, glancing up and down the shoreline. "It's a pretty big beach. I guess we could try figuring it out right now, if you're up for it."

Cynthian gave her an intrigued look for a moment. "Oh, I had completely forgotten about you being a human like Dave and the others. So, you trained a team of pokemon, which must mean you're very good at coordinating others, right? Why don't you coordinate us then and help us all figure this out?"

"Eh? But these powers manifest differently for everyone, so how can Starr figure that out for us? And how would coordinating us help her use her own powers?"

"From what I inferred from my past discussions with Dave, pokemon trainers are able to handle all sorts of unpredictabilities with their pokemon. Though I'm not sure, since I don't know how the pokemon in Starr's world are like."

Cynthian averted his gaze from Cabot and turned to Starr. "Could pokemon talk like us in your world, or were they mostly err... wild?"

Cynthian averted his gaze from Cabot and turned to Starr. "Could pokemon talk like us in your world, or were they mostly err... wild?"
Starr rubbed the back of her head. "See, thing is... they're kinda both. They don't like, build towns and craft shit back home, but like... they're still people, y'know? Worlds where Pokemon build houses or worlds where Pokemon are just animals--those are both pretty frickin weird to me. They can't exactly talk like humans can, but they've got their own language, and some humans back home have learned it." She glanced away awkwardly. "I wasn't... that great at it. My friends can have like, long talks and crap with their teams." It had never been that important before. And she'd just plain had too much else to deal with on the force, so she just... hadn't bothered to keep going with it. Felt weird as hell admitting that to actual Pokemon.

She shook her head. No sense thinking about back home right now. "Anyway, Cabot's right--I don't really think I'll be mush good for instruction when I don't know what I'm looking for, but I guess I can keep an eye out for anything that jumps out at me while you're focusing on your power." She put a paw to her chest. "I felt that weird spark from last night when I was running just now, so that'll be what I start with."

Starr chuckled. "Nah. From the way that Smeargle chick was talking last night, doesn't seem like Radiance uses any of the usual energy types, so I'm not exactly expecting anything fire." A bit of a shame, really. She was used to working with fire, what with half her team being that type. Some kind of kickass inferno would've been cool.

"Anyway. I'll take another stab at it, sure," she said, standing up from the sand and tensing herself all over. She felt her aura flaring to life inside, that Pokemonish instinct prodding for her to use it. Fine with her.

Starr broke into a run, her paws kicking up sand as she raced down the shoreline, parallel to the water's edge. Already the energy was building inside her, and she focused on it as hard as she could, letting it grow. This was the point where she'd normally let it all flare outward, catching fire once it hit the open air, boosting her into a Flame Charge. But she held it back, forcing it inward. Concentrating on the feel of it. There was that spark again from last night. It was... different than the aura she'd gotten used to feeling the past two weeks. It had... its own life, as weird as that sounded.

Her limbs felt lighter. She pushed herself harder. There was an odd nostalgia about it. It was almost like her early days on the force. Training herself as much as her team. Going all out until you were exhausted and then pushing yourself beyond that. The light inside of her was... calling for that.

Another push, and the light surged through her limbs, and for a split second it felt like she was flying across the sand right before it cut off just as sharply. A sharp impact shot through her chest out of nowhere, and she skidded to a stop, coughing hard like she'd just gotten the wind knocked out of her.

Fuck, that hurt. But... she'd done it, she'd felt the light, if only for an instant.

Starr wrenched her face into a pained grin as she trotted back to the other two. "Got it going there for a little bit," she said, still panting hard and out of breath. She flopped down onto the sand once she got back and added, "Think I'll... watch for a bit."

Starr coughed again, grimacing slightly. "I'll be fine. Prob'ly just hurt cause I haven't figured out how to use it right." She noticed Cabot looking at her with concern. "I'm fine," she repeated. "I've had worse."

"You did good, Starr. I guess your move triggers a recoil? I sure hope mine doesn't," Cynthian said with a shudder.

Speaking of which, his mind fell back on that dream with the white rose garden again. Cynthian stared at his white rose beside him and hummed.

"Let me try." Cynthian raised his flower and focused his mind on it. The faint tingling was still there, and it began to rise ever so slightly as he focused his mind on the flower.

A gasp escaped Cynthian when a single petal shot out of his flower. It spun twice in the air and beelined towards Cabot, sticking firmly onto his forehead. Once it did, Cabot would suddenly begin to see any flaws and weaknesses in Cynthian and Starr's physical bodies and aura flow laid bare to him, at least until he struck either of them.

"Oh dear, I'm so sorry... I didn't mean. Did it hurt?!" Cynthian said after the fact. His heart quickened, and he really hoped he didn't just hurt his friend.

Cabot nodded back at Starr, when Cynthian's petal abruptly flew onto his forehead.

"Wha-?!"

He reflexively stepped back and pulled the petal off his head, only for a strange feeling to wash over him. Cabot blinked as he suddenly started seeing things like openings in how Cynthian and Starr were standing, weak spots... all things he never really noticed before.

"I-I'm alright. It didn't hurt," Cabot insisted. "It just feels... very weird. Not in a bad way... somehow I know exactly how and where to hit you guys the hardest."

"Wait, really? Was that because of my petal?" Cynthian flower trembled as he brought it to his face. Was it just him or was it starting to glow a little? "How do we know it isn't just your powers that just awakened, Cabot?"

He found it strange that he couldn't really feel his own power on himself, yet Cabot now had Marsharingan or something. In any case, there was only one way to truly know. Cynthian furrowed his eyebrows and aimed his white rose at his face.

The tingly power quickly rose just like before. A glowing white petal shot out of his flower, but it flew completely away from Cynthian and into the air again only to zip past Cabot, who was still being affected by the first one, and then painlessly smacked Starr across the stripes on her forehead.

"Strange? It doesn't to work on me even if I try. How curious isn't it, lads?" Cynthian said with a look full of amusement. His white rose was undeniably glowing now, as if he'd dipped it into Necrozma's core.

Cynthian trotted over to Starr and stood in front of her with a very friendly smile. He could feel natural heat from where he stood, yet Cynthian felt he could've hugged her all the way if he was prompted to. "Since you happened to be my second dear sorry victim, do you also feel anything different, Starr?"

Starr sat bolt upright, blinking. "Whoa, what the hell is tha--" She froze when the sight came over her--there it was, plain as day. She was looking at Cabot and Cynthian, but also it was like she was looking through them. Every single detail, the paths their energy took through their bodies, plain as day. Targets practically highlighted with flashing neon signs.

"God, that's weird," Starr said, shaking her head and brushing the flower petal away.

Cynthian was in front of her now. His voice was different and--oh Jesus, what the hell was up with that creepy-ass, glowy-eyed expression.

"Yeah, uh, real different. Sure. How about you turn off whatever the fuck that is."

"Yeah, uh, real different. Sure. How about you turn off whatever the fuck that is."

"Turn it off? Now, why would I ever do that?" Cynthian waved his glowing white rose and giggled. "I haven't felt this thrilled since I found a Gracidea for Nora during one of my expeditions. They're so hard to come by outside the Shaymin village. Of course, that was before we fell apart, but that doesn't matter any more now."

Cynthian snapped back to Cabot with gleaming eyes. "Cabot, Cabot, it's your turn now. Present us what your Radiant does!" Cynthian spun himself into a pose. "Chop chop, now! The show must go on!"

"Eh..."

Cabot looked at Cynthian hesitantly, in particular at his uncanny, bright glowing eyes.

"Maybe you should take it easy and try to calm down first?" he asked. "Your voice sounds strange and Maple did warn us that using these powers too much could be dangerous."

Cynthian stared at him blankly for a few seconds. "I don't feel like I'm in danger. In fact, I feel like I could take on ANY danger right now!"

He shook his flowers like pompoms and lightly bounced on his feet, looking at Cabot with unsettling eagerness. "Now quick, hurry! Show us what you can do!"

"If you're sure..."

Cabot still seemed reluctant, but turned towards the sea in order to practice Radiance nevertheless. The Cranidos let out a sigh as he wondered where to even begin with this. Who knew what sort of move he could use? Would it be an attack? Something that could boost his own powers? Or perhaps something that could make his opponents slower or weaker...? At least Starr and Cynthian felt something within them that helped them figure things out, but he didn't have anything like that.

As Cabot contemplated on what to do, he remembered what Diyem had told him earlier. A burning flame that was part of the aura around his spirit... It wasn't much, but with nothing else to go on, perhaps it was worth a shot. He closed his eyes and tried to focus on the image, imagining himself drawing power from that burning flame.

At first nothing seemed to happen, only for Cabot to suddenly glow bright as small rocks began to form all around him. It didn't take long for the glow to fade away and when Cabot opened his eyes, he looked around himself in surprise as the small rocks now moved around him like a protective barrier.
